Give the OP a break. He has only been around since May so its obvious he hasn't seen the many, many, many Left Wing Side Show (to paraphrase the OP) threads that trashed W on a daily basis when he was President and a few months after.

Instead of argueing with him just suggest he uses the search button and do some homework before he makes himself look ignorant.

Oh I am suprised that you think this site is full of right wing conservatives. I always thought it was chalked full of whiny, antiwar, communist-wannabe, lazy, government teet sucking Liberals who hate anyone who has ever turned a profit or had more disposable income than just the means to get an internet connection

When I first started reading this site it had relevant topics and great news stories unheard of anywhere else.

Unfortunatly ATS has become a place for right-wing, extremely fanatical people.

I thought the whole motive of ATS was to remain neutral to politics (they are all one big party anyways) and explore the reality behind this perceptions.

Obama-bashing, Obama-loving whatever you do please stop because its only distracting to the search for the truth.

Use the search button and research threads about Bush.

You will find that before you joined the threads trashing Bush outnumbered those trashing Obama 2 to 1.

Unless you knew this and was okay with the left wing, extremely fanatical people bashing W.

He could even utilize the search button to find the various "ATS is over run by Liberals!" threads....

The best forum communities I have ever used catered to the liberal mindset and ran off conservatives & religious loonies. It is a shame ATS can't do the same. The fact is (proven scientifically) that conservatives are not open to differing viewpoints. In fact the more evidence they are presented with the firmer their twisted stance becomes. This site has a conservative christian cabal that almost renders it useless.

I would say my views lean "conservative" but I would also say you are not a very nice person. I am open to all views and appreciate people of all colors. I am offended by you and your post and would hope ATS would brand you as a person that doesn't deserve the same space to post here as I do. Wow..I still can't believe you said what you did!.................I'm a "loonie" for being conservative? You need some Soviet air space in your life pal.

I'm at a loss for words.....

Right wingers dont think the DEMOCRATS are Facists or the Nazis only this particular party.

I'm opposed to mandatory servitude that requires my child to participate. I, as the parent know what is best for my child. It's comparable to the Nazi youth program.

Obama's Civilian National Security Force seems a bit like Nazi Germany.

www.factcheck.org...

Obama was not talking about a "security force" with guns or police powers. He was talking specifically about expanding AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and the USA Freedom Corps, which is the volunteer initiative launched by the Bush administration after the attacks of 9/11, and about increasing the number of trained Foreign Service officers who populate U.S. embassies overseas.

At any rate, our county's HS require 60 hours of Student Service Learning (75 for those graduating as of 2011) in order to graduate. This had been a requirement since well before my youngest graduated over 6 years ago.

"Student Service Learning (SSL)

Students must complete the MSDE Student Service Learning
requirement. Student service learning is distinguished from
volunteering or community service by the opportunity it provides for
students to improve their academic skills by applying what they learn
in school to the real world. They then reflect on their experience to
reinforce the link between their service and their learning."

I think a more pertinent question, one worthy of its very own thread, would be ...

Has ATS become an American side show ?

Because as a "foreigner" who's dipped my toes in and out of ATS over many years I can't remember a time when non-US content has been so notable by its absence. Indeed, I can't remember a time when the fate of ATS has been so inextricably linked to the United States & its troublesome politics (as demonstrated in the various "ATS in trouble" threads, even the flipped Old Glory in the ATS logo last week).

It's just Obama this, Obama that ... in the very same way it was Bush this, Cheney that last year ... and the constant left right bickering pollutes threads even where US politics aren't even the topic in hand.

And when foreign contributors dare pop their heads above the parapet to merely make a comment or to share some special insight they're invariably shot down in flames ... "you're foreign, you can't vote, your opinions are totally irrelevant". Or non-US opinions get twisted and turned into a US versus the world thing.

I can't remember a thread recently where a US contributor has said to a foreigner ... hey, that's an interesting point ... tell us more about your experience with that, give us some more detail ...

And it's a two way street too, non-US people are as bad sometimes.

There's the rub. When have you ever heard someone say ... I've changed my mind ? For all these hundreds, thousands of pages of turgid reading ... no-one's listening to each other.

Well, very few are.

And those few find their thoughtful posts completely swamped in a sea of flotsam and jetsam, posted by vexatious contributors of both the left and right who aren't interested in ATS because ATS for them serves only as the medium through which they vent their bile. They don't care that non-US people are tuning out because for them the non-US don't count. They don't care that some parts of the forum seem less active because those parts of the forum don't count either.

All that counts is getting the current incumbent out of the White House.

And this is supposedly the lull period post-election ... what on earth will ATS be like in two years time when thoughts are moving towards the next Presidential election ?

ATS will be insufferable by then. It already is now. And some selfish US contributors should hang their heads in shame because with every post, with every ding-dong thread, they're slowly killing ATS off.

The visitor stats may say otherwise ... a hugely popular site is ATS according to the stats ... but roadcrashes are hugely popular with the viewing public, huh ?

Very interesting. Where is this school located?

I will place my expected wisecrack about the viability of things learned in school and its relevance to the real world in reserve.

The difference between Obama and Bush is Obama actually got elected in the first place.

The difference between Obama and Bush is Obama is thinking for the middle class while Bush thought for the rich.

It struck hard when my mom became ill, and was worried sick the whole night (me, being the upfront person that I am) told her to go actually be proactive research it on the internet and if you're still worried go to the doctor. She replies. That's easy for you to say, you don't have to pay for it. (Military.) I forgot how right she is about that. All these 'Right Wingers' are generally already covered by healthcare and are upper middle class. Look down at the people that actually need it. Try to step out of you own bubble and see the world for how it really is. I like how on Real Time with Bill Maher last friday the one guy goes to a townhall meeting, he talks to people who compare Obama to Hitler. Then he goes to South Central LA and sees all the people who are getting help from a health organization that usually helps 3rd world countries where most people can't afford healthcare. A point is brought up that Hitler's ideas of healthcare were from Roosevelt, and other corporate leaders that thought up the idea and brought it up to a meeting that Hitler attended. The guy brings up the point that "Wasn't Hitler known for something else though? It rythmes with Muorld Muar Mew..." lol. He also brought up that trying to compare Bush or Obama to Hitler is very lazy and generic. Which is true. I can understand disagreeing with something, the essence of arguement. Actually research why you're mad, and see why you have a problem, search real resources, and not just sources from that idiot Palin on facebook. Deathpanels.....lol.....wow.

I've always figured that republicans are the only ones that see the gov. is deep, corrupt and too large for its own good. I'd almost think the theme of this website is the ideas and theories of what our large gov. is doing behind its doors. I love how republicans spent the last 8 years listening to liberals complain day in and day out. Now when its the lefts turn to take all the criticism, you turn around and act surprised....call the opposition right wing nuts and radicals. Stop, think, listen to what the people on the right might be trying to tell you. They just don't want to live in a communistic country.

Why are you so upset? You should be laughing at those of us that consider ourselves conservatives. You won, we lost. You have the Senate, POTUS, the House, the media.

Why are you so upset that there are those of us that exercise our first ammendment rights?

Do you want us to shut up? Shut us out? Shut us down? Want to start censoring what we post, what threads we start?

Why in the hell are you liberals so damn angry all the time?

You appear to need someone to hate.
What? Smokers not enough for you? How about christians? Why not hate them for a while and leave us alone. You could always pick on someone who started their own business, liberals hate those greed-heads who have money!

Relax, NoJoker. Relax. We may have comments that you disagree with, but if they majority is saying something that you don't agree with, maybe (just maybe) you might be wrong.

Okay, do you remember when you were a little kid and someone would say something dumb and made no sense, you would say correct and logical thinking and the other kids would still believe the dumb thing, and you would get mad? It's kind of the same thing.

The really cool thing about individuality is that as individuals, we connect the same dots in different ways, with different perspectives, beliefs, attitudes and desires.

What you think you are observing may be accurate for you. But personally, I think you are perpetuating what you are accusing others of.
