Good riddance. If you can't take an objective view, you fail, goodbye.

You both cannot preach "open minded" philosophies when you can't follow what you preach. A voice of reason and intelligence would be able to rationally discuss any topic with someone that disagrees with them. Avoid the trolls if you must, I have never found objective views to be destructive to reason nor the progress of a conversation. In fact, I can disagree full Heartedly with people I would otherwise consider friends on here. If there as no objection and we all just agreed.. ATS would not be a fun place to be around.

funny it seems that you are the one with the agenda :shk:

Seriously now your verbage is exactly what I would expect from someone parroting some talking points memo. Your implication that how dare he question "our president" is exactly the same scrutiny Bush and company was under.

Lets all grow some thicker skin and rise above this eh?

Do you approve of his solicitation of his services to create a competitive forum?
I thought that this was a violation of T & C.

I have decided the problem simply is this. People elected Obama to change things. Now that he is changing things, it is downright scarey. People WANT things to be better, but when faced with those actual changes, it is a big scarey.

People have issues with change. People don't like to let go with what is comfortable. So they steamroll everything they can in order to prevent it.

I think everyone needs to read: Who Moved My Cheese.

This country just has been going through so much in the last decade. Two wars, the first black president, the largest recession since the depression. And now health care reform. I think it has all become a bit much for people to handle.

I think what people realy want is just life as they knew it.

Well then from what I gather you are an America-first kind of person and support the current office holder of the presidency as respect of the office and (by proxy) the person holding the office. You are not afraid to point out mistakes that a president has made once their plan has come to fruition.

So do you trust that what may seem questionable at the time policies and stances are due to information that we may not be fully privy to and therefore what appears odd would seem a logical course of action if we had all the information?

If so, do you feel that those in the position and possess the ability to run for office are the best qualified to make such decisions for us? Is there something about the kind of person that seeks such power that makes them look out for the best interest of the people that do not?

If not, was this thread a psychological test to stir up the the already angry bears for your amusement or validate a premiss that only 1 in 10 actually think beyond the talking points and party platform mantras? If this is the case, do have a grand notion that perhaps you can reach the other 90% and make them wake up and realize that so long as we are divided and unthinking that nothing will advance beyond their our base ideologies?

Ideologically speaking whenever ten people are introduced to an idea, 2-3 will like it. 2-3 will hate it and the remaining 4-6 will be on the fence. In a group of 7 it almost always follows a 1-5-1 split. In both cases reaching compromise and agreement depends largely on who presented the idea and the natural leadership qualities of the people for or opposed to the idea to reach a decision or compromise to enact the idea.

Political leanings are similar to ideologies. Politics are all about reaching the 4-6 or 5 as the case may be. However the 4-6 usually are more concerned with their own lives. These are the people that do not vote. Obama won the last election primarily by reaching into those 4-6, motivating them to vote. The right became very offended by this as their reaching was done as it was in the past. Lip service to 4-6.

The problem with empowering "the disenfranchised" the 4-6 is that now no one is sure if they will become involved or go back to disinterested in the future. Voters tend to vote traditionally. With these new voters voting democrat, odds are they will vote democrat again if they chose to vote at all in the future. All this means is changing the game plan to account for that possibility. So there is much at stake for the 2010 election cycle for the right. The right is a bit louder now, not just because they hold no power but to overcome the unknown factor.

Currently the left, realizing how the election was won, is trying to keep those people involved and in the voting process in order to keep their seats in 2010. Unfortunately, it is in the form of bribes by giving away lots of taxpayer money. Be it the stimulus (that hasn't stimulated much of anything here on the ground) or free healthcare, the left is bribing the disenfranchised. I fully expect to see, if the healthcare bill passes, the political ads to be XXX(R) fought hard to prevent the wasting of taxpayer money the expansion of government and XXX(D) worked hard to bring healthcare to all Americans.

I admit that I am fired up enough to consider a run for the presidency in 2012 on the platform of putting an American in to office as opposed to a career politician. A two-fisted American to straighten out the corruption of DC, to stop the outsourcing of jobs and one of the few that has actually read and understands the Constitution to know that the President and the Federal Government works for the the American people and the other way around.

Joker I agree with what you have said. To be a conservative in the USA you must most often be a certifiably avowed hypocrite. But guess what, the die has been cast, they have chosen their lot. They have chosen lies and deceit over truth and justice. On the judgment day they will "run for the rock (to hide behind), but there will be no rock". They love to talk about choices, but it is they themselves who chose lies and deceit. If you believe that good will overcome evil, then why chose the tools of evil to begin with? A convenient truth that is deliberately ignored is that fascism is a right wing system, not a left wing system, whereas socialism is more associated with the left. So when a leftist is accused of fascism transference is being performed. Transferring one's own guilty conscience onto the someone they oppose, perhaps to hide their own agenda.
But mark my words, the liars will go down in infamy. They will reap what they sow. There is no escape. I wish you could repent now, but that is impossible at this stage because you have become the lies themselves.

Although I consider myself conservative, I also have a lotof liberal views and ideas..etc. So I don't classify myself as anything like republican or democrat.. But yes I've noticed A LOT of what I call right wing extremists on this site too. But whatever, its a free country, they can be here if they want. I think some of them are probably kids trolling too and trying to stir the pot, judging from some things I've seen posted on here.

Just how ridiculous would it appear if I started a "Lets get rid of all the liberals stinking up ATS" thread.

I would be branded a narrow-minded bigot, hater, hillbilly with nothing but a mean agenda. I would be called a nazi and fascist for not appreciating others views.

I would be strung up the flag pole of free speech and stoned to literal death.

I would be told that there are laws in place to put people like me in jail.

But I guess it's ok to do that to people who believe differently than liberals.

-pathetic-

Lighten up, I made an observation regarding my participation on loony free forums. The liberal mindset is rational, open minded, thirsty for knowledge and change. THIS facilitates the BEST forum discussions possible. Not some mindless hill billies invading threads and telling people they are going to hell and Obama is the anti-christ. If wanting to discuss topics in a scientific and rational way sickens you then so be it!

What, exactly, are you? You obviously aren't a conservative, but you don't fit your own definition of liberal, as stated here, either. You're so 'open minded' that everyone who might *possibly* disagree with you is a "loony", or a "mindless hillbilly" (sorry for the inexact quote, I had to fix your spelling. "Hillbilly" is actually a single word. Y'all bettah b'lieve it, I know how't spell't!).

In fact, you come across as the very thing you claim to deplore...denigrating those who disagree with you, wanting them banned from the board, even offering to start a new board where such as they would not be welcome. Could we sneak in if we promises to only ride in the back of de bus, massah?

the idea that america is a democracy, even from the start really is totally unfounded. we are and have always been a two-party system.. we choose from two parties and only two-parties and anyone else from anything else is blocked out, cast aside and slandered as not worthy of voting for, extremism, etc. as far as i know a democracy is being able to choose from anybody... we definately dont do that here in america do we... dems and reps are very much the same governemnt weve always had.. nothing changes because were just picking the same people over and over.. i believe there def. needs to be some kind of revolution to where america has smaller governemnt, less centralized and more democratic... we dont have to control the world, lets worry about america first.. conspiracists are naturally right wing because you challenge the norm... if you can even call it right wing, its simply opening your eyes to thinking outside the box, knowing the human condition you know thru commmon sense that we are sneaky, backstabbing, awful creatures anyways...

ATS isn't right-wing, it's anti-government.
You assume that just because people are against Obama, they are right-wing.
This is very shortsighted, in my opinion.

Opposition to Nazi's is a good thing. Nothing hateful about that.

The definition of Nazi is National Socialism, the expanision of state control of the economy. Since this is exactly what Obama is doing the comparison is unavoidable. He has already taken over banks, autos, now he wants to take over the medical field. How much more can he take over before we call him the Fuhrer?

Economic definitions:

Recession: When your neighbor loses his job.
Depression: When you lose your job.
RECOVERY: When Obama loses his job!

I want Obama to fail....for the sake of our country!

NO. They are NOT the same thing. Nazis were nationalists. They were not socialists. They hated socialists. There is a gigantic difference between National Socialist and socialists. Please realize that.

Maybe they enjoy being anti-government and they will never really support anyone just because it isn't "cool" to do.

I thought they were Socialist that hated Fascist and Communist.. or rather, they were Fascist and the Communist were Socialist and the Fascist were really just confused, or the Fascist were communist and the Communist were Fascist and the Socialist were really just Socialist?

Socialism blended with Corporatism is the generally accepted terminology for a Fascist.. which, I think describes America quite well. Republicans specifically are Fascist. But so are Democrats. Because besides social issues which isn't included in ANY definition .. they are not different at all.

I don't know. The term, "national socialism" is very vague. But it's safe to say that the nazi's are not comparable to today's socialism.

Either side calling each other a "Nazi" is just short of any sort of logical argument and are just looking for an easy finger to point. But we're all to blame.
