Hear hear.

The spread of POMOist tripe (usually google-based and ideologically driven) where any old flaky opinion is given an equality with well-founded evidence-based positions only favours the loons and fools - Dunning-Kruger personified. How did it go in Big-bang theory:

Sheldon: "This is my home now. I shall spend the rest of my life teaching Evolution to Creationists."

Mom: "Now hold on there mister. People have a right to their own opinion."

Sheldon: "But mom! Evolution isn't an opinion, it's a fact."

Mom: "AND THAT'S YOUR OPINION!"

Been getting worse ever since I signed up here, the rational voices have become quieter and fewer over time and eventually disappear. Pity.

Hey-ho.

The problem there is that I was a left-wing nut last year, and this year I'm a right-wing nut. Last year I was blinded by my hatred of Bush, this year I'm blinded by Beck and Hannity into hatred of Obama. Last year I was unpatriotic, this year I'm racist. As are many, many, many posters on this site. At least according to some we are. Never mind the fact that this is a conspiracy site and a lot of people who disapprove of both sides are going to be drawn here.

There are enough people on this site who disapprove of both sides for them to be the rule, not the exception. But it's much easier to try and pass us all off as Beck zombies or racists than to accept the fact that we are entitled to hate Bush and Obama equally and that many of us do.

I really don't see where you're going with this. I hate Obama and I'm very left wing.

You're irrationally defensive and argueing for the sake of argueing. I haven't said that disliking Obama makes you a Beck-loving-loon, or a right-wing nut. So why are you implying that I've said or suggested as much?

What I'm saying is this, to reiterate; This forum has seen as increase of right-wing Beck-loving loons. And it has.

If you aren't trying to deny the above then there's no need to respond, as there's nothing to talk about.

Politicians that take a dump on the constitution should be removed and prosecuted and in the most severe cases, executed for treason in the worst case scenario, and according to treason law, it is still punishable by death.

Are you including Bush after he took a rather large dump on the constitution, or are you only talking about Obama? If you're talking both...

That's what I've been saying since I first responded to you. There hasn't been an influx of Beck-followers. People have just re-focused their anger and disapproval on Obama because he's in office. Calling them Beck-followers doesn't make it true.

As I previously stated in my original post on here and the subsequent ones thereafter, I do not agree that ATS has turned into a "right-wing" sideshow.

ATS, has always been about Denying Ignorance, and there are people from the left and right here.

Are You "Right-Wing Fringe", or "Left-Wing Fringe" and How Will They Push You

Exactly. There hasn't been an influx of right-wing loons recently any more than there was an influx of left-wing loons prior to the election. Truth doesn't care about political ideologies. Forcing people into a hole they don't fit in by calling them a left-wing or right-wing nut just so you can dismiss what they say as blindness is just ridiculous and that's what I see happening a lot.

Nice thread, by the way. Don't know how I missed it before.

But there has been an influx of Beck-followers. Again you confuse who I'm referring to, being angry at Obama does NOT make you a beck-follower. I'm angry at Obama. I'm referring to a completely different group of people. I'm actually referring to Beck-loving-loons, not wrongly slandering anyone who dares criticise Obama.

Stop nitpicking. Of course with Obama as president and Beck ever popular we've seen more and more right-wingers signing up to ATS. There's no false-naming on my behalf.

I suppose when Bush was president we didn't see an influx of left-wingers... That was just my imagination and assumptive self

I greatly dislike and disrespect this right/left wing dichotomty which the media, public education, and the body politic play constantly on the American Public.

In my very biased opinion this is a scam to put people into a block or pit ..a default setting ..into which someone can now label you and or attempt to control you.

I do not believe the right of left is the same thing as conservative.

It is my belief that many Americans are conservative..and not as liberal as many in power would like to take for granted that we are.

Hence the need to label and box people in as right or left.

I have come to believe that both the right and left will sell Americans short for political lucre. I believe they have both done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

I have come to the conclusion that politics is today the art of selling, bartering, or trading the very souls of a people for lucre or political power. I do not think this is a new phenomonon. I just think that new technologies have been developed to aid in this soul selling. What is becoming obvious about this is that todays politics seems so entrenched in entitlement thinking/values that they no longer feel the need to hide that they are not interested in representing the American People....but ruling/lording over them. A corner has been turned here somewhere.

I also believe public education is a very important facet to the process of selling, bartering, and trading the souls of Americans for lucre and or power. I say this because the body politic obviously pays for and finances public education. The body politic will only pay for the end product they desire..not what the public desires or wants. Some here who are so busy playing the left /right nonsense very obviously miss this line of thought.

Public education today has become an emotional jag..grooming the next generation of drama queens. It has become a television education. This type of end product is easily controlled by their emotional immaturity when entering the voting booth. Coming elections will bear this out.

The media is guilty of carrying on this continued education in drama queen techniques to further solidify the end product.

JIMC5499 states it quite correctly here in this quote..

I was fortunate enough to have attended school when critical thinking was taught and to have been set enough in my ways to avoid the brain washing called college.

I would like to have a better education than currently I do. I do not believe I could get along with many of the professors in todays colleges sufficient to pass the cirruculum.

To many drama queens out here and it shows up here on ATS.

Glen Beck ..while interesting is also a drama queen...be very careful of Glen Beck. For I know that there are certain topic lines Glen Beck will not touch upon which have a great bearing on how our government is stealing, bartering, and trading our very souls for political lucre.
Glen Beck too..plays the right/left card quite well...while appearing to be conservative.

Also be very careful of Fox News...just like all the other networks. Teach yourself to be critical of Fox as well. Fox is not the last word on everything. Look at Fox News critically as well as the other networks and also public education.

Thanks,
Orangetom

Possibly this website is cluttered with so many of these uneducated wannabe intellectualist is because of the increasing popularity of right winged conspiracy theories(like anything Alex Jones, David Icke says, NWO, ETC).

Many PCT's on this website as well. (Paranoid conspiracy theorist).

Alot of people people like to scapegoat the left with their problems in life on this website.

Went to public school Ignorance_Defier?? Never got past a pubic school education??? Educated intellectual peoples can balance a budget can they not?? Yet you dont see an Intellectual Educated class of peoples in government being able to accomplish this. I dont put much stock in Intellectualism as do so many. Nor education per se. I put stock in certain character traits first ..then common sense..followed by education and intellectualism. Intellectualism and education are not it per se. This world is full of educated intellecutal peoples to whom I wouldnt trust with tying their shoes...nor mine.

When we finally get intellectual educated peoples in government who can balance a budget I will give credit where credit is due. However as to now...neither left or right can seem to do this..neither democrat or republican. Thus indicating clearly to me that neither is the product they tend to advertise. They are both fake as is the left right dichotomy.

You dont have to be particularly smart, intellectual, or educated to reason this out for yourself. You just have to teach yourself to think outside of a public school, television/movie education.

Hope this helps some of the readers out here see clearly and get off the eduated, intellectual bandwagon as the apex of everything.

Thanks,
Orangetom

In a word, yes, it has become a right-wing sideshow.

It's especially interesting that very many people on here claim to have no "side" but hate both major parties. In many cases I believe they're libertarians. It is disingenuous to claim that you are absolutely objective and unbiased; to think you are is a sure sign of self-delusion.

In fact I agree with the post-modernists who claim that there is no such thing as complete objectivity. We can strive for some measure of balance and impartiality, but the truth is we're all shaped by conscious and unconscious drives, education, social conditioning, life experiences, both good and bad, and etc.

I myself strive to recognize my own biases and accept them, but of course I cannot be objective about myself; I can only hope to recognize and identify my ideologies and learn to either live with them or consciously change them.
