Er, I can see your points within reason, but here's some food for thought.

They've invested heavily in the CA-4, Cuba, and South America. Let's say they chalk these lives, and investments up to no big deal........for argument's sake I could see that. The control, power, and money obtained would out weigh those lives mentioned above.

However, China has HUGE investment's in the same area. I'm sitting in the CA-4 now, I make trips into Mexico a lot. English is no longer the hottest language to learn. Now, Mandarin Chinese is becoming a popular second language for the guys who used to run north to the States for sustenance.

Heck, for that matter China is invested in the US; via treasury bonds.

If you can think of what, or how the Russians would by China's interest out, then I can see your point.

It depends on whether it is a false flag or not. I mean it depends on which side is pulling the trigger. It could be a Russian false flag sort of operation, so they could pretend to be innocent afterwards? Imagine if the mega tsunami did happen. The US would be crushed, and the UK too. Russia would not be hit by it, and Russia could once again become the world's leading super power (with China).

Hellmutt,

That scenario you have listed is not impossible and in the USA's case, undefendable...at least the east coast.......fianancially, they would be destroyed and most likely relegated to a third world nation status...there would be refugees everywhere......martial law with what was left, perfect scenario/situation for an invasion of the US if anybody wanted to....but you would need months of buildup before attempting an invasion and the rest of the world would see it coming.

But your scenario, if enacted according to plan would put the grand chessboard within 2 moves of check mate, dont you think?

Russia would have the world power monopoly and would try very quickly to undermine and cut China off at the knees to avoid another potential rival in the scenario on its eastern side.....

How quickly things could flip about to what we are so used to now......

To say it couldn't happen is being ignorant I beleive....the probability might be low, but not entirely impossible.....

If proven a foreign power was involved in the canary island/mega tsunami attack, I beleive it would warrant nuclear retaliation if possible.....

could it be possible that munitions were loaded on the vessel without the ships compliments knowledge.
the vessel is then boarded by 10 men , could they of been weapons specialists . they were certainly educated to be able to disable the communications and AIS equipment.
i find it hard to believe that a vessel can dissapear in this day and age given the amount of shipping plying the seas and sattelite coverage.
it is not unheard of to alter the look of the vessel and its name , 10 men in 12 hrs plenty of time !
could the vessel now be using a cloned or different AIS code .
these are purely speculative questions .
as for russian premier sending vessels to look for the ARCTIC SEA russia in previous years has had an appaling record of looking after its mariners [ no thanks to the US]so it would make sense to win back the people by being seen to do something for the 15 famillies involved

Yeah, I guess so. I was sort of thinking loud. I guess only terrorists would gain from such attack. And it's not even 100% certain that a nuke would manage to create a Cumbre Vieja mega-tsunami. Such an attempt could fail and backfire.

Someone should compile a list of known facts in the case. Even I'm confused with all the speculation and guessing. I'd contribute to that list.

Yeah, we've had those reports before. We get so much of these that I won't believe it untill there is independent verification.

Yeah, same thought here. And I've been in this hellhole from -77

Local media is just copying what it can find from bigger agencies, as far I can tell none have gone to great lenghts to come up with original content. Mtv3 news had interviews from the docks yesterday where they said that the local fire department had been there to measure radio activity but now denies it. That's just about it from Finnish perspective.

Imagine if...:

Al Qaeda has managed to buy one or more suitcase nukes from the Russian mafia and got it planted on the ship somehow. Bin laden has a lot of money and the Russian mafia (if given enough money) could do such a thing. The Russian mafia could have arranged for the nukes to be placed on the ship, with or without the crew being aware of what the cargo is. An Al Qaeda sleeping cell in Sweden then took over the ship near the Swedish coast. The ship could now be heading towards Cumbre Vieja or some port somewhere. I hope I'm wrong...

From your link:

Theories have so far included fears that the crew have been coerced into smuggling weapons for the Russian mafia, that the crew has seized the ship in a dispute with its operators or that it had been converted into a “phantom ship” for the purpose of stealing cargos.

Hmmm...

Yet another unconfirmed report. Stop posting these unless there really is something new in the reports.

Just adding to this theory before I go to bed. Two sleeping cells. Team A boarded the ship near Sweden, in order to make sure that the nukes were really there. Made sure that the mafia held their part of the deal, and then left the ship. Then team B could have boarded the ship after it passed the english canal.

nukes passing throu finland is an most unlikely scenario

what i belive has happened is that the first strike was targeted at the wrong boat , then with all the media hype about a cargo worth 1.3m euros the second attack took place only to find out that they where carrying timber and nothing more.

So WTF now!?!?

Arctic Sea AIS radio has been turned on and one signal transmitted.
Latest position according to AIS: aprs.fi...
In biskaya Bay southwest from France.

Marinetraffic system also confirm the AIS signal coming from Biskaya:
www.marinetraffic.com...

AIS system sends signal once per minute and system has received just one signal from Arctic Sea. So this could mean that someone has turn on AIS in vessel and someone again tun it off immediately.

Curious location that. Maybe it was french commandos in the first place who boarded the ship
