Well, how about retracting your claws, eh? My initial post here, this thread, was directed toward the OP, but you seem to have decided I was offensive or something, and starting jumping down my throat, NOW hurling unwarranted accusatins at me, a person you don't even know.

I don't think there is any specific provison in the Constitution giving Congress authority to form the Social Security system, either. OR Medicaid, Medicare. Do you wish to aboloish EVERYTHING but the twenty or so things you mention from Article 1? Erase it, and start over?? What???

The Constitution, in original form, did not recognize a woman ( or certain ethnicities ) had a right to a vote. Shall we return to the very basics of the core Constitution, and toss out all of the Amendments?

I don't know what stokes your anger, but it sure seems to be misdirected.

YOU asked if I'm afraid of my own Countrymen, when I mentioned the Civil War...odd question, and really out of left field, to tell the truth.

Let me turn it to you: The things you are railing at, that Congress does, all those things are being done by individuals our fellow cxitizens have elected. Are you, I, anyone, now to be 'afraid' of them too?

I'm trying to find logic in your vitriol.

Until or unless substantial term limits are implemented, for the House and Senate, then this state of affairs is bound to continue. Elections aren't always a way to count on changing the 'representatives'...uncovering their private pecadillos, though....NOW we're talking!! Let's embarrass them out of office! Effective, and darn fun, too! And, THEY go to jail, not you for shooting a gun at them.......

Here is everything congress has the power to legislate over:




The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;

It fits in one post, and I don't see healthcare, socialist security, medicare, cap and trade, fiat currency, undeclared wars, bailout of private industry, or anything else our government is currently doing listed in there.

But, could you please wait until after I die? I don't have much to look forward to, but I've, like, paid all this money to Social Security during decades of work, and I'd like to be able to get some of it back....

Or, heck with it, guess I can sell everything and go to Hawai'i....that's another country, right??
At least, it's far enough from the mainland, we can just chill and watch the show.....

I doubt you will see any of it if you are under 60 at the rate we are going.

Whether the thugs and liars like it or not, there's going to be a revolution. There is no other way to beat this group of corrupt kleptocrats that have no regard for the rule of law or ethical conduct. Pro-government lackeys are now in the minority and they are either in denial or running scared. They have nothing to fear from the patriots however, they have to fear the consequences of the government retaliation for everyone.

The media minions are the ones fearmongering and stereotyping every expression of rights and free speech as extremist, and this BS reporting will only backfire as more people see through the deceit and stop trusting the government cheerleaders.

Calling people that disagree with obama racists at every opportunity? Why weren't we racists a month ago when we weren't speaking up? Did our racist genes suddenly switch on?


As far as I can see these media types have NEGATIVE credibility. psuedo-liberals, who are actually just control freaks, just can't stand the slaves standing up for themselves, they want to do all the thinking for you. I wouldn't give them the time of day.

One interesting thing to note, I hate to always be mentioning them but the webbots said a while back when things were calmer that during this timeframe people would start to lose faith in the msm and start turning to alternative sources. I'd have to agree with this assessment at this point.

That one almost looks like a catch-all provision. "...all Laws which shall be necessary...for...Execution (of) the foregoing Powers, and all other Poers..." etcetera.

I remember in Civics classes that the Constitution is considered to be a malleable document. As evidenced by the Amendments, of course.

I think it can be argued (certainly has been) that the Constitution can 'evolve' to adapt to the changing nature of time and technology, and the ever increasing size of the Country.

I'm not that eloquent, there are plenty of far, far better people to elaborate on this than me.

I DO find it interesting, though, about the provision related to the levying of taxes. So many people argue that the IRS is unlawful. Guess you need a law degree to understand it all.

The courts say the "general welfare" clause is the catch all.

Of course, they are wrong because in the 10th amendment they state clearly that only enumerated powers are to be granted to the federal government, with the remainder being reserved to the states.

Original rulings by the courts determined that the welfare of the US meant that the congress only had the power to legislate within the enumerated powers.


There would be no need for this:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

If congress simply had the power to create any law they wished if they felt it in the best interest of the nation. Again, that is clearly not the case.

Hmmm....my statement tells me that RIGHT NOW if I can qualify as 'disabled' my monthly benefit is $2957. Let's see....boat payment, slip rental, groceries....check. Little extra left over for recreation...check.
