If you don't like the current 5 versions of the Health Care Bill, don't despair. You can successfully add or delete anything you want. Forget the lobbyists and Congress. Any final bill must have Obama's signature.

Here is a dirty little secret.
Obama could care less WHAT is in the bill. The only fact that counts is that Obama wants A health care bill.

It is virtually agree by most renown specialists in the field, that Barack Obama is a narcissist. Let's look at the definition of a narcissist, according to the Mayo Clinic:

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental disorder in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance and a deep need for admiration. They believe that they're superior to others and have little regard for other people's feelings. But behind this mask of ultra-confidence lies a fragile self-esteem, vulnerable to the slightest criticism.

mayoclinic.com...

Here are some interesting facts concerning narcissists:

Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves. Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People’s Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist. David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao, Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time.

All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers. They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers’ souls, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life. They gave them hope! They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom. When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don’t know it until it is too late.

One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse. ‘Obama’s early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations,’ says Vaknin ‘Mixed-race marriages were even less common then. His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant (two years old). Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident. Then, his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia: a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a step-father. At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white) grandparents. He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished from his life in 1979. She died of cancer in 1995.’

www.timothybirdnow.com...

Continuing:

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists. They project such an imposing personality that it overwhelms those around them. Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands. They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service. The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image. He creates a cult of personality. His admirers become his co-dependents

Now here is the pertinent fact:

Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective. They are focused on one thing alone and that is power. All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities. Anything that does not help them is beneath them and do not deserve their attention. If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it. The ‘present’ vote is a safe vote. No one can criticize him if things go wrong. Why should he implicate himself in issues that may become controversial when they don’t help him personally? Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.

...
Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless. As the norm, they lack conscience. This is evident from Obama’s lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month. A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother. Why? Because, his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power. A narcissist cares for no one but himself.

Thus, Obama doesn't really CARE what it is the bill. What he cares about is that he gets SOME bill about health care, to satisfy his ego that he has done what he says. He will bend on virtually ANY issue regarding health care, just as long as he gets a bill. This trait is central to narcissists.

We have seen it in action recently. Although there are several specifics that he started out wanting in the bill, as public outcry attacked them, he has quickly backed off those specifics.

His "allies" understand this. That is WHY they are so quick to attack any public outcry, and try to stop it.

THEREFORE is it critical that if Americans want the bill changed, keep the heat on until he caves in. His allies, remember are co-dependent upon him. If he fails, they fail.

Jim Jones's Jonestown was financed by CIA. It was part of their mindcontrol research. It was probably their idea to have everyone commit suicide, answering the question If you kill their children, will people give up. I think this is important if we consider that the swine flu immunization plans begin at the schools.

I agree and concur with your profile of the current President good Professor. The facts speak clearly for themselves.
The President who touted himself on a bill of change and transparency has been glaringly transparent in regard to his personality, ego and insatiable need for adulation.

The fact of the matter is that as the plebian class of the United States begins to rise up and assert it’s voice in part in fear and anger and in part because the internet tool has become a catalyst for self learning and increased awareness the representatives themselves are now facing what they have long feared might occur through out the long decades of tyrannical rule. The thin blue line of authority that protects their malfeasance and incompetence and corruption from the justice of the plebian masses is beginning to buckle, deteriorate and crumble under the mounting pressure of the masses.

While those people who see this as a threat to health care and a political cult of personality inspired narcissist charismatic dictator who has captured their hearts and minds through his disingenuous nature and artifice, it truly is a victory for us all that Congress, the Administration and the Media are becoming aware painfully, that the citizens once again in this once mighty democracy and Republic are standing up and speaking out again with angry and determined voice to hold the corrupted government finally to account.

This is a very disconcerting development for the corporate rulers and Masters who hold hegemony over the Corporate Government and a threat to their rule and power that they must ultimately reward the plebeians with real concessions to keep from having the very bedrock of their system torn asunder under the mounting weight of protest!

Good job America! You are finally beginning to wake up and discard the debilitating weight of the shackles and balls and chains you have been anchored with into a too long and to detrimental state of morass.

The good Professor is right; the boisterous rancor in which citizens are proclaiming themselves sovereign and with rights once more under the Constitution instead of Corporate Law is shaking the foundations and bedrock of the corporate system and Corporate Government.

They will give in order to keep their power when the people will no longer allow them to take and dictate.

This Bill can reflect the will of the people, for the first time in a long time if the people keep standing up and shouting out I am free, I have rights, hear me speak, address my desires and my grievances I WANT A CONSTIUTIONAL FORM OF GOVERNMENT.

Bravo professor, bravo America, let freedom reign once more!

Thank you for your kind and well-expressed response. Your words, as always, are very important, because you speak without malice, without partisanship, and with the good of the American public foremost in your mind.
I believe that with people like you we can win back the country. Posts like yours are the first step. I hope people will heed your wise words.

My "health care bill" would institute the path to abundance - making it an economic bill, health care bill, tax bill (or rather elimination of taxes...), and pretty much any other bill.

Bingo!!!!!

He wants to rack up points for his reelection. If he cared about the issue, he would ask Congress to slow it down, read the bill, eliminate any pork, and close loopholes that will benefit lobbyists.

Correct, and THAT is how we can beat them at their own game. Put the pressure on the President, not just Congress.

We can only but try Professor! The surest way to fail is to do nothing at all. For too long the culture of 'you can't fight city hall' and 'I fought the law and the law one' has dominated in America as well as 'I am just a little guy what can I do?'...

First to stop thinking of yourself in incosequential terms.

The Greeks who invented Democracy chided that it only works and works best when all voices concerned speak up and are heard.

Our own Republican turned Corporate version of Democracy has now for decades and decades manufactured a false perspective of what makes Democracy work and conspired against the good citizens to discourage them from believing their voice counts, while enticing them to believe falsely that somehow without having their voices heard that they are adequately represented.

One look at our world and nation today says...NO...we haven't been, simply by voting for a preselected slate of candidates provided to us by corporate interests once ever 2, 4 or 6 years depending on the post.

Creating and maintaining and effective and healthy democracy and being truly represented in it takes far more effort and imput than that.

Getting people to believe they can make a difference, can and should be heard, and getting them to speak up and out, is the only path to gauranteeing that they shall ever be heard and our nation functioning as a true democratic representative republic it was meant to be but long ago ceased being for lack of the citizens holding their elected leaders to account.

Accounts should now be settled!

I believe perhaps for the first time in a long time that they are.

Great thread Professor.

The FIRST thing I would do - or add - or change....

Make sure that EVERYONE from the President, his family, government officials, top corporate execs ALL HAVE to have the SAME PLAN.

Then let us see what 'they' change.

You mean that the politicians should stoop to the level of us lowly peons?
It's a great idea. When they actually vote to do that, then, and only then, will I believe that there are no timebombs in the bill.

True, and the Greek Democracy was perhaps the closest that civilization has come to true Democracy, unless of course, we believe that Camelot actually existed.

As usual, your ideas and observations are right on.

Sadly Professor judging by the popularity of some of our recent non-partisan threads advocating intelligent, reasoned, and civil action, this type of approach is not that attractive to Americans used to the rancorous spectacle of divide and conquer, dog and pony show politics.

Americans tossed a meatless bone like in the non-plan, we don't have a real plan yet, but want to do it soon Health Care Bill(s) love to pick on, chew on that bone like a dog, and one side loves to try to run away with that bone like a pony...but getting either side to put some real meat on the bone and cook a stew is...

Well as you can see a bit problematic.

If I could ask President Obeyme a question, I would ask "Have you read this health bill completely and if not, why would you pass something that impacts every American and generation"

On June 30, 2003, speaking to an AFL-CIO Civil, Women's, and Human Rights Conference, Obama said:

"I happen to be a proponent of single payer universal health care plans. . . A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that's what I'd like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House."

Portsmouth, New Hampshire on August 11, President Obama said this:

"I have not said that I was a single-payer supporter, because, frankly, we historically have had a employer-based system in this country, with private insurers, and for us to transition to a system like that, I believe would be too disruptive."
