Is US Chief Information Officer (CIO) Vivek Kundra a Phony?

Topic started on 12-8-2009 @ 12:54 PM by FreezeM

I'm not sure if this would qualify for the "Breaking News" section yet, as it is only reported on one blog. But the story is to good not to post it here and see what else we can find out about Vivek Kudra.

According to John C. Dvorak the US Chief Infromation Officer Vivek Kudra does not actually have the diplomas he says he has. The University of Maryland has no record of Kudra getting his MS in Information Technology.

In fact the current University of Maryland grad department doesn’t even show this degree as being commonly available to anyone. A search of his college records shows no attendance after he received his BS degree in Psychology on 12/20/98. In fact his last day of school 12/19/98 wrapped up the six years it took Kundra to obtain his undergraduate degree.

Kudra further claims he was CEO of Creostar.

While records for this company are hard to come by a small Dun & Bradstreet service did turn up the following information: there was indeed a Creostar in Arlington, VA. It was founded in 2004 with the contact being Vivek Kundra. The last record for the company (online) showed sales of $67,000 with one employee – apparently Kundra, the CEO.

Go over to John C. Dvorak's site and read the full story, including screendumps of the records obtained by him. It's interesting to see how this will unfold. I'm also wondering if this could have any thing to do with the FBI raids that took place at the Judiciary Square office of Washington, D.C.'s Chief Technology Officer, days after Kundra was appointed as US CIO . The raid were discussed on ATS: www.abovetopsecret.com...

According to Beliefnet the White House has responded to John C. Dvoraks claims with the following statement:

I reached out to the White House and a spokesperson dismissed the article as "a gross smear" on Kundra and called it "highly inaccurate." According to the spokesperson, the doubts might have arisen from the fact that Kundra went to University of Maryland's University College instead of College Park. Those are two different colleges within the University of Maryland system. The spokesperson said that Kundra has excelled at his job as the US CIO.

Hmmm... what do you guys think? I don't think Dvorak is the kind of guy that would purposely come out with false information just to smear somebody.

I would have thought ATS members would be excited to investigate this

Dvorak now acknowledges in an update that the MS degree has been found but asks where the biology degree is?
