I just found this article explaining how to help any 'grounded' bees you might find - it seems some sugared water will be beneficial for them. I often find bees and try to find flowers to put them in, but this quick fix seems a far better idea.

It is common practice to use sugar water on a new nuc or nucleus hive before placing them in a new beehive. There are sugar and syrup mixes that are used to feed commercial bees during lean times so that they can save honey stores to survive through the winter.

It helps to have shallow water sources that the bees can easily crawl out of or to put a stick or branch into it so they have something to crawl onto.

I am pretty sure they prefer a nice single malt or maybe if they are urban bees then possibly a carling!!
How do you know if a bees tired or if he's just chilling after a hectic day??
In all seriousness its a great tip as we seem to losing them quicker than most countries, so they need all the help they can get.

Well, of course they like a bee-r.

You can tell when they're tired because they wear their little bj's

And when they're just chilling they relax in their beekinis by the pond.

Badgerprints - Thank you very much for the suggestion about the stick - it makes a lot of sense.

Oni xx - I put a drink out for them today, too.
