The leader has been jailed by the military and this is the nobel peace prize winner

The arrest of the American in her house was what led to this sentence

The leader is a symbol of hope for millions of people around the world.

The election are being held in Burma for the first time in 20 years and she will not be a part of it.

The military is doing this so that she cannot participate in the elections

She has been under house arrest for 19 years, they just want to
imprison her someplace where she cannot get unexpected visitors.

This is one of the shining examples of how the US does not
support democracy around the world unless there is something
in it for them.

No oil, or something else to exploit, so the crime is allowed to
carry on for decades and it shows the UN is nothing but a farce.

Countless other instances of this are seen around the world.

Sudan being another good example of genocide and forced
removal of a population by 3rd party proxy paramilitaries.

The UN, the USA, and most of Europe are a joke in regards to this.

No one in the so called civilized world in power gives a rats behind
other than to offer flowery words and Rangoon Rhetoric.

All a bunch of propaganda, all a bunch of plastic ppl with plastic smiles.

Exporting or defending Democracy when it suits their wallets.

Pathetic...

Starred and Flagged for sure, a sign of the evil in the world...

What I can't help feeling is that someone, somewhere paid that D@$%head, John Yettaw or whatever the hell his name is, to swim across the lake just to precipitate this action that has just taken place against this Hero of the people. She should be freed and he should be beheaded, it is his fault and not hers! All she is guilty of is being a good person and host letting him stay overnight, probably knowing full well that she was placing herself in jeopardy, now she pays the price for the a__hole doing what he for sure knew would not bring her any good! He should rot in jail, seven years is not enough What, if anything, was he thinking?

18 months is nothing.

In Singapore, you can get jailed for 7 years for using your neighbor's wifi connection. How PATHETIC Singapore is.

18 months might be "nothing" to you, but to this poor woman who is guilty of nothing except believing in democracy, and who has been in jail or under "house arrest" for the past 18 to 19 years, who "legitimately WON the last free and fair election in Myanmar, and will now be under "house arrest" until AFTER the next "free and fair" elections, which will no doubt be WON by the illegally ruling military junta, it probably feels like forever. She will never again be able to stand in an election and probably win again as they are now planning to change the constitution, if one can call it that when a uniform is running/ruining the country, to read that if one has had children with a "foreigner" you cannot stand in an election!
You know so little and dare to judge!
And "using" your neighbours wifi connection is "STEALING" so jail time is right and GOOD!

I resent that statement, on the account of it being vile and ignorant.

Please don't be so hateful towards those who do not deserve it.
