Updated Drivers....

I have a Dell XPS 410.

3gb mem, 250 HD - Intel Dual Core processors.

I've had it about 4 years now. It runs great, thanks to the hours and hours of education that I've received from my IT specialist.

It just hit me tonight, that I've never updated the drivers.

Is this important or even necessary? Have they been automatically updated through the windows updates?

Naturally, you will go to dell.com and look for any and all updateds drivers.

That said, beyond that we have to take on a per hardware items:
vid card/soundcard.......

Oh....

Well the thing is... If I update the drivers and ANYTHING goes wrong, they're be hell to pay from Mrs Elevated. :shk:

do your regular windows updates and sometimes they include hardware driver updates. yes updating drivers is easy but it requires some basic knowledge of how to put it back to the old version in case you have a problem. if you don't feel comfortable then don't do it, stick with your windows updates. only update drivers if you feel like you are having some sort of issue.

if you happen to know someone with IT experience then go ahead and update them yourself, it's good to have someone handy in case there is a problem.

El, you will "NOT" take "ANY" hardware drivers from M$.

They are always old ones and often problematic.bnghd:

I've already found my "service tag" number for the XPS and went to Dell, I see all the drivers there available for DL.

Just waiting for the Mrs. to have something to do, so that I can have access to both computers.
