About 250 Inmates Hurt In Riot At Chino Prison

A California state prison near Los Angeles remained on lockdown after a riot sent 55 prisoners to hospitals.

A switchboard operator at the California Institution for Men in Chino said the lockdown Sunday would remain in effect "indefinitely."

Basically last night around 8:00 everyone started rioting in unison.

Evidently this was sparked by "racial tensions".

Anyone have any other information on the background of this? If so please contribute. I'm interested in hearing about any other thing which might be behind this.

Latino V Black wasn't it- think I read somewhere this was a prison where they tried to "desegregate" the racial groupings- if so, that worked out well didn't it
