I have got to say that those [Politically-charged insult] have really got a strangle hold on the [politically-charged slur]. Seriously, it's gotten to the point that a [handsome man] like myself can't just walk into a bar pick up an [attractive female] without [incestuous Federal law enforcement personnel] busting in the [incestuous door] and demanding I show [identification that has been condemned by God]. Seriously, when will these [incestuous pre-1945 German military personnel] stop ruining the country.

The last sign of the coming Apocalypse will be rampant censorship. Let us hope we never see that [incestuous period of time].

sorry to repeat a few peoples ideas though i have to agree.....its easier to talk/argue about religion and politics. they are topics which have been around since the start of time so being nasty and confrontational is nature.

topics such as shapeshifters, aliens, paranormal on the other hand have been around for awhile yes, though arnt yet fully grasped so it takes alittle more effort to conjure a response and time is what most people dont have at the moment (thankyou 'now' generation).

heres hoping the more intresting, more worthier, topics will make a comeback.

It is becoming unbearable - most of the trouble comes from 2009 registered members - NOT all - but all I have seen so far are 2009 registered.

I really do not see ATS as any different than ability to cope in any other part of society. It seems that people by in large are unable to handle conflict and resort immediately to violence, and I see all sorts of places.

Example, if I order a coffee and they leave an inch at the top cause some people like cream, I just ask politely can I get more in the cup. People usually comply, and sometimes a clerk might say about how much coffee is being wasted, and well we then talk about who's coffee it is that is being wasted, but it is all low key, no hassle.

But then I see people, go completely berzerk, and the escalation is almost immediate. I am not sure what is causing it, I think possibly people have so little control in their own lives they try to exert control over other things in their life like this board.

Earlier in this thread someone said that a person has to be smart or have the butt handled to them intellectually, I wish that was the case. However often here the first things typed are an inflamatory insult, based on the persons own experience.

And well, my perception of this board is fringe subjects, and if you can't understand why a person might be a ET contact and believes in spirituality in that context and why they are on ATS, well, honestly, where else would you see that but here. And it would assume that if you are here, then you most likely will run across those types, and insulting them and not asking questions is not intelligent really.

It is sort of like if I want to go to a great jazz bar in the hood of a major town, I need to expect to see a few people of color, and mix in and know how to handle myself, and know I am in mixed company and modify my behavior, or it might not go well for me. And well ATS is mixed company.

Well, I say we get rid of judgement and the word promiscous. and let women have the sex they want without someone saying that they are treating their bodies unhealthy, or taking risks because they are uneducated. These things you speak of are your ideas, and I can get that. However, assuming you are American, you, and the organized Christians, let your President kill 200,000 people in order to ensure the safety of your life, in the name of Freedom and Christianity. And well, "thou shalt not kill", is pretty explicit. I can't see how that can be mistaken. It does not say, "thou shall not kill unless the other person might kill you", or "thou shall not kill unless you think the other person might kill you". And this is one of the many areas of where it is do as I say, not as I do, and people on the outside say what does this group stand for really.

And believe me, I am in no way a Christian basher, because I consider myself Christian, but I will say that many Christians are a little bit of lazy losers these days who really do not step up to the plate and take on the big issues, except maybe harass some emotionally vulnerable teenager to keep her baby, and then shove her on welfare in a one room apartment with little support so that they can have their way, yet sit around a big dinner table at x-mas with food galore, and shove their mouths full while that single mom has a hard job to survive. And this is based on direct personal experience, so I will say, I am all for Christian ideals, when the Christians put their money where their mouth is, and step up to the plate and start to live by all 10 commandments and the tenants of their faith.

of course women should be able to pick who they want to have sex with. that's a no-brainer and really wasn't the gist of my posts. the problem with the approach to women we are currently seeing in popular media is that it gives the false impression that women are just like they are portrayed in fictions, dramas, adventures, pornos and so on - and they aren't. it creates a false image of women, which results in pressure being put on women and especially young females, to perform like the media presents them. it sucks and ain't nothing you can say that'll convince me otherwise! it's abusive and disrespectful and half the time the ladies don't even realize what is happening to them till they ARE up the crreek without a paddle or dead from botched c-sections/abortions.

I understand where you are coming from, but think you are overlooking the bigger picture. Imagine if all posters had to have a general consensus on controversial matters? You have to understand that not everybody thinks and processes information in the manner than you do. Not everybody has had the same upbringing and exposures (or lack of) to religion like you have.

So many people think that the way they think and interpret things is the "correct" or "real" way. If somebody else does not agree with them then they must be "sheep", "government agents" or "disinfo agents". These people cannot comprehend that their beliefs and ideals are flawed or misleading and become blinded by their own arrogance when examining certain topics.

You feel the site has been "invaded" because there seem to be a large number of posters who do not agree with your views or views of others whom you do agree with. Of course, the usual scapegoats are to blame (i.e. Christians, Zionists, Creationists, USA/Israel, Conservatives, Law Enforcement Officers etc.)

It is simply unreasonable for you to expect all posters to be in total agreement on controversial matters. And if you feel so strongly that this is the case, try putting in some effort and making a positive change instead of just complaining. You will find bad apples and rotten tomatoes in most places in life, this website is no exception.

And what about the way white heterosexual males are portrayed in the media? You don't think this has a negative effect on them? Even in pornos, most males have insanely large genitals and are given the role of the villain. The idea that white heterosexual males are always the aggressor is continuously pumped into the mindset of the audience. Don't you find it strange that the suicide rate among males is much higher than that of females in almost every single demographic (especially among adolescent males in this case) across the West?

i think that's horrible! like i said, it's an 8 headed monster. the downward spiral of society feeds on itself, like a snowball rolling down hill. it gains momentum and begins to negatively impact everyone.

the people who promulgate the ideas from which the spiral begins, don't care. it will be some time before it negatively impacts them or their offspring and by then, it'll be their descendants who they don't worry about either since they don't believe they will ever have to face them with an explanation for their decisions.

these folks are under the mistaken belief that all "karma" is dealt with locally and has immediate consequence, with them usually at the helm, making the decisions regarding the destinies of everyone else. truth be known, there's always someone bigger with a larger gavel down the pike.

I agree. Just like the garbage lies in all of these birthers and deathers (the new one about death squads etc...) that they spew like spit. Where is the respect and command of the truth anymore. These crazies have begun to crawl out from their shadows, charged by no not truth or facts, simply hate. The same mental state and hate addiction that fuels the illogic in racism, sexism, and the likes. It's really unbelievable what kind of lies are being fed, but even more surprising what is being eaten. Sad that ATS allows lies to be perpetuated here. You'd think we'd have enough intelligence to not propogate lies and hate and then label it under free speech. Give me a break, go have garbage talk in your garage. It's getting hairy and ATS allows it to go on. It's time we live what we teach our 6 year olds!!!!!!! Also dont forget though, that there are people that get payed to infiltrate blogs and web sites of all sorts. It gives the perception that these belies are founded in a mass population, hence the moronic social creatures called humans fallow each other. Mob mentality is very documented. i think it's because people are generally afraid of each other, and moreso when there's an attempt to change the status quo. this is even more obvious if the change to the status quo requires a major revision of time-tested documents like the constitution, bill of rights and sensitive issues related to money. it scares people.

Some are. You might not be. And I have been with them, and they were not doing it for money, and they were going places in that mode just fine in their life experience.

Does not mean you are like that, but I have know of woman, and been with a fair number less than some more than some, and had and have many plutonic relationships as well where they tell me the truth of the things they are involved in or do, and I would disagree here.

They are alot like the things you mentioned, just not on the surface. And it is starting at a younger age, I find especially in younger women it is all a big bufffett, and they step up and try everything.

For example, I seldom have sex with overweight women, because sexually I need to connect with their full package, and well they might be my friend with a certain body, but it just does not turn my crank. And well, it means I get less sex of course.

Now, I got friends who have different standards, and they will sleep with just about any woman, cause they require it more than they do not, and are not willing to do without. However why should I cast in with them as not being selective like them, or typecast by the mythos that maybe I am kind of indiscriminate male. And why should I draw conclusions as to the rest of society based on my desires and nature.

I am just saying that in effect you do not know if all woman are as you say and are being portrayed wrong in that it is only from your point of view. And I am sure 99.5% of the time it is a wrong portrayal, just as it is with men by the way, most men know how to turn on the dryer and do not get in a state of confusion over colors as portrayed in the media. However what you are saying, I just cannot buy into in that it is too general.

And in the end, it is a thought that attracts energies into your own life, and I am not sure that it supports you any more than me thinking that all the other guys will get the sex and I will not get what I want because I am too selective. They do their thing, I do mine, K Sera Sera.

I could not have said it any better myself, man I get tired of these commercials where men are stupid.

I can cook better than most women, and sew better than alot of them, and I can fix an engine or rip out the brakes on the car as well, and then write a new web based application, and then give you a tarot reading, and then maybe build you a new computer, and then write a job resume for you, etc., cause I have taken years to develop as much potential as I can.

By in large women seem very underdeveloped compared to some men, and instead of developing themselves they point fingers and say that society and men are holding them down.

I agree Dark Ghost, and some would say that a reaction is the first step in a mind considering new truths. I do well for example with the women who do not like me instead of the women who do. The friction leads to a more honest discussion, and often it goes places I never thought. However there is a way to have those discussions and a better way, sometimes the people here are going the no so good way.

I am a bit late getting into the thread but I too am very frustrated! It has become nearly impossible to find FACTS here on the whole health care issue. When this all started I just knew I could come here and find well researched arguments, not so.

As I sit here listening to Arlen Specter's effort to have a town meeting on Health Care it is obvious that certain factions just will not allow information to be given out! No debate, no information but the same sad things that go on here! Arguments about the nation going down the toilet...I thought the topic was health care not plumbing or constitutional issues!

Fear is the focus, not facts. Even here. I do hope this new effort will stop the insults. I hate to even ask questions lately or voice an opinion because the rhetoric has become so acrid.

side note: I would love to be able to get into my original account. I made the mistake of trying to post in BTS and for the life of me cannot get the password/s sent to me to let me into my former account. Not a total newbie.

A few points to remember:

It's the internet. It's nothing to take personally.

Technology has advanced since I started using the internet (1995) to where ANYONE with a keyboard and a rudimentary knowledge of the internet can post their opinions.

Just remember that anyone claiming to be an expert is usually full of crap, no matter what.
