I am new here on ATS.My stepson told me about this forum.I wanted to
see what he was writing.I wanted to make sure we didn't have to worry
about the FBI pounding on our front door looking for him.

Hey welcome, glad you are here, UFOs is also one of my favorite topics more so because I have seen some which I know are not ours, or part of any military experiment as far as I know. I have seen such craft as a civilian and in the military. Hope you find what you are looking for in the forums.

i've read too many prophetical texts lol

Yea that was always my favorite at the age of twelve I was addicted to reading and re-reading revelations,

What people don't realize is that all religions and spiritual paths have end of times message, even Buddhism.

While I can certainly see your point, very clearly indeed, I must say that your thread here seems like it deserves to be moved by the Moderators to the Rant Forum, over on BTS, instead of here on ATS.

Yes, I can see your point, but the way you're coming off is just like someone throwing a tirade, not that I think you are doing such a thing, but that's the interpretation some ATS'ers might get out of it.

Why not instead, actually do a thread like the one below, where I explain my point of view in a clear-cut and concise manner?

Are You The Victim of An Agent Provocateur, On ATS?

If you want any ATS'er to take you seriously, you have to step back and take yourself seriously first.

As the saying goes, there's more than one way to skin a cat...

No cats were harmed in the making of this post, or for that matter any other threads and or posts here on ATS.

Side Note : I did not log onto ATS for over 6 months because of what you're referring to, so it is not only you seeing a disturbing pattern.

My post won't be nearly as drawn out as the OP's; it just prompts me to say MAN has ATS ever gotten boring!!! The really interesting members are gone, the topics are enough to make you want to scream. I think part of it was mods being too heavy-handed, THINKING they were just "doing their jobs" and I don't know what the other part is.

I know I know, don't let the door hit me...

but those whom you cannot speak about are not one particular religious persuasion. that's part of the reason it was edited by the mod. this is not a religious issue. it's not a race issue. it's an issue of ...apparently... alot of people like the health care they have or the money they make or both. and in some cases, it's just a general dissatisfaction with the trend towards socialism or some other related issue. and, this is about as conspiratorial as i'm gona get on this topic -- there's also people who just like to be angry at whoever is in charge, no matter who it is, who have grievances towards US presidents no matter who they are, or who do have a race card to play or some other card unrelated to the topic of race or religion, such as insurance companies liking things the way they are. but to call it a hard right religious problem is just not reality.

S&F for your eloquence
...... and expressing what many of us have been discussing in private.

Seriously, who really wants to come to ATS and see the same headlines we have on our internet front page? I had to take a break (from ATS) out of pure aggravation in seeing the same Obamamessiah and MJ drama threads over and over and over again.

I cannot agree more with the original post, but it is not just here on ATS, it is everywhere these days.

I was looking forward to the school holidays, because there are often a lot of wacky, out there stories that come out, anything is better than this constant political agenda stuff, but alas I have not seen many people claiming to be aliens etc this year, just constant flamewars.

There is still good content here, you just have to look harder. I feel the political stuff should stay on politics forums, unless it is really big.

I tried not to deal with the Baptists. I always tried to concentrate on other denominations. Its all different when the Pastors think you are one of them. The most fair of all of them seemed to be the New Methodists. Still when it came down tot he brass tacks they all want to be in rapture and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.

What exactly do these churches do to make things happen? I would
like for you to explain this.
About the rapture,no one can make it happen! When God decides it's
time,it's time.We are to live our lives doing God's work until He calls
us up.
I am a member of an Independent,Fundamental Baptist Church.

Well, according to UFO folk lore and passages in the Bible,I'm an hybrid!
I am RH negative and carry a gene for producing six- fingered children.
I read, in my Bible, about the king of Bashan had six- fingers,Goliath also had six- fingers.
So,I have a nephilim in my gene pool.

Those of whom we cannot speak (feels like 'the Village', lol) are usually the most vocal in support of government intrusion into our lives, as long as it doesn't affect them directly. That's why it is such a joke, to me personally. They only scream and demand the government to stay out of their lives, but unfortunately that isn't going to happen. They paved the way for it, like i said. They want the government to enforce their "values" and beliefs on everybody else, but when it comes to their freedoms being lost, they fantasize about some uprising. They are pissed because they see the government doesn't care about them anymore than the rest of us "scum".And the problem is, they can't successfully rise up alone. And they've cast their contempt towards the rest of us so much, that we have no desire to unite with them at all. We all know full well that as soon as it was time to reorganize, they would turn on the rest of us and try to enforce their "values" on everybody.

The world is diverse place. The cool part about the Internet is, if you don't like a thread, you don't have to click on it or read it.

Me, I'm for free speech. I don't read most of the threads here because they don't interest me. I don't get upset about them though. That would mean I want to censor speech. That in and of itself is a conspiracy to control speech.

I do hate the name callers and intolerant people who are always trying to control everything. Some are so arrogant they seem to think they own the board and have the right to control what others discuss. I don't understand why they can't just not read the threads they don't like? Too much coffee I guess?

I don't see ATS as different. Just larger and more diverse. I think that in the end is a good thing. More information.

The most boring and useless threads are those where there is no debate. Just people agreeing with each other. I guess that is what some want. They want everyone to agree with them or go away. Pretty sad really. That's the kind of intolerance that leads to all this division we are seeing these days. My way or the highway mentality's is a huge part of societal problems these days.

Not being afraid of new things or change, I'm going to say ATS is just fine. I have this button on my mouse and I can choose which threads I read by clicking it. There are plenty of people on here I don't agree with, but not being a hater, they don't bother me.

Tolerance requires a great deal of maturity. This thread reminds me of the travesty of the Town Hall Meetings not allowing hard questions from people who care. Intolerance hurts our country and it will harm ATS. There are plenty of sites where people who only want to allow people who agree with them hang out. ATS and its tolerance of diverse idea's may not suit the my way or the highway crowd. That makes it far superior in my mind.

well it helps to understand it from the perspective of the theoretical "slippery slope", which is said to be non-existent when the subject is being pushed for implementation but which others see as a certainty. to you it might sound like hypocracy, to the theorist it's a negative trail they don't want to follow.. if you were a betting person, you'd be rich just by betting that anything with a slippery slope at its other end will eventually manifest itself and take the downward trend. this is not a christian thing either, it's a matter of historical record for civilizations.

rise and fall of the roman empire is an example.
decadence leads to decay. part of decadence requires the decay of moral structures upon which the society was built. this one here, was built on things like the ten commandments and christian values, not to mention masonic values. take that away, it the foundation starts to crumble.

what this means essentially is, you're showing not just a slippery slope but an abyss and saying, it's not bad ...jump..don't worry, and these folks are not going to believe you.
too many examples in the last couple generations to know that's just a pie in the sky approach without a parachute or a net to catch us when we fall.

I think a lot of you fail to realize that a discussion, debate and argument are all part of the unification process which unites and separates like minds, even here on ATS. We cannot do away with this in ATS and will not be able to do away with it in the real world unless of course we can create a sheep following that adhere to "one's" specific beliefs and opinions. The beauty of this giant mess we call ATS is that the "intelligent" ones that reside here can pick and choose from a myriad of views and opinions, therefore building the most correct and enlightened perspective.

I think the main problem is that some of us tend to lose our temper. Look at the edited OP and the amount of stars and flags. A lot of you agree with it

I do agree that the insults and childish remarks should be put to a stop as that will only reflect ones self control and intelligence. However, it's all part of the debate. Those of you that think otherwise or somehow "know" the truth, keep it to yourself or if someone disagrees it does not mean that they are lost and it is not your job to make them see "your" truth. Respect every mans opinion. Every mans journey is his own, remember that...

My humble opinion is that very heavy handed Mods caused most of the problems of the OP. I have never read a thread that I could not ignore unless it dispariged my culture/heritage. There is an ignore button, so why not use it? The mods will kill ATS before any posters ever do. I have received the infamous 404 without reason and was never given an explanation. Mods have far too much control and will eventually bring a new ATS type website which I look forward to. This will probably get a 404 as well but F'em.

depends. if at the other end of his journey there's an angry mob of like minded people who think those who have a specific religion should be silenced simply because they have a specific religion.
that's real bad, ya know?

i mean those people wait on him, fix his boo-boos, deliver his children, give him his prescriptions, ring up his groceries, collect his garbage, and so on and so on, but they aren't worthy enough to have an opinion about where the money they earn goes? say what?

Hard for me to tell how many msm parrots we have on ATS since the only time I see the enemies disinfo is when I stop to talk to my grandfather and CNN is blaring in the background. Had to have that crap on when I worked in Vegas and haven't watched it in the few years since. It does annoy me how fast both sides (I'm on neither) of "our" American political system leap to their masters bidding. Republicans passing TARP was disgusting, the Dem's not simply doing the same with health care is baffling unless the whole point of the Medicrap debates is to keep everyone from noticing how well Wall Street-GoldmanSachs thieves are doing. Lets keep arguing here on ATS but lets do it about the real issues.

The REASON why my OP was edited was because of an avalanche of compliant by certain groups.

If you want to know the Site owner posted twice on the second page If I remember around midnight last night. He logged out after that and I was up until 2:30 in the morning and had not yet received the double warn or the edit as of yet.

That tell me that the site owner was cool with it before he went to bed last night and did not edit my post or warn me until the complaints by this certain group became too much, including I am sure a lengthy discussion behind the scenes in mod land.

Your assumption is not correct.

Yesterday (being Sunday) I had other off-site things going on, and when I first saw this thread, I initially thought it was started before yesterday's reaffirmation announcement. I later (today) realized it wasn't and bent my own rules by applying edits to your post, rather than removing the entire post as defined in yesterday's announcement.

i didn't complain to the mods. i've only reported one post in the time i've been on ATS and it was many months ago, to my recollection and it was a pretty bad one. people have said all kinds of things about me, calling me a sheep an idiot and so on. and i don't even watch tv or listen to radio or read the newspaper or rely on one perspective from which to draw my opinions.

i would never suggest that you are what the problem is with this nation, even though you are a pagan. therefore, i expect you will not suggest such a thing about people of other beliefs than your own either. is that too much to expect?
