Hi all...long time lurker, but frequent reader.
Just had a jet/commercial aircraft fly very low over a residential area, doing some really odd manoeuvres, and being a bit daft I popped off in the
car to follow it as the plane kept banking and turning. I live within a mile of 2 nuclear power stations and the jet eventually turned and headed in
their general direction. I managed to follow it for about 30 mins whilst it banked turned and did loads of very low level, banking/turning in
circles manoevres and I fortunately managed to get a couple of decentish photos with my camera on full zoom, which I will try to upload as I would
love someone to identify exactly what the aircraft was is.
Oddly enough, when I reached the end of the road next to the sea where the power station was, I was a bit surprised to be asked "are you following
the jet too", by a bloke about the same age as me (40) and we chatted and I showed him my photo and we both discussed what it could have been doing.
His suggestion was that it was an airliner dumping fuel and he prompted me to smell for jet fuel which I could'nt at the time smell. At this point
the aircraft had banked off to the left and disappeared behind the 2nd power station...I have had the news switched on but nothing...
Anyone any ideas??
