If you can't figure it out all on your own, then you're too far gone.

Capitalist have destroyed this country. Conservatives are too simple to have figured it out.

If you listen to the MSM you'd think the town hall disruptions are caused by paid instigators too ignorant to think for themselves. OP your original premise is all wrong. AMERICANS ARE SMARTER THAN YOU THINK AND ARE WAKING UP. I'm surprised its taken this long for people to rage out.

I don't give a damn what is in the health care bill. I am against the idea of government run health care. The government is comprised of the same IDIOTS who run Amtrack. Amtrack has posted a loss for each of the last 40 years. The government runs the posatal service which posted a TWO BILLION DOLLAR LOSS LAST YEAR!!! The government runs Medicaid which by their own admission is fraught with inefficiencies and corruption.

THE IDIOTS ARE RUNNING OUR GOVERNMENT NOT THE PROTESTORS.

If Barney Frank (the captain Binghampton of the House) is so friggin smart, why doesn't he figure out a way to make medicaid run like a business???

Finally, by the government's own bloated figures, of the 46 million people without health care, half are eligible for coverage through work or medicaid. Much of the balance of the other 23 million are the laziest, no account, high school drop out bums in the country. By giving them free health care for life and making hard working people like me pay for it, you are giving them another reason to keep their fat asses on their couches for good.

How has capitalism destroyed this country when the gradual growth of government authoritarianism limiting capitalism has been in sync with the slow decline of the country itself? I wouldn't even call it socialism. Socialism is when the government actually cares. The government is just a self sustaining nuisance and the death of capitalism here seems to be perfectly going at the same rate with the growth of power here.

And just so you know, monopolies and government-owned business is not capitalism. It's central planning, forced markets in which the consumer is forced to buy from government owned company A, or government owned company B.

I concur. Well said zarp3333. Last time I looked at the Constitution, there was no "right" to healthcare, either private or by the government. Same as no "right" to marry, no "right" to have a job, no "right" to have a "home", etc.

Want those things? then get a job and work for them. Want a job but cant find one? then look at the government which restricts so many businesses and opportunities for entrepenuers by excessive regulations and taxation. I say its about time that people got their anger channeled into action. These are average, working, middle class people from all sides of ther political spectrum who are attending (or at least trying too before the government shuts them out) these town hall meetings.

Go USA. Give government 'of the people, by the people and for the people'....back TO the people. Throw the bums out.

Boy, that's a dilemna. With friends like that, who needs enemies? How about a thread titled 'Why I'm Tired of Idiots labeling Idiots Anyone They Don't Agree With, Or Understand'. The FACTS are that if you DO research this, you will discover that these communist demoncrats are LYING thru the muzzle. Yeah, wolves have muzzles, just like other dogs. And only an IDIOT doesn't understand HISTORY and how our, your-he is not mine-how your fuer is embracing the final act of the destruction of America's freedoms, and greatness. Get the facts, he is an ILLEGAL ALIEN, and the sooner he is sent to Guantanamo before being deported, the less people who will be utterly humiliated for supporting his scams. And the whole health thing was perhaps created to divert attention away from his British nationality.
And the biggest problem in 'health care' is not even being addressed; one of the biggest health dangers for anyone, is to venture into a hospital! They should have mortuaries in a wing. The 'doctors' are being BRIBED by the sorcerers/pharmacists to prescribe patented drugs THEY own, even if it kills takers. Did you know that flouride is illegal to put in the water of most nations, because it is a poison, a waste byproduct of aluminum production? Did you know that mercury, composing 50% of dental fillings, is the most dangerous metal to man? And that even dental techs are not allowed to touch it? But it is OK to put it into mouths? Cancer is curable, aids is curable, diabetes is curable, old age is not. Curable with cheap stuff, not patented. Your 'representatives' are regularly bribed by these thugs, to allow the poisons to be marketed. Bribed, just like the bankers bribe them, to allow their massive counterfeiting. But the pharmacists, and doctors, and banksters ARE being represented. Just not you or I.

I'm so sick of people actually believing that the "greedy lawyers" are to blame for all the world's problems. Do you realize that 99% of the Plaintiff's attorneys who sue the doctors do so on a contingency fee basis? That means they don't get a dime, not one red cent, unless they win the case. You understand in order for the Plaintiff (victim) to win, the Doctor had to actually do something wrong.... i.e. commit malpractice. This means the real problem lies with the greedy insurance companies.
They have no problem cashing the Dr.'s checks every month when he pays for his/her malpractice insurance, but when the Doc gets sued they don't want to pay. So the victims of the malpractice are almost always forced to sue in order to receive just compensation.
The myth of frivolous lawsuits is just that, a myth. No attorney who takes a case on a "I get paid only if I win" basis would submit a case to the courts that had no merit. It cost money to file a lawsuit and more money to prepare that suit for trial. Filing frivolous suits would be financial suicide. I don't mean to say it never happens, but statistically speaking merit-less lawsuits are much more rare than the insurance companies would have you believe.
They have done a wonderful job of demonizing attorneys, and really, I'll admit, attorneys make an easy target. But trust me, if you or someone you love gets hurts due to the negligence of someone in the health care profession, you will want a good Plaintiff's attorney by your side.

Wrong. Here's a good case of what injury lawyers do day in and out throughout the country.

For years the New York City firm of Morris Eisen P.C.
ran one of the nation's biggest personal injury law practices, employing fifty lawyers and
handling hundreds of cases at a time. Like all big law firms that specialize in injury
lawsuits, it worked on contingency— keeping a share of its clients' winnings, if any ("no
fee unless successful").
It all came undone in 1990 when a federal grand jury indicted Eisen and seven
persons associated with his firm on charges that included bribing witnesses and court
personnel, suborning false expert testimony, doctoring photographs, and manufacturing
other physical evidence. Among those charged along with Eisen were two lawyers, a
former office manager, and four private investigators who worked regularly with his firm.
U.S. Attorney Andrew Maloney of the Eastern District of New York detailed the
charges. "They produced an eyewitness to two automobile accidents," he said. "The
witness was never at either accident and, at the time of one accident, he was serving time
on a forgery charge." In another case, where one of Eisen's employees claimed to have
tripped at a racetrack parking lot, Maloney said one of the suspects used a pickax to
widen a pothole so it could be blamed for the supposed incident. Two of the group were
charged with causing a witness to give false testimony in another lawsuit where an
injured woman claimed that a bus driver had signaled for her to cross the street into
traffic; New York City settled that case for $1 million. Altogether the nineteen lawsuits
where wrongdoing was alleged had brought in $9 million in awards and settlements, of
which the lawyers had pocketed an estimated third as contingency fees, along with some
additional sum to cover their reported expenses.

Source.

Lawyers who "play the system" are a large part of the expense of our current medical system. Don't try to make them sound like innocent parties in this. I'd say that the legal profession is one of the most unethical field of profession currently in existence. Just take a look at Congress and our own President as prime examples.

EDIT: Added graph of rising medical tort costs since 1975.

"And if you ever want to debate any of these issues with me, I’m all for it. Just be prepared – in the spirit of Ray Bradbury – for the Slap."

first, there's no need for violence.

second, at least as far as i am concerned, the present agitation i am witness to has far less to do with this specific matter of "health care reform" as much as it has to do with the way in which the federal government has rushed through every major legislation during the past year.

...and yes, i am including the last administration , and no, i am no fan of george walker bush.

i think the tea party movement embodies the same apprehensions.

to me, this is a problem of an elite "corporatist" oligarchy running rough-shod over the citizenry. this is the source of anger and resentment.

that there is a "sense of urgency" on their part is suspect, if for no other reason than the fact that historically, the government has NEVER been able do anything quickly.

if you don't believe that, try getting your social security changed to a new address and see how long it takes.

i am aware and supportive of some means of getting control of the costs and quality of health care.

i am not supportive of 1000+ pages of legalese (that nobody in congress reads) to accomplish it.

another here stated that if the plan is so great then congress themselves should be administered by it as well.

i can think of no better action of good faith than for them to do so, without debate, without exception, and without hesitation.

i am still waiting for the OP to respond to others here as was stated, but, eight hours later, i suspect this was in reality a drive-by shooting.

Agreed. The bill is not what is promised. Although it is not finalized either. I think there should be dispute over what is in the bill. My opposition is to the bill, not to the idea behind the bill. Obama's idea of the bill is better than the bill. We need to separate Obama from this bill. Obama has clearly stated what he wants to see in it. Yet members of congress, both parties, have their own idea. I am against the congressional bill, not Obama's idea. This should be clearly the distinction. People are lumping together political parties and missing the point. This is clouded by the media attacks against the two parties. No matter what side you are on the media is distracting from the issues.

exactly, i am also against the bill, not the idea of it though, the thing i don't understand is why you can seriously separate obama from this bill, yeah he stated what he wants to see, but he also stated a lot of great ideas when he was running and im pretty sure about 99% (just a figure i threw out b.c. i dont think you can disagree) of the things he said he wanted to do and was going to do have been thrown out the _...(voted for paul btw) now he also wants to ram through this bill... BUT can't he read the bills as well, shouldn't he see how F'd it is? and how much it doesn't go along with what he wants. i just don't get it. seems to me just about all govt. is in the same bed and know of each others motives like it's a board game. so irritating. i honestly can't say there isn't an agenda because these problems the govt. is causing seem like common sense issues yet they keep making it worse. wtf is going on. people need let go of the left right paradigm and get this shiz back on course together. when are we going to tell these people running this cluster f*** to step down? I WILL ADMIT i wont be the first person to start marching down main st. with a sign and a loud voice,(not proud of it) but if i see other people wake up start doing it you better believe i will join. i found out about a agenda almost 1 year ago now. i like to think im a logical person with fair common sense and it just makes sense to me. but all this is my opinion. thanks for listening.
