What I heard from Gibbs made perfect sense. How are you helping fair debate and voice for everybody if you only intend to go to a town hall to shut everybody out? Some of these protestors come into these town halls not to express their opinions, their issues, but to instead insult the congressman, the president and every other "socialist pinko" they can try to get a mouth at. Its rather ironic, a bunch of overly angry righties gatecrashing a townhall debate to shut out and insult everybody with a different view, and then when they get removed for attempting to shout out everybody else its "my freedoms were stripped". I mean really its pathetic.

In Maryland where they had a healthcare townhall debate atleast the folks there managed to allow a calm environment for discussion, but the ones in Florida were just disgusting. I know there is a conservative smear campaign on the net and to these townhalls with the arranged busloads and corporate arrangements for group meet ups, but seriously your now allowing fair voice for all by merely "attacking" them. You can be critical of this administration but then attack and shut out everybody else who thinks differently, you are really contradicting yourself there.

The funniest part to this all are most of these folks who tend to be above their 50's. I tell ya, seeing them get all pumped up about "socialist healthcare" and then accuse the president of messing around with their medicare... really now, get a reality check.

Now, you're jumping from the conspiracy that the health care plan Obama is giving is a "socialism plan" to "Cancer is a contrived disease, and all doctors want to do is make money off of it."

You're now going into the conspiracy that doctors just say people are sick to get their money...

Is this your way of justifying that Obama's plan is bad? That doctors are making up diseases so they can get money?

That if you're sick, all you need is cash?

That's your plan?

You sure don't get it do you?

Do you really think that my 30 plus year old belief that Cancer is a manufactured disease was formed thirty years ago because one day some guy who was 13 at the time too would grow up to be President and want to socialize health care?

Do you really think that in America where everyone is considered equal and has equal opportunities you can't make enough cash to pay for your health care?

Do you really think that if 50,000,000 Americans can't afford health care that our 11 trillion dollar in debt government to foreign nations can afford to pay for it for them?

The last thing our Government did that was honest and straight up was when Andrew Jackson was President!

Why on earth would people who believe that our government is honest and sound, that our corporations are honest and sound even spend time on a conspiracy site?

I am 45 years old and I have never believed in the nonsense you keep pointing to and wanting to lean on and in 38 years of looking to prove myself wrong the only thing I have ever been able to do is meet people in the Shadow Government aka The Powers that Be who simply said, wow how did you figure all this stuff out, you got a great head on your shoulders and now you want to discuss fairy tales and romper room beliefs?

Have you actually looked outside your door at the world we actually live in or are you just so engrossed with your own problems and hoping against hope for solutions to them that all you can do is hope against hope.

Seriously the Government is not going to give you jack that serves anything or anyone but them.

All we are to the government is lifestock, if you aren't paying your weight in taxes and it comes time to decide wow do we make our money back if we authorize his treatment or do we end up loosers, they are going to let you die, if not kill you deliberately and outright with the treatment.

That's the real world, the real world run by the Shadow Government, it's all about dollars and sense, and with out sense trust me, you are as good as dead in this world.

The true polarization of America has begun in earnest now and sadly will soon be beyond the point of reason or returning!

You, my friend, have nailed it. We have 3 1/2 more years of Obama the street organizer become president. The country has been turned into and onto itself. The blood is flowing. This is a tear down, not a build up president.

It's us against him and we have the momentum!

Let the games begin!

I'm fuming right now.

I'm assuming I'm not alone.

“I know the president feels strongly that we can discuss these issues without personally maligning… that we are doing so in a way that respects the dignity of each individual,” he said. “I think anytime you make references to what happened in Germany in the 30’s and 40’s, I think you are talking about an event that has no equivalent. And I think anytime anyone ventures to compare anything to that, they are on thin ice, and it is best not employed.”
(visit the link for the full news article)

How are they avoiding people by holding townhall meetings that are in fact disrupted by people with absolutely no respect for those who wish to conduct an orderly question and answer session.

The neocon mob is the only thing not interested in real dialong.

The system is built so that only the politically educated understand these matters. This creates a situation which induces controlled anarchy, as the uneducated can't see any other way to get their voices through other than with aggression and insults.

We say this under Bush too. Under Obama it's just another group doing the same.

Right, and you sure know alot about your perfect system of corporate healthcare right? This is what these townhalls are actually for, you know? This is why you go there, to give your issues, and if dont agree with it, thats all fine and dandy. Only it appears any discussion over the matter "due to the complications folks dont understand" will constantly be blocked by a bunch of angry mobs shutting down any debate at all.

Theirs no excuse. You may not trust the bill, the healthcare plan, nobody is stopping from going to these townhalls and giving your piece of cake in a debate, however nobody is asking you to shut down the debate because your all pumped up about it. The supported deserve the right to speak just asmuch as you do, you dont have a right to shut them out.

This creates a situation which induces controlled anarchy, as the uneducated can't see any other way to get their voices through other than with aggression and insults.

Im sorry thats no excuse. You want to seriously come here and complain to me about how your rights to opinion and say in this plan are being stripped, yet you expect me to shut up while you insult me and my congressman of his views? Are you freedoms the only ones that matter?

I dont expect every single individual to agree to the healthcare plan. However I do expect the respect for one anothers freedom to speak out and discuss the plan. These mobs however only come to these debates to do one thing, shut out any opportunity of fair debate. Its just not acceptable. You dont have to be for the healthcare plan to agree.

I dont care about what NWO garbage you believe, or what "socialist fascism" you feel is taking over your government. You dont have a right to come and shut me out of a debate and insult me because you dont agree. If I wanted to go to the townhall to express my support and talk to my congressman, I should get the opportunity without being harrassed and shut down by an angry mob. You should have that opportunity to.

How are they avoiding people by holding townhall meetings that are in fact disrupted by people with absolutely no respect for those who wish to conduct an orderly question and answer session.

There is an old saying "If you want to upgrade the quality of your life you must first upgrade the quality of your questions."

As someone whose worked in sales most of my life I can tell you most people ask very poor questions and most people accept very poor non-answers as answers.

Let me give you an example...What time will that be ready?

This afternoon!

The afternoon well is hours long...

Can you tell me when this afternoon...well we close at 5:00 so before then...

Wow the same answer which still gives me no real information.

Can you tell me about when you will start working on it and how long it will take then? (rephrasing now to try to get a better answer)

Well we are going to start working on it just as soon as we can and it will take a little while to get it done after that!

(Still have no real answer)

Well I have an appointment at 4:00 PM somewhere else could you have it done before then?

We can try! I promise you I will do what ever I can to get it to you as soon as possible I know you are waiting.

Now the reality is that people give non answers like this all the time and so far all I have seen of this intelligent question and answer session is non-answers...

Now guess what a lot of people could be put off with those answers and walk away thinking they have an answer but they still have no clue what time its really going to be ready to pick up. There basic question still has not been answered. The person who gave them those multiple non answers was simply putting off having to really answer the question and eventually the person asking just got tired of asking and gave up with out the information he wanted.

Most of these congress people have not read the entire bill, there is no one entire bill yet for them to read, and all they are doing is giving non answers in part because they have no answers yet and in part because they don't really care enough about the issue themselves to familiarize themselves with the answer.

It's a lot of

We are working hard on it.

I know you will like it.

No you don't have to worry about that!

No I am pretty sure that's not how it will work.

Well we are still working that out.

We want to get it done just as quick as possible because we know you need it.

Now tell me is that your idea of an intelligent question and answer session because to me it sounds like a lot of deflection and double talk and evasion.

But then again I know how to ask questions and answer them.

Do you?

Probably not since I sure am not a Neocon and the only thing you have said about the health bill is the Neocons are obstructing intelligent covnersation.

You could have written up to 10,000 words on why it's a great bill...

Here is a question for you...why didn't you?

Here is another great question for you...why couldn't you?

Here is another great question for you, why did you just do what you say the Neocons are doing by not addressing the issue intelligently and just blanket labelling anyone who might have a real question, might know how to ask a real question and just might actually know what a real answer is?

I never said I support their actions. I'm simply saying why it happens.

Also as far as I know, government bureaucracies are indifferent to greedy insurance companies. The only difference, as someone told me, is that the greedy companies have to give you a good deal or you leave for another one. With government, your screwed, and there's no incentive to care.

The only universal health care I will ever support is a bowl of money freely available for medical needs. No bureaucracy, no companies. Simply a bowl for you. This bill is not that.

And that isn't even sustainable right now. First we need a bigger middle class and a bigger population, plus energy independence and a more stable economy. Being a superpower really works against all that.

Yes, thats exactly the problem with your last post, you didnt say anything regarding their actions as a mob. Its unacceptable. You may feel that their are legit reasons behind the way they act but its no excuse, it should never be an excuse. Im not arguing against their views, Im arguing against the way they intend to shut off any debate. If you agree then there shouldnt really be any further difference over the matter.

Also as far as I know, government bureaucracies are indifferent to greedy insurance companies.

Wonderful. Go to a townhall and express your concerns, but you dont have a right to shut down anybody else for giving theirs.

Obama's whole administration reeks of McCarthyism, it seems like everyday they extend the witchhunt a little more. I really don't understand how we as a people let our country get to this point. The whitehouse has on it's website a request for Americans to report any Americans that disagree with their proposed healthcare, and now they are subtlely threatening radio talkshow hosts for exercising their right to free speech! We are not moving forward, we are moving backward in time to a time before we were a free nation. Such a sad thing that we have alowed to happen to this once great country.

And for those that say there was no threat issued, it was an implied threat. Everyone knows that when someone says you're on thin ice they mean that you're on the verge of getting into trouble, or having something bad happen to them. So even though it was not a direct threat, it was still a threat.

I really hate bringing this up time and time again, but Bush Nazi Protest

The point is this is supposed to be the administration of "change" and business as usual is over in Washington, I have to say though he is right, except it is Chicago style thug politics that has now infested Washington.

Gatta love that change.

You are right with this one, Bush was portrayed as a nazi on many occasions.
And he also got a lot of flack for the decisions he made. The one difference is that bush had several years of getting the benefit of the doubt. There was debate but people didnt really start going after him until it was obvious that he was making bad decision after bad decision.

There was opposition to Bush when he was elected the first time but not nearly what we are seeing with obama. obama has been attacked from day 1 without very much of a case to attack him with. The facist, socialist, nazi, non-american, non-citizen, etc has been at full force from the minute he was elected if not before.

In the first 9 months of Bush's presidency, there were people who didnt vote for him and may not have agreed with him but we didnt see the protests until much later. After 911 the whole country was behind him and people didnt start to protest and criticize him until he continued to make blunder after blunder.

Also to claim that Bush didnt silence protest is absurd...Free speech zones, remember those. Has everyone forgotten about the screening that went on for all of Bush's town halls and when one crazy shouting democrat would make it in and create a scene, he/she were usually dragged out kicking and screaming.

I dont agree with everything Obama is doing but i'm not going to call him a nazi or go to a town hall and act like a uneducated moron. If you dont agree with the health care plan and you have questions, then ask. There is no need to start a shouting riot and attempt to end any intelligent discussion of the matter. Educated people realize that it is not the loudest who is the most right. The ability to stay calm and have a intelligent debate on issues is how to learn and influence.

Dont get me wrong there are times to invoke a loud protest in a public place but not in a Q&A forum. There is nothing wrong with being opposed to Obama and his policies or healthcare reform but there is a way to be heard and starting chants and riot-like behavior is not one of them, in this type of venue.

So Nazi Pelosi . . . I mean Nancy Pelosi is on thin ice as well?

I highly doubt it.

Yes, absolutely she was. Anyone who uses stoops to calling someone hitler or nazis for things that are not comparable is on thin ice with there credibility. If I said that John Travoltas movie career is comparable to the atrocities that were committed by the nazis, my credibility should be in serious question. And to compare what Obama has done in 8 months in office to Hitler, Nazis or even facism is ridiculous at best. The same could be said for comparing Bush to Nazis, hitler and facism.

I will say that dems and repubs are much closer than most realize but the propaganda that has been coming from the right over Obama is the most absurd crap i have ever heard. Many on the right are yelling just to hear themselves and attempt to discredit obama in any way possible. He may end up being the worst president in history, but come on, give him a chance. He has not even come close to the ignorance of Bush jr.

Unfortunately, yes we can allow people to die. And they will when this BS government health plan goes into effect.

If you paid into your insurance for coverage and that coverage included breast cancer, then your mom should have been covered. No argument from me there. Now, if the policy didnt cover it, why should your insurance company cover it, especially given the high cost?

Have overlapping coverage. Have multiple policies.

Government has no Constitutional authority to be involved in healthcare, nor do they have said authority to use public funds for such an expenditure.

Tell me honestly, why should my taxes go up to pay for your moms surgery?

So we should do away with the police(tax payer funded) and everyone should just protect themselves. No more firefighters, put out your own house fire. I dont want my taxes to pay for my neighbors lit cigarette. Do you get your water from a public source? cut it off, you need to pay for a well. And if the water table is too low in your area, you're going to have to sell your house and move. Do your children attend public school? Cause now you have to pay private school rates(check them out, not cheap). Anyone you know use public transportation? Do you have garbage pick up in your area, because now you are required to collect and dispose of all your own garbage.
This country has been socialist for a long time. And there are certain things that work better when socialized.

Actually yes I do get my water from a well and my child does go to private school (I know full well how expensive it is).

Garbage pickup isnt socialized (I pay for their service to come pick up at my house), nor are a few of the other things you mentioned.

I am all for making police as pay as you go service. I dont use them, why should I pay for them? Same goes with fire.

The police are nothing more than the local governments revenue agents, thats all they are. Nothing more, nothing less.

My opinion is that when that video is taken in context, the "thin ice" comment refers to the credibility they will be destroying by making these ABSURD accusations.

I understand the health care thing is a really touchy subject but lets be honest, our health care system as it is, DOES NOT WORK. A huge portion of our population simply doesn't have access to health care and medicine. Those who do are financially taxed to the point of barely being able to afford their bills. The only people who really have decent health care are execs and our government reps. And who pays for the government rep health care? US ! So is it too much to ask that we have the same health care as them?

Now with regard to rush limbaugh. I listen to his radio show on a regular basis and he does outright LIE quite often so I understand why the democrats don't like him. He has a huge audience of ignorant masses that will believe his lies.

I cannot believe that the very same people that are blaming Obama for the current state of affairs were not screaming in the last 8 yrs about the very same thing. As far as I'm concerened Obama's performance is still clouded by the @#$%^&*() of the last regime.

when people start to talk to ech other instead of rallying behind a flag: sports, politics, wtevr, they will ( repeat ) will find common ground.
