Why would any elected official think they are above accountability?
Why would they think they have a right to refuse to answer questions at a scheduled, published agneda meeting?

Politicians have been experiencing increasing resistance to out of control government policies. People showing up to express their disapproval are labeled as disruptive protesters harassing constituents.

What’s behind Keene City [New Hampshire] Councilor Pamela Slack ’s refusal to answer questions on the record for the media?

You make a statement of fact, you have to back it up. That's how it works here. Otherwise you are just having a p*ss at the expense of our time.

I made a statement of fact use google, if you want to back check my statements. Last time i checked this was a forum on the internet where nobody knows who anybody else is, on conspiracy. It works however i want it to work here. I'm not writing university papers where i have to offer references.

But after that defiant little statement here are some links to sites back up what i've said. Take there credibility as you want.

YOU ARE PAYING THE MOST AND GETTING ONE OF THE WORST.

The countries that have the best cover have NATIONAL HEALTH CARE SYSTEMS.

When will you learn that you are being tricked like fools.

Anyhow, some of your links point to WHO studies from 2000, slightly out of date?

Of course they don't get billed as much, it comes out of their sky-high income tax!!!

The health affairs link does not even have any info to support your case! The US is not even included in most of the comparisons, and when it is, it's even or more favorable than the other countries.

Comparing health care systems by overall healthiness of the populations is bunk, Lifestyle is the biggest deciding factor there, and we americans do love our vice and gluttony.

There are numerous documented instances of people coming from all over the world to receive health care in the US, guess someone forgot to tell them they could have gotten better care at home!!! Shame about those plane tickets and hotel bills...

Here's one from the left wing mouthpiece MSNBC, shame about this little girl's plight, thank God the US health care system was here for her. Guess noone told the parents that their native New Zealand has the model health system of the world!!!

Years of lobbying convinced the New Zealand government to cover the $1.4 million cost of Matisse’s planned transplants.

What if she would have died during the years they were lobbying the government medicine overlords to pay for her care, that they could not even provide and had to outsource???

I'm probably just a sick worthless person for using a child's plight to make my point though, right?

Leave Barack Alone!

So all of this is a diversion by the people who want to, frankly, hurt President Obama
Barbara Boxer.

No this is about people waking up and smelling the kool-aid!

President Obama tried to convince lawmakers in his own party of the urgent need to pass heathcare "reform" due to the "crisis" in the heathcare industry. He did not succeed, his deadlline came and went!

Now Democrats play the victim. ObamaCare must really be in trouble.

If the plan were good, you would expect its proponents to be staking their arguments on its merits.

Instead, they are turning this into a debate about the opponents!

The old Bait and Switch!
online.wsj.com...

Only hours after the Obama White House told supporters to “punch back twice as hard” against critics, near St. Louis, African-American conservative Kenneth Gladney was attacked and savagely beaten by four N-word-spouting thugs wearing the purple t-shirts of the ultra-leftist Service Employee International Union (SEIU), one of the nation's two biggest government employee unions.

The Democrats have really taken this healthcare reform argument to a new level. First we had the switch from healthcare reform to health insurance reform. That one happened in a matter of one day. One press conference. The talking points went out and the Democrats received their new marching orders .. this is no longer a battle over healthcare. We now have a new enemy to contend with: the insurance industry. Easy to figure out why … Obama’s behavioral scientists told him that people liked their doctors. It was the insurance companies they hated … so shift the focus and demonize insurance.

The people in Washington are aware of how most Americans feel about this healthcare disaster bill. You must remember though, that they will probably pass it anyway. They have the votes to do it. Realize this, they don't really care what you think. They are owned by handlers much more powerfull than the public they represent. But the only thing the voters can do, is to remove them at the next election time. That is the ultimate last word for the voters.

These representatives who vote for this bill must be reminded that this will be their last term in Congresss if they vote for this bill, as that is the only other thing they really understand. let them know that, and do it often.

Oh dear you have torn to shreds my 2 second google search. What i've said must be wrong.

So comparing health care systems by overall healthiness is wrong and lifestyle is the determining factor of healthiness according to you. Is that your professional opinion as a health care professional? I find it ironic that you have just scorned me about not backing up my statements with references then you go ahead and say this.

Well since i know a lot of about health care i will school you some. Public health is one branch of a health care system. A good health care system will have a good public health side to it, which will provide good health education to the everyday citizen so that they are armed with the knowledge of what are good and bad lifestyle choices in regards to their health and well being. So with that in mind i would say overall healthiness is the correct determining factor of which to compare health care systems from different nations, but please feel free to continue to make blanket statements that are completely ludicrous because you are obviously the master of all things health and i am but a child in your presence when it comes to your knowledge of health, shall i go on being sarcastic???

Oh people are coming to america for health care from other countries that must make your health care system most awesomeness of them all. Wow gee you are real good at logic? Do you have a degree or something?

You have very expensive private health companies that can provide excellent specialized service to those who can afford it. So yeah with that in mind sure plenty of people will come to america to recieve specialized treatment of obscure health issues of which may not be provided in their home countries but they will be paying top dollar for this e.g. ($1.4 million.) Does this mean the average joe in america is receiving superior health care to the average joe in some other country say new zealand where this specialist treatment is not offered, NO IT DOES NOT.

Also ask yourself this would the U.S. government foot the bill for some poor kid from the U.S. who had the same ailment as the N.Z. kid to receive treatment in the U.S. of a cost of $1.4 million. Highly unlikely.

As for brits not getting billed as much as U.S. because they pay it all in SKY HIGH INCOME TAX as you put it. Well i would love for you to bring up some evidence what the average say english person pays in taxes compared to the average U.S. citizen. I have a hunch that U.S. citizens would pay a bucket load more tax. Another way of looking at it is if we added up the total cost of health care in england and compared it to the U.S. i'm sure it would be a lot more in the U.S.

ZOMG WTFBBQ you say? But the english has a national health care system run by the government surely its costly and inefficient and corrupt etc etc.. Well no not really, its run pretty well and it is pretty efficient. You see their is some accountability in the government. Employee pay scales and all that, no CEO's receiving golden hand shakes etc. Where as in private enterprise there is a lot more room for inefficiency, corruption and greed (ENRON. Firstly since its a private company its all about the bottom line and all about making the biggest gains for investors, squeezing as much money as they can out of their customers.

Anyways its plain and simple FOR ONE OF THE MOST DEVELOPED COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD YOU ARE PAYING THE MOST FOR YOUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM AND RECIEVING SOME OF THE WORST TREATMENT.

THAT IS BECAUSE YOUR SYSTEM IS PRIVATE AND PRIVATE COMPANIES BY DESIGN ARE TRYING TO SCREW YOU OVER TO GAIN A PROFIT.

From now on any objection to the above statement of fact in CAPITOLS will be received by me as either denial or pride one or the other.

In conclusion you yanks deserve your current health care system. Good luck slaves.

Well..since i am one of the "poor people" i wouldn't mind having socialized medicine..when i or my wife gets sick to the point we have to see a doctor, that doc sticks it to us with a 120.00 office visit bill to tell me or her we are sick..lol..and prescribe us with pills that cost about the same amount...so we end up not going anymore and try to find holistic ways to keep well..

I understand the dilemna of doctors bills...and the frustration of being sick, and lacking health insurance.

Although, we can not look to the government to solve our problems for us. The government was not put in place to provide for the people.

Your frustration seems to come from the cost of medical care.
And as it has been established here in this thread...there is not going to be any such thing as free healthcare provided by the government.

You see, the socialized healthcare you speak of will not be free...it will be paid for with tax dollars. So everyone will pay for it, and since the government has proven that it is the most expensive provider of any service, any regulation...we can count on socialized healthcare to be the most expensive, least adequate form of heathcare to ever exist!

Are we prepared to lose?

Just remember, we are the ones outside the palace gate and the royalty within can ignore us if they so choose and do whatever they want. They have become King George. Have we the courage to become patriots?

The question we must ask ourselves is, are we prepared to deal with the consequences of losing? This is a crucial question because as president Obama works hard to keep his campaign promise to “transform America” into a totalitarian state, the result of that transformation for you and I will be profound. Consider some of the following consequences and ask yourself if you and your family and we as a community are ready to deal with them.
