These two corrupt political parties serve themselves well but the people of this nation terribly.

It is almost impossible to discuss the real issues involved with real government without having one of these real morons throw a party based deflectionary issue into it.

They absolutely refuse to believe or to allow other Americans to simply be Americans, but rather insist you divide yourself to the left or the right so they can tar what ever subject you are speaking to with the widest possible brush.

I don't care what Richard Nixon, or Teddy Roosevelt or Woodrow Wilson let alone George Bush I, II or the 79th did, I care what the clown in office today is doing, who said he wanted the job today, and I expect him or her to get real results and not give me real excuses and lay the blame on someone elses door. If you can't do the job, don't ask for the job! If you didn't understand what all was involved when you asked for the job...well hey, you clearly weren't and aren't qualified for the job!

There has got to got to be some real accountability in our Government and the best place to start is with the current crop of politicians actually serving in Government and the best time to do it is NOW!

There is no point in putting off until tomorrow what you can do today, and no use in putting off till later what you can do right now!

America used to be a nation of standards NOT EXCUSES.

As far as I can tell, most politicians lose their personal stances once they become politicians. Stop with the left and right. They are playing games and not fixing the country. Stop playing their games.

I agree.
I would like to add to that-that I wish more of us could see and understand this,so that we could actually put on our listening ears when a person is trying to be informative..without all of the back and forth emotional mind#@&%.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no YOUR side and MY side,....none of this even matters. Those are simple talking points, not the big picture.

How can we learn if we don't listen? Of course,I listened when B.O. was campaigning, but I guess I didn't listen close enough,or maybe I only heard what I wanted to hear-I'm disillussioned.

The truth is,I was glad when he won,but I was glad for the wrong reasons.I was still naive enough to believe that his winning was going to help bring our country closer together as a people.Help close the racial divides.

That is not a reason to bring in a president. I didn't vote, but if I had,I would have voted for him,and I would have been wrong.Doing nothing is just as wrong I suppose.

I just feel like I don't have any answers or solutions because I'm listening to lies and misinformation. It would be nice if everyone would point out their own thoughts, but without the lies.Because they won't,we have to make informed decisions based on misinformation and deciet even from our politicians-who do work for us.

Even if I didn't vote, they still work for me.

In a perfect world......

I like to read these “HOT” political threads without interfering but I got to step in to say I freaking agree with you on this.

Unfortunately, I personally think that these elites will have a lot to benefit from chaos, civil unrest, just showing the contrast between them and the people(the savages).

These healthcare townhall meetings and Congressional speaking engagements are starting to turn violent and ugly. We're in trouble folks.

I know.

Both sides calling the other side "Brown shirts" and everything else. Eventually I thought there would be some kind of "awakening"....but not like this. This isn't a real awakening IMO.

These are just people who are scared because they have no idea what is truly going on.

I wish things were different and I don't want to see this country go down this road.

No I blame them too, actually.

Despite their "man of the people" posture they're mostly a bunch of megalomaniacal ego strokers just like the GOP. When the chips come down they're certainly willing to cover their rich pals behinds, just like the GOP, even though they roll over on the average Joe, just like the GOP.

I am not some dedicated liberal Democrat - I just have a beef with the right in particular. But also one with political ideologies and parties in general.

I refuse to join either major party, they are way too entrenched in their power, both of them are coalitions of special interests. I don't even join any of the third parties, because I don't want to be hamstrung by some semi-religious ideological belief system. My belief system is simple: principle tempered with pragmatism. Identifying oneself with an ideology is like programming yourself as if you were a robot.

I used to be a hardcore Libertarian, but I left the party because I decided the whole Milton Friedman "pure free market" thing was bunk based on flawed assumptions about human nature - interestingly exactly the conclusion I came to about Marxism

I find myself defending Obama, but mostly it's from the "OMG he's worse than HITLER!" hysterical nonsense.

We have a lot of drama queens here

On the other hand, so far I am not hugely impressed with his performance as President.

He's taken a more practical, far less hegemonic approach on foreign policy.

On the other hand, his "transparency" has been notably selective.
He has taken the ball of executive privilege handed to him by Clinton and Bush and kept running - very disappointing.
He has promised relief for the common man and instead provided relief for badly run mega-corporations - also disappointing.

If he can get a health care plan passed that prevents what happened to me - losing your health insurance and getting sick - passed, I will forgive him a bit.

But even though I voted for him last November, because he offered by far the better course of the two likely candidates, he can't count on my vote in 2012, it depends on what he does until then primarily, and also who runs against him.

I'm not bitter or enraged, because it was always clear that Obama was a solidly establishment candidate. I didn't really expect a whole bucket of hope & change, I was willing to settle for a couple of minor course corrections and a couple fewer disastrous ideas.

So far the jury is still out IMO.

Yeah, I am sorry, I had you pigeonholed as a particular ideological type, and it was an unfair assumption. I misunderstood your point and reacted with anger instead of reason.

My apologies, and please see my post above

Fascist?
Look, you guys had eight years, and you ran this country into the ground. Now we're supposed to blame all the damage on the guy who has been in office a few months?
Get real

Just so you will remember.:

The Obama Baseline 11/04/08

The inflation rate was 3.7%
Unemployment was 6.5%
The prime was at 4%
The Dow closed at 9,625
The NASDAQ closed at 1,780 The S&P closed at 1,005
Oil was $60 a barrel.

JFK was the only recent President I liked. Most of the rest were scum AND they were NOT working for the American people. Bush took up where Clinton left off and Obama is following in Clinton's and The 2 Bush's footsteps.

Take the blinders off and LOOK at the laws that have been passed and the bills on deck. There is no difference between the republicans and the democrats they both are working towards the same goal the complete destruction of the USA. There is Sovereignty Bankruptcy and that is what we are being driven towards NOT socialism. Once the USA is bankrupt the World Bank and IMF will rule this country and nobody gets to vote on anything.

SAP's often result in deep cuts in programmes like education social and health care, and the removal of subsidies designed to control the prices of basics such as food and milk. SAP's hurt the poor most...

Structural Adjustment Policies are economic policies which countries must follow in order to qualify for new World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) loans and help them make debt repayments on the older debts owed to commercial banks, governments and the World Bank. Although SAPs are designed for individual countries but have common guiding principles and features which include export-led growth; privatisation and liberalisation; and the efficiency of the free market. Is this what you want for the USA? The banks to tell us to strip away ALL social programs? This is why I am scared to death.

And Obama is right on track

Money - Doubled money supply in three months and with new T-bills the banks can issue $97 of fair dust for every $3 of T bills they buy. The US dollar has been trashed and the Chinese already know it. They are starting to dump T-bills and are calling for a different international trade currency. (The auction of those t-bills just flopped.) ATS

Food - Almost there. The bill to wipe out US farming has passed the house. The famine set up by Cargill VP during Clinton's watch is about to come home to roost. ATS

Employment - Without a manufacturing base there can be no sustained employment. We had LESS manufacturing jobs in 1996 than in 1970. Clinton's ratifying the World Trade Organization accelerated the shipping of US jobs overseas.

Education - the U.S. ranks 21st out of 29 of OECD countries in math

... Surveys of corporations consistently find that businesses are focused outside • the U.S. to recruit necessary talent. In a 2002 survey, 16 global corporations complained that American schools did not produce students with global skills. United States companies agreed. The survey found that 30 percent of large U.S. companies “believed they had failed to exploit fully their international business opportunities due to insufficient personnel with international skills.” One respondent to the survey even noted, “If I wanted to recruit people who are both technically skilled and culturally aware, I wouldn’t even waste time looking for them on U.S. college campuses.... In 2000, 28 percent of all freshmen entering a degree-granting institution required remedial coursework
Junk Food Diet

Energy - Without reasonable access to energy out industrial civilization will collapse. Cap and Trade, the Environmental Movement, and anti nuclear movement are attacks against our industrial base.

Military - Already in place with agreement from Canada to assist signed 2/14/2008

With the above to worry about, whether Obama is a black or a democrat, is a non-issue. Or it is a red herring to decoy attention away from what is important. Unfortunately from what I have seen here the decoy is working. People will be yelling racist and defending Obama because he is a black democrat, while Obama finishes destroying the USA. The Elite picked well.
