I have this scary thought that before 2012 martial law will have been declared and elections suspended. Obama will become the U.S.own version of Castro.

Obama looks like a dictator in the making. Even my 91 year old mother told me that she was ashamed to have a socialist as president.

Man, if you don't see if coming you are never going to know what hit you.

I'd like to hear how you guys see this playing out.

Bush was supposed to be the last president before Obama.

A dictator i.e. no more presidential elections will GUARANTEE a revolution; it will be far easier for tptb to just keep shamming elections with loaded ballots and questionably unregulated electronic voting machines. Otherwise they will lose the power they hold.

We had the election as usual in 08.
Don't mean to be nit picky but who cares that you have a feeling? Isn't something a bit more sustantial required tha a feeling?
I get that most people here are under 30, you need to get some perspective. Read some history. Learn how politics and money and power work.

IMO we are in uncharted waters here. I am not trying to promote fear-mongering. I am only trying to prepare myself for an uncertain future. I don't want to wait until my plate is dished out before I know what has been cooked for me to eat.

I don't think Obama will get re-elected at the rate he is going. He won't take losing the throne easily. I think he will see that coming. The promise of only a temporary suspension of elections may fool the masses.

The question is how are they going to pull in off in such a manner that the masses are duped or broken before they revolt.

I think TPTB like his ideology and will promote him as leader of the first world empire.,

I would not focus on 2012 so much it may be sooner then you are excepting.

It will never happen. There's far to many armed patriots that will protect all of what America is/was when push comes to shove. We're beginning to see the tip of the iceberg with people really starting to come awake with this healhcare issue. No sitting president in our lifetime will ever be able to declare dictatorship over the USA.

To keep things is perspective, Michigan alone has just as many registered gun owners as we have soliders serving in all the armed forces combined.

So... let’s get this straight, you think Obama will suspend the elections and become a U.S. version of Castro, because he looks like a dictator to you; and your grandmother (in her 90's) believes he is socialists, which makes her ashamed. You further opine, that you think he will preemptively declare martial law and suspend elections because he knows he will lose the 2012 election, and also because TPTB want to set him up as world emperor .

This is what is wrong with the anti-Obama movement. They present no basis for their fears other than fear itself. The reasoning seems to be “the Democrats are all socialists commie pinkos who want to destroy American values and roll a joint with the constitution, Obama is a Democrat, therefore he must be _____ you fill in the blank (evil, the anti-Christ, a Kenyan, a socialist, a terrorists, a Muslim)
Do you even know what true Socialism is? Do you know that medicare and medicaid are forms of socialized medicine? So are my VA benefits which allow me to access health care as a Veteran which I could not otherwise afford because I am self employed. Do you know that Castro is a Communist?
What is it about Liberals that make you so afraid that you honestly fear that they want to take you freedoms away, while Neo-cons hide behind the flag you wave so proudly while quietly stripping the citizens of their civil liberties and wiping their ***es with the Constitution?
I have no reason to choose sides in this, I’m a life long Republican from a Conservative Red State, raised by a middle class white family. I served in the Navy for 8 years and put myself through college and Law School on the GI Bill and Gov’t Loans. But when I first read of the 911 conspiracies it pissed me off, I said “no way our Gov’t could have had anything to do with that”! Then I researched the theories and became intrigued. I still don’t KNOW what happened, but it made me watch things more closely– on both sides. And I can tell you that I am ashamed of my fellow conservatives for becoming sore losers. Childish, and obsessive, it seems rather than find out what he truly represents, or who the true PTB are that are pulling his strings, it is easier to scream from the rooftops that he is a socialist, or not eligible for office. These things are simply not true. There is likely a reason to fear Obama, just as there was to fear Bush and Clinton before him, but please, for the love of God, give me something to research besides your feelings and your grandmother's fears.

i see more like - the government will run out of money, and the military will side with the people over them. this could very well happen in 2010, 2011 or 2012.

OK, well...in some aspect, I agree with you. Things are not going well for us right now. However, I hope with all my heart, that the doom & gloom that a lot of people post on is not true. Does it look good for us? No...do I think that we are headed for dictatorship? No. I would tend to agree more with the collapse of the government due to badly run economics.

I take offense to being called paranoid. As a person with a mental illness (BiPolar Affective Disorder) I know how it feels to be thought inferior for having a mental illness. I know my my diagnosis and it is not paranoid. so you can say I'm crazy if you want. Personally, I think bashing people for their mental illnesses is dirty pool.

Sorry for the paranoia comment. It is obviously not an attack on your mental illness. Seeing that I do not know you, how could I have assumed that you were mentally ill? I was more pointing out that fact that people are posting some, almost, absurd things about the government and where we are headed. I say almost absurd because sometimes it looks like we are headed for anything.

Anyway, again, sorry for any offense that you took. It was not my intention to single you out.

Do you mean your 91 year old mother who has depended on socialized medicine the last 26 years? Does she even know that Medicare is socialized medicine? If not, it is because it is run through private health insurance companies just as any proposed goverment option will be.
