So... let’s get this straight, you think Obama will suspend the elections and become a U.S. version of Castro, because he looks like a dictator to you; and your grandmother (in her 90's) believes he is socialists, which makes her ashamed. You further opine, that you think he will preemptively declare martial law and suspend elections because he knows he will lose the 2012 election, and also because TPTB want to set him up as world emperor .
Wow, looks like some heavy thought has gone into this post. You certainly don’t seem to be into fear mongering at all. All of these hypotheses are completely justifiable and verified by ... what exactly?
This is what is wrong with the anti-Obama movement. They present no basis for their fears other than fear itself. The reasoning seems to be “the Democrats are all socialists commie pinkos who want to destroy American values and roll a joint with the constitution, Obama is a Democrat, therefore he must be _____ you fill in the blank (evil, the anti-Christ, a Kenyan, a socialist, a terrorists, a Muslim)
Do you even know what true Socialism is? Do you know that medicare and medicaid are forms of socialized medicine? So are my VA benefits which allow me to access health care as a Veteran which I could not otherwise afford because I am self employed. Do you know that Castro is a Communist?
What is it about Liberals that make you so afraid that you honestly fear that they want to take you freedoms away, while Neo-cons hide behind the flag you wave so proudly while quietly stripping the citizens of their civil liberties and wiping their ***es with the Constitution?
I have no reason to choose sides in this, I’m a life long Republican from a Conservative Red State, raised by a middle class white family. I served in the Navy for 8 years and put myself through college and Law School on the GI Bill and Gov’t Loans. But when I first read of the 911 conspiracies it pissed me off, I said “no way our Gov’t could have had anything to do with that”! Then I researched the theories and became intrigued. I still don’t KNOW what happened, but it made me watch things more closely– on both sides. And I can tell you that I am ashamed of my fellow conservatives for becoming sore losers. Childish, and obsessive, it seems rather than find out what he truly represents, or who the true PTB are that are pulling his strings, it is easier to scream from the rooftops that he is a socialist, or not eligible for office. These things are simply not true. There is likely a reason to fear Obama, just as there was to fear Bush and Clinton before him, but please, for the love of God, give me something to research besides your feelings and your grandmother's fears.

Thank you Donnie D., Tyr Song, Ophiuchus 13 and
MarshMallow_Snake. This is exactly the sort of response I was hoping to see. Doesn't everybody have some thoughts on the direction they think we are headed?

I am no psychic or prophet. I don't think I claimed to have any almighty insight.

I just threw my ideas out there as I was hoping someone else would. I am just just an average jane who sees danger signs and am trying to interpret their meaning. To quote my original post. "I'd like to hear how you guys see this playing out. "

When I suggested that Obama was becoming our Castro my thoughts we running in the direction of a regime state, not in terms of his ideology.

Hope to God my gut feeling is wrong and that in 2012 you can say :"I told you so." If I'm right I won't have the opportunity to tell you so.

I take offense to being called paranoid. As a person with a mental illness (BiPolar Affective Disorder) I know how it feels to be thought inferior for having a mental illness. I know my my diagnosis and it is not paranoid. so you can say I'm crazy if you want. Personally, I think bashing people for their mental illnesses is dirty pool.

Thank you for saying that. I guess I am a little sensitive. It comes with the territory.

I think you are probably right about the economy being the problem. Guess we should recognize that rebirth can come from out of the ashes.

BTW your avatar reminds me of my U.S.Senators.

Thanks for the positive outlook there. I think

You know maybe TPTB don't have their # together any more than the rest of us do.

Anything can be taken to extremes. Should the government be running the auto and banking industries?

Here is something I posted to my blog in late January early February of this year. It was right around this time that I started noticing a massive uptick in Obama conspiracy threads. It’s a bit wordy, but you might find it somewhat interesting.

It's the end of the world as we know it: Part I

So I like to keep up with offbeat news, you know conspiracy theories, aliens and Bigfoot kind of stuff. I’m fascinated by how they’re started, how they’re perpetuated and by those who don’t just believe them, but actually treat them like a religion. For them facts, common sense and Occam’s Razor mean nothing. Instead, it’s all about faith.

There are two big areas being mined for conspiracy theories these days: the approach of the year 2012, when many people believe the Mayan calendar (
www.usatoday.com...) predicts the world will end; and the election of President Barak Obama, who many people believe is the pawn of a secret group of world leaders often referred to as the New World Order.
(en.wikipedia.org...(conspiracy_theory))

The 2012 theory varies from conspiracy to conspiracy. Some see the end of the Mayan calendar, which is in and of itself debatable (en.wikipedia.org...) as the Catholic Apocalypse. Others see a catastrophic event like a meteor hitting the earth, and some believe that it won’t be just a meteor but an entire planet (answers.yahoo.com...) colliding with us. It is said that astronomers are either silenced by the government or they can’t see the meteor/planet because it is behind our sun.

Conspiracy’s concerning President Obama revolve mostly around him being a pawn of the NWO and using his cult of personality to create a totalitarian state in much the same way Hitler did in Nazi Germany. Apparently with Obama in power, citizens will be stripped of their right to bear arms (thestateofamerica.wordpress.com...), a civilian police force will be created (forums.hsn.com...), martial law will be declared and our evil alien overlords will be allowed to feast on us like cattle. (blogs.chron.com...)

Okay, that last part is a bit of a joke…or is it?

Mr. David Icke (en.wikipedia.org...) a one time footballer now rabid conspiracy theorist, believes that many of the world’s leaders, including Britain ’s late Queen Mother and George Bush are actually Reptoids. For those not in the know, Reptoids are reptilian beings from another galaxy that eat human flesh. On the subject of Icke, he’s sure that Obama and his “controllers” are pulling a fast one (www.davidicke.com...) over on the world and that we’ll be goose-stepping and having our brains eaten by our Reptoid masters even before the 2012 comet reduces us to space dust.

Icke isn’t the only one convinced were heading towards certain doom. Well known warrior against the New World Order, Alex Jones (en.wikipedia.org...(radio)) is so sure he’s releasing a movie (www.youtube.com...) on the coming Obama nightmare. His thoughts mirror Icke’s, minus the carnivorous Reptoids, and end with rebellious citizens being imprisoned in concentration camps (www.theforbiddenknowledge.com...) in Colorado. According to Jones, the children of our country are already being indoctrinated in ways (www.prisonplanet.com...) similar to the Nazi youth movement.

Facts, theories and logic aside I’m left with two questions: “towards what end? and “why now?”
