Secular societies, as a general rule, do not oppress women. At least, they don't oppress women to a greater extent than they oppress men. People are
still locked into gender roles in any society to some degree, but doesn't it seem it's the societies under the hold of organized religions that are
Take say the Islamic countries, or India, as opposed to Asia or the secular West, which are far more egalitarian. Or better yet, ancient indigenous
societies, some of which were/are virtually matriarchal.
Plus, take in the fact that almost every modern cult leader has been accused of being a pervert. Maybe THAT's why organized religions are so
I'm not stating religion invented sexism, but I do think it's the reason why there is more sexism towards women than towards men.
