Brits slam US strategy in Afghanistan

The international military mission in Afghanistan has delivered "much less than it promised" due to the lack of a realistic strategy, an influential committee of lawmakers said Sunday.

In a report, the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee said without a clear strategy stabilizing Afghanistan had become "considerably more difficult than might otherwise have been the case."

Lawmakers criticised US policies in Afghanistan and Pakistan and warned the "considerable cultural insensitivity" of some coalition troops had caused serious damage to Afghans' perceptions that will be "di

Could someone please remind me what the US mission in Afghanistan is again. Capture Bin Lauden? Punish the 911 perps? Build an oil pipeline? Stabilize the ME. Establish a presence to contain Russia/China?

Apparently our "coalition" is beginning to ask the same questions.

I think we should declare victory and come home or at least establish a coherent exit strategy. Does that make sense? I mean 8 years and are we closer to our goal; what ever that is.
