Hello everyone. I need help with converting an iso file to an excutable directly on the computer so that I need not burn it on a DVD and then install it.

The program is a Visual Studio 2005 which I downloaded from the MSDN website. But the thing is my dvd writer is not working properly and I cannot repair it as of now. So, I need to convert the image file into executable so that I can install it directly.

All help would be greately appreciated.

You can use 7-Zip.

As its name says, it handles compression/decompression of files, in several formats, and it can open ISO files and extract their contents as if it was a ZIP file.

You want to mount / emulate the ISO instead of burning it, you need mounting software.

I use Daemon Tools it is free. once installed point the software to the ISO you want emulated as a CD.

Firstly I downloaded 7zip and extracted it. And then I was able to install it. Now I have visual studio on my computer.

Thank you ArMaP and Sauron for your help.

Easy. (and somehow not mentioned so far... weird)

Use Daemon Tools Lite.. It's a free download. Basically it lets you mount ISO images so you can use them as a stand alone drive and therefore the same as having a dvd in the drive. 30 second install easy as hell to use.

Why does no one else not know about this?

Edit: Oops just noticed an almighty mod said the same thing. Sorry Sauron!
