Chinese 'trusts prostitutes more' than politicians...

China's prostitutes are better-trusted than its politicians and scientists, according to an online survey published by Insight China magazine.

The survey found that 7.9% of respondents considered sex workers to be trustworthy, placing them third behind farmers and religious workers.

"A list like this is at the same time surprising and embarrassing," said an editorial in the state-run China Daily.

Politicians were far down the list, closer to scientists and teachers.

Insight China polled 3,376 Chinese citizens in June and July this year.

"The sex workers' unexpected prominence on this list of honour... is indeed unusual," said the China Daily editorial.

"At least [the scientists and officials] have not slid into the least credible category which consists of real estate developers, secretaries, agents, entertainers and directors," the editorial said.

Soldiers came in fourth place.

I find this hilarious! It IS horrible that the Chinese trust prostitutes more than their politicians, but they have every reason to!

Politicians are more like serial killers.

They promise you everything, half of the public don't trust them, the other half trust them blindly, then you bring him home... then he tie you up and kill you. Exactly like a politician.

Can't blame them. Prostitutes are pretty trustworthy I'd imagine, give them money, you get your service. Politicians you give them your money, and your lucky if they do one thing you want.

I guess it depends on what you're worried about.

I trust prostitutes more than politicians also.

Politicians are the lowest sludge on the planet.

At least prostitutes are helpful and understanding of your needs

I think that the reason is as follows:

Prostitutes have to provide customers with satisfactory service to have income. This is more like free market.

While those government officials have weapons to forcefully grab wealth from citizens. They do not have to please them.

At least some people have regained there common sense.

I would also suggest that prostitution is a much more honourable profession and held in higher public regard than politics and politicians, even in a sexually repressed society like the UK!

Well, do you drive on public highways, access free medical care, have running water, access to power/energy ? Have you ever collected welfare ? Do you or have you ever collected extraordiary-circumstances financial assistance ? Are your streets patrolled by law-enforcement ? Do you rely on the government to keep foreign-troops from your front door or do you battle with them every time you want to leave the house? Do your kids attend government schools ? Can you take your neighbour to court if he shoots your windows out or rams your car or robs your business ?

I mean for all we know, you may live in a cabin in the wilderness and draw your water from a river, bake your own bread, grow your own crops, slaughter your own beasts, make your clothing from skins and shoot anyone who crosses the marked tree down yonder which signifies the border to your land.

Otherwise, for all its perceived faults, your government ensures you're able to sit at a keyboard in relative safety, instead of having to run out and engage in hand to hand combat with those intent on taking what you have, right ?

Public highways: Yes, but in disrepair
Free Medical Care: No
Running water: Sure, with plenty of additives
Access to power/energy: Ya we got that, nice and expensive
Collected Welfare: No, I know plenty who have done it their entire lives...
Collected financial assistance: No, not elligible in my case
Streets Patrolled: Yes, constantly and they harrass everyone they see
Government Defense: Yes, but foreign gangs run rampant
Govenment Schools: Yes, plenty are indoctrinated everyday and lose the ability to perform critical thinking.
Take your neighbour to court: Ya, but they'll probably win, especially if they're here illegally
