One of the things I really liked about Windows 98 was that it would desplay the URL of whatever link the cursor was hovering over in the taskbar at the bottom of the page. XP pro is not doing this for me. Is there a way to configure it so that it does and also, is there a standalone app that will do this so that such URLs can be copied and pasted?

All help appreciated.

Edit:

I figured out that if I right clicked on them and brought up their "Properties", I could get the URLs that way, but I still wish that XP would do this automatically.

I suppose you are talking about the "status bar".

Look in the "View" menu, there should be an option somewhere to show it, I don't remember it well, I don't use XP for more than two years.

Yes sir. I did as you suggested, found the appropriate reference and now can see the URLs. Thankyou. Not a newbie, but still a dummy.
