You state that they were abnormal, wouldn’t Andre the Giant fit that description as well? At only 7 ft 0.5 in he doesn’t quite fit the height you suggest, but To someone, 5’ tall or less, he would tower over them.

As far as mother’s dieing at birth, this happens to regular size babies mothers as well, most who are giving birth to premature or undersized babies.

Another question to ask is whether they actually measured these giants or whether it was an estimation based on perception, if this is the case it can not be used as a standard, and even if they measured one of these giants, who is to say they still did not exaggerate the written account.

The problem is there has been no hard evidence of a race of giants, there are many faked skeletons, but that is about it. For every other race of people there have been bones found archeological evidence that they existed, but for this race of giants that is proposed, there are only stories.

To deny the existence of aliens, is to deny yourself, or at least part of yourself.

No it isn't. That is a remarkably glib answer to a straightforward statement of opinion. It is entirely reasonable for the poster to make his statement, based upon his own personal experience. That's more than most 'true believers' can cite for their faith in aliens.
