Thank you for your continued insensitivity.

Sorry for your loss, but you must understand that Research has nothing to do with emotions or sensitivity if you wish to reach the plain facts.

i just got done watching the video and wow are you really paranoid? instead of thinking so much about the gov using the military for civ why dont you look at the fact that we are going to be getting rid of gitmo reallllllly soon and need more MPs obviously to conduct these operations....i reallly dont think that you all should be worried at all....lol

What makes you think Obama is actually going to keep his word on this single promise when he's broken every other one?

And assuming that, why wouldn't they just transfer the guards from Gitmo along with the prisoners? They're all trained, experienced, and would be thrilled to be working in this country, I'm sure.

The same prez who said "transparency" was also the person who signed the presidential exec. order on his first *&#(@!*&# day of office to prevent the release of personal information of any president (that is the summarized version of the PEO hide the records). Don't think he will be keeping any promise he has made to us, the gun-toting, bible-thumping, knuckle-dragging, gas guzzling, dumb americans. He and his elite group of family and friends look down at us and I applaud all the sheeple that voted for this jokester. Idiots.....

Maybe if China has a major disaster (3 Gorge's Dam comes to mind) and maybe if the entire world economy goes completely to crap (not just the swirling in the toilet mess going on now but completely through the crapper) and maybe if natural disasters occur in the US (earthquakes on the west coast/hurricans on the east coast) and maybe if the US goes into somekind of unrest, then, the military will have to protect American assets and those that are a threat to the unrest or are apart of the looting/rioting/destruction will have to be held somewhere and with the breakdown of the local governments that watch the jails, perhaps the military and these 800 soliders will be the people the gov turns to. (Man that was a long sentence.....)

But again, there are a couple of maybe's in there.

What is that BS?! Why bring that up at all? Is that supposed to garner sympathy, support or something else from the readers or posters on ATS? When one becomes emotional in a debate or exchange of information, it is usually a sign of weakness. Yes it's sad that anyone's death is apart of life and am sorry for your loss as well as everyone else's. But I am not sure this is the place to begin listing those that have died in your family to help make a point, especially when no one was directly making fun of them. That is a good example of an off-topic post.

The military is always changing MOS and rate names. They do like the civies and combine jobs to save manpower. That is the purpose here. Make an entirely new MOS to man the brigs and keep MPs in the field. A military brig is a mean place to be and they need specialized people. Sending an MP to the brig for 4 years, then xfering them to the field can be mentally disrupting.

This is completely false, you're entitled to your opinion, but I will kindly show you how you're wrong.

You state that the military is always changing MOS and rate names. Yes, that is correct, in fact the MP Corp was changed from 95B and 95C to 31 series in 2003, but to be specific, in this instance, it is the Department of the Army, not the military. Also, this is not a name change.....now if this 31E was a change from 31C you'd be correct, but it's not, it is in addition to.

So why? It is redundant, 31Cs are already trained in every aspect of what these 31Es will do.

That is of course, unless you needed a large portion of MPs who 1. could be trained specifically for this kind of work (remember, MOS is mission occupation specialty) just like a Charlie, and 2. A new group of fighting MPs who would be for the most part new to the military and relegated to CONUS considering their ARNG status.

A military brig is a mean place......that's pretty eloquent, but don't see your point. What you fail to understand is that the MP Corp, while the smallest branch in the US Army, is also one of the most specialized. So you're making it sound as if they didn't have specialized personnel for this, and that is false.

Ever been to a US Army Regional Confinement Facility (RCF)? As a military police investigator, I was attached to one of the largest in the US, and trust me, Charlies are very very specialized in every aspect of prisoner care, searches and seizures, riot controls, as well as all other Military Police Aspects.

That's what stinks about this, if they wanted to get MPs with more specialized training concerning Interment/Resettlement Camps, they could have just made this a new Identifier.

There are many specialized identifiers in the MP corps,

Investigator
K9
Protective Services
Domestic Violence
Special Reaction Team
Traffic
Drug Suppression

....to name a few, but you don't see them making a new MOS for every one of them.

Hmmmn, unless you needed a sh#$ load for a potential scenario that's coming.

"we are going to be getting rid of gitmo reallllllly soon and need more MPs obviously to conduct these operations."

I presume you are thinking that the military doesn't have enough folks to continue that little operation? You must assume that the guards couldn't be relocted with the prisoners.

I know a fellow in Alaska who has seen three brand new internment camps in Alaska. They can be reached only by rail through controlled sally-ports. He has also been forced to attend "Relocation and Interment Training". He is a dentist.

Of course it is more in-depth. They simply re-vamped some of the WWII stuff to meet modern TTP's. These guys will be working garrison facilities that are much like typical prison systems as well as combat EPW facilities. They also serve to assist with the repatriation of individuals in a combat environment. As far as it being NCNG getting the training, NCNG was and is doing most of this work overseas. Both RA and the NG units do the same dang work.

I am telling you that you must have faith that the sons and daughters of this great USA will not be putting fellow Americans into camps! Have some faith for crying out loud. I know these kids. They are not blind.

However,.... has anyone asked the question will they do this kind of work in Mexico or Canada... and Will Mexican Troops be willing to do the same here.....

try that path and I might be willing to hold you hand and follow.
