It is a meteorological satellite. It is not for eye candy. Meteorologists don't care about color. Clouds are white.

Ever notice how the earth seems to be more and more covered with clouds on a steady basis?

Selective memory. Nonexistent memory???

'more and more covered...'???

Oh, I don't think so.

1969:
Earthrise

1968:
View from Apollo 8

1968: (again)
First Human view of Earthrise, Apollo 8

Looks like lots of clouds to me, 40 years ago.....

How many here on ATS are even that old????

Sigh.... still using those "Apollo" images as reality?

There have been more clouds daily here in Vegas than I have ever seen... almost daily now when we used to be clear 90% of the year

Ice age she's a commin

They were handiest, with my limited computer image importing skills.

I thought about some ISS photos (unless you think those are fake ??? )????

I just selected something from 40 years ago, showing an almost full hemisphere, to compare to GOES.

Of course, by your logic, if Apollo 8, et al, were 'faked', then so is GOES, so what's the point?

OR, will you accept this as real???

GOES-8

Not sure of the date, guessing from the 1990s sometime...

OH, to add:
Ice age she's a commin

Cool! (pun) Looks like I'm moving yonder, out West anyway. Think the Pacific Ocean will freeze solid??? I don't surf, so don't really care...

From 23,000 miles away the difference in distance between Brazil and Equador isn't that great, from my perspective anyhow.

I'll bow to the awesomeness of your Geographical knowledge and say that it is like you said and over Equador.

In any event, I hadn't played with the zoom function when I posted what you perceived as an error. Thanks for the condescending remarks, though.
