3rd EDIT: Woops I just saw the copyright info of ATS forums and just to be sure, the article is property of 2004 W Radio.
Hello all I'm new to the forum (but not to the site) and I wanted to give you the translation of the article. Oh and the video is longer than what
you've seen, I'm gonna tape it this saturday (from a rerun of the tv show where it was shown in full length), unfortunately, I don't have a capture
card for this

Well here goes:
México D.F., 12 of May, 2004.
-----------------------------------------
After a video of 16 unidentified flying objects was made available on Monday, the Secretary of National Defense, Ricardo Vega Garcia, revealed in an
exclusive interview on W Radio that he prohibited his personnel to 'talk about UFO's or flying saucers, because it would then lead to doubts and
jokes'.
He added that a copy of the video was available to the scientific community, if they wish to analyze it.
The conclusion of the journalist Jaime Maussan, who has been dedicated to the study of the subject for more than ten years, is that the objects filmed
were in fact UFOs.
'That's Maussan's point of view, that's why the video was given to him, so he could get his own conclusions...But that's just his version', not
of the DoD, said Vega in the news program Hoy por Hoy.
He added that the event is not considered a matter of national security.
The video, filmed with infrarred vision equipment by Mexican Airforce Pilots on March 5, shows a series of shiny objects that were flying on more than
3,500 meters (35 km) high, roughly accelerating and changing their course sporadically over the skies of the state of Campeche.
The recording was done while the crew of the plane Merlin C-26 was doing standard surveillance for the fight against drug trafficking.
The objects were not visible to the human eye and at one time they surrounded the plane at a distance of two miles, according to accounts of three
members of the crew.
Vega said that after the event was reported, the video was analyzed on the DoD installations and they reached to the conclusion that there were two
roads to follow: file it as a secret or turn it to somebody that studied this type of phenomena.
"I did not see the use of it staying recorded and stashed and the decision was taken that it should be given to people that have been working all
their lives with this and
could make good use of this, because that's what was said to Jaime Maussan', said the head of the DoD in an interview with Carlos Loret de Mola.
He pointed out that his first impression after seeing the video was that they were planes smuggling drugs, 'but when I started to discuss with the
crew about what those lights might be up to, I said, it can't be that many planes'.

There you go, sorry for any typos or bad spelling :p
