What next we are going to need a Bio-Suit so we don't get it.
www.guardian.co.uk...

Nurseries should take soft toys away from children and discourage them from sharing crayons to stop the spread of swine flu, the government warned today.

And then there is this how idiotic is it going to get.
www.independent.ie...

The most recent news is that the Church of England has now issued an unprecedented order to suspend the "sharing of the chalice" at services of Holy Communion in 16,000 parish churches, as a precaution against the spread of the deadly virus.

Bit late now as schools are on holiday! If they were going to do this it should have been done weeks/months ago.

I know what you mean so why they bother putting these story's out it's ever to keep us scared or it's going to continue well into the new term.
I think they are blowing it all out of proportion you cannot watch the news without them saying it over and over they did the same with bird flu and nothing happend then.

THANKYOU

ANY shared surface can spread a virus. I don't understand the focus on "soft" toys. Some porous surfaces I suppose, could resist cleaning, such as a nerf ball, for example. Kids put things in their mouths; adults do too. *cough*

The trick is to be able to steralize in between, and really, if a child OR adult is sick, they should be staying at home until well after the symptoms have passed. It used to be that children were the vector for most contamination..... these days it seems to me that irresponsible adults do as much or more.

I went to the doctors a few days ago (not for something swine-flu related) and in the waiting room there was a sign that stated "Magazines and Toys have been removed from the waiting area to minimize the spread of swine flu"

I think that's fair enough.

Better safe than sorry.

I don't think it's blown out of proportion at ALL Mars. If anything, I think the stats and numbers are being underreported. H1N1 has SO many parallels to the 1918 Spanish flu, and I believe we're going to see a reemergence of a more virulent flu in the fall. 1918 at least attenuated for a brief period......... this version doesn't seem to be doing so.

Still, I understand your point, I think.......... why focus on tiny little do-nothing procedures when the important protocols are being ignored. Is that the point? I agree, if so. I hope I'm wrong, but I think that H1N1 is going to be a baddie come fall and even extending into the next year.

I also believe that the vaccines are likely to be as damaging overall as the flu itself. I hope to be wrong on both counts.

be safe

YOU'RE WELCOME

I am sick of the coverage of this virus. The media is taking it completely out of proportion. The other day I was watching the local news and I heard one correspondent use the word "pandemic."

Now, I may be mistaken, but I do believe that it was never officially announced to be a pandemic. Also, I may be mistaken once again, but isn't the definition of pandemic mean prevalent throughout a large area?

If the H1N1 virus is a pandemic, what would the regular flu be? And what of the Bird Flu?

At most I think this virus is an epidemic, not on a viral level, but on a lack of common sense level. It's fine to come up with a vaccine for this flu, just like it's fine continuing the regular flu vaccine, but I think people are going to panic once the vaccine comes out and rush to get it, which would further reinforce my idea of the epidemic of lack of common sense.

Who is to blame for the hype? The government? The media? The public? I believe we are all to blame.

This scare mongering, as I mentioned on another thread, is becoming ridiculous. I wonder what the true agenda is at hand. I've heard talk of mandatory vaccinations from local people who I'm guessing heard it from someone else, but this is not confirmation. Has anybody else heard this and if so, where?

But still, the agenda may not be sinister. I doubt it however. After all, they need to fill up all those plastic FEMA coffins we paid for somehow, right?

The British public are to blame because noone is standing up to the government because they take the officials advice as "gospel." Ironic how so many complain about Climate Change and this years crappy summer (both being predicted by government scientists funded by the public) yet when it comes to Swine Flu noone dares says a word because they fear being snuffed out and sent to the Looney Bin.
So much Propoganda has gone on about this flu, that even SkyNews "hotline" link shows a woman wearing a mask holding a telephone. I mean come on, more people have died in plane accidents this year so far than from Swine Flu.
Had you asked anyone what Swine Flu was in March you'd have gotten a blank face and asked "what?", now in June/July everyones fearing there going to die from some mystery illness which is no worse than the common cold.
Get a grip Gordon Brown and stop using NWO tactics on the population to push Tamiflu sale to boost NHS profits.

Actually, it was declared a pandemic and we are currently in Phase 6.
