Byrd, first, not all scientists are ridiculing the movie, I posted the comments of a Research Marine Physicist ,Tim Barnett.

There are quite a few scientists in fields that relate to rapid climate change, that think something very similar is possible, then again you just
have to look at the "pentagon weather nightmare scenario" and you will see that it is not as ludicrous as you make it sound.
Althou is very unlikely that it will happen as fast as it is portrayed in the movie, which I have stated before, many scientists of different but
related fields think rapid climate change is very likely to happen.
Second, the Atlantic conveyor current is nothing like a microwave... your analogy is very bad science and shows how little you know about it.
BTW i think that the systems that Barnett referred to are the social systems among other things, he mentions there will be conflicts because of this,
which is also part of the pentagon weather nightmare scenario.
