Obama. Yes, the first black president. But to jump over all the racial implications, and to go straight to the matter: Is he really what this
country needs right now? I believe his intentions are good. But his method of displaying leadership is rather lacking. His neutrality to the
Iranian election has cost him a few believers. I understand it was a political decision, but the American people in this time of economic depression
needs..."The Decider." It comes a time when a leader is not there at the right moment. Bush pushed Iran into his "Axis of Evil" speech, when at
the time it was Khatami, a reformer, trying to bring his people out of the dark ages. There is a thought that what bush did, allowed Amadinejad's
victory to be swift because the western oppression of it's capitalist ideals. His speeches would have been more detrimental in this time of need had
Iran had him as president instead.
BUT!
Now we have a president who supposedly IS for the regular Joe.
Yet he has not passionately stood on his OWN ground to speak his OWN mind, on how things should be. He is young and inexperienced and perhaps a
little naive, but if one is to take the top office of America his ideals should be made SPECIFIC. And not without detail, which his policies have
been sorely lacking.
There are philosophical ideals, and there are constructive plans. Which from what I've seen he has only given the former. At this time of economic
crises, can he mend the wounds before it gets worse? Before it was the housing crises, next I predict, the credit card companies are going to start
to fail. He needs to take a stance as a complete, an utter leader. That is if only Congress will listen. So far he has been too lenient in his
prison of seeing both sides. Reagan controlled democratic congress because of his prowess as the master orator, does not Obama have that same power?
He must muster his forces within his own CABINET, mind you, to have the American people understand that he has, in fact, a plan! Not street corner
philosophy, just a DETAILED PLAN.
What are you thoughts?

"Obama. What do you think so far?"
Honestly...
I'm on the fence. Somethings he has said and done I completely agree with while others I just cringe! I cant be any more honest than that. For the
record I didn't vote for him nor McPain.

He's been handed a bucket of sh^%$! by the repubs and they want him to make diamonds out of it. He can't, no one can so now no one listens to
anything he says. It's basically just repubs and media trying to catch him slipping up then they talk about that non stop. My prediction tomorrow
is that the first dog will poop on the lawn and Obama will forget to collect it. This will be a national scandal that fox news runs with 24x7 for the
next 3 days. USA makes me sick. Everyone deserves what they are about to get. I hate to say it but it's the truth.

He's as much the first black president as he is another white president.
50/50 Black/White.
Although, if we just screw MLK in his grave, we can just judge him by his skin, and not his content.
I honestly, detested him, but things economically seem to be looking up, so i'm kinda flaberghasted.or however you spell it.
I don't know, i'd of said a month ago kick him out immediately, but right now, i'd say give him another month, we'll see how it goes.

Things are looking up economically, but Obama has nothing to do with that. The market corrects itself. The economy will climb out of this hole, just
as it has in the past. (I would still put some money in precious metals.)
In my opinion, Obama showed himself to be racisist when he said he didn't have all the facts, but the pocie acted stupidly in arresting Gates.
I beleive that racisim will continue to come to the forefront, and will worsen.

People want him to make diamonds out of it because he said he could. People only expect things out of you if you say that you can do it.
He wasn't handed a bucket of anything either. He begged millions of people to vote for him so that he could have it. If he didn't think he could fix
the situation then he shouldn't have ran for the job.
I am sick of the "I inherited this mess" crap that gets thrown around each time something doesn't go his way.

Uh-huh, yeah the republicans were working in a vacuum this whole time, there weren't any democrats in Congress at anytime in the prior eight years of
Pres. Bush's two terms. I seem to recall the dems had a majority for a good portion of that time... Now they have even more of a majority, and they
have the White House...yet the noise remains the same...
Both parties are equally to blame for the problems, yet the majority of the blame lies with the people who voted these idiots into office in the first
place... Politician don't operate in a vacuum, they'll do what they can get away with. so you wanna blame someone? Go take a long hard look in
the mirror and start there...
Republicans...Democrats... Flip sides of the same coin... Thieves who got elected to office knowing that we'll be disinclined to watch over them if
they make all the right sounding noises.
My thoughts on Pres. Obama? Too inexperianced, too naive, Thinks he's a lot smarter than he is. Nothing saying he can't improve over the next few
years, but not too promising, at the moment.

Nice bit of racial bigotry, the KKK would be sooooo very proud of ya, son...
President Obama should be judged on his talents and abilities, not on the fact that his skin carries a bit more melatonin than mine. It would seem
that, despite all the progress we've made in racial issues in the past few decades, we Americans have a long way yet to go...

So Chris Dodd is a republican?
So Bill Clinton's HUD Secretary Andrew Cuomo is a Republican?

So Bill Clinton who pushed for less stringent credit and downpayment requirements is a Republican?

It's really hard to say. I'm not his biggest fan, nor am I his biggest detractor. I'm uncomfortable with the level of govt. spending he thinks is
acceptable, no make that pissed off at the level of govt. spending he thinks is acceptable.
Health care? It would help if he had actually read the bill...to my knowlege he hasn't.
It'll be interesting, that's for sure. I'm not too confident, but I hope I'm wrong.

Your post is most accurate and not without the necessary citations. So is it only going to be "business as usual" or do his speeches resonate a
need for change?

My problem with him is that he makes too many concessions to appease both sides. That is what happens when you vote in a Senator and not a Governor.

The art of politics is comprimise, or leaving everyone equally unhappy. But I agree, he needs to stand his ground on an issue, until such time as a
comprimise is the ONLY way anything at all will be accomplished.
Comprimise too soon, and you're percieved as weakwilled.
So I agree with you on that. But that strikes me as part of his character, and may not be something he can change readily.

I can only see things getting worse. Obama is in a hurry to get Pelosi and Reid to write legislation that will totally destroy this country.
He is giving the ultra libs a free hand, and they have no sense of fiscal responsibility. If he continues, we will not only be bankrupt, we will
degenerate into a 3rd world country.
Citizens are going to have to get politically involved if they wish to stop this, and turn this country around.

He's a typical politician. Nothing new. He does not represent 'change, hope, unity'. He's just a far left 'redistribute the wealth',
soak-the-rich bamboozler.
so ... it's 'business as usual' with a FAR left wing twist.
