GOP congressmen run from reporter asking 'birther' questions

Mike Stark of Firedoglake and Huffington Post thinks he has stumbled onto the reason George W. Bush was elected to the presidency twice: The GOP's base, as exemplified by this ubiquitous "birther" nonsense, must be Insane.

In the linked video below, he puts the birther fictions before a series of Republican congressmen on the hill, and their reactions are priceless.

Much to our surprise and dismay, most of the Republicans Stark spoke with either offer non-answers suggesting a defense of the birthers, or they unequivocally buy the BS, hook, line and sinker.

I haven't laughted so hard in a couple of weeks, to see these politicians running, hiding, speed walking and phone blocking every attempt to discuss this issue. Weather you are a "Birther" or not this video is not only funny but another clear sign that it isn't going to be them to help us take our Country back.

The birthers are rabid, irrational and annoying.

I think those congressmen did the right thing running away from such nonsense.

I belief is if you run you make matters worse no matter the situation! The one Congressman that stayed long enough to answer the question was respected with his answer not supporting the "Birthers" question. He didn't run and will now be left alone but the other's will be continued to be chased the rest of their lives as cowards for not simply stating their position.

That seems like a winning formula for fixing our country....

Exactly....Be honest and as truthful as you know how. Give an answer and you shall be ok to "pass" .......run and you are deemed guilty by your actions..

Since when are they obligated to acknowledge such garbage?

I'm sure they're more concerned about keeping peoples' jobs, keeping roofs over their heads and other important matters.

Only in America can a birth certificate create so much controversy, especially when the economy's in the toilet, people have no jobs and so forth.

Americans aren't exactly known for their priorities.

Now THAT is rich! Hehe...yeah, I had a couple congressmen call me up last night to ask how things were going. Of course, you may be correct. They could possibly be MORE concerned with jobs, roofs, etc, but it doesn't take too much to qualify as 'more' now does it...we need a measurement unit for 'give a crap.'

We'll call them GACs.

Congress has .0050 GACs about the Birther issue.
They have .0051 GACs about my roof, my job, or if I can feed my family.

Side note: 'Birther' will officially be mainstream when my spell checker doesn't turn red on it. (and NO, I don't WANT to click 'add'.)

This is why "Obamabots" lose their arguements against the "Birther Movement", this thread isn't about acknowledgement that it's true or not, it was about simply speaking THEIR opinion about the subject. They don't have to agree but it is their obligation to speak to the people who are the actual voters! Again, you run and hide, you add to the problem. You stand and take a stand weather we agree or not and you will be left alone because we know your stance. Your silly!

Trent Franks is the only one I would even consider voting for, before he got off on that ridiculous tangent (abortion, socialism etc).

He's the only representative who didn't dodge questions, run away, or make themselves look like a childish fool in that video.

Yes, most of the "birther" (I hate that term so much) nonsense is just that - nonsense. However, when elected officials respond so ineptly to a few simple questions, you have to wonder what's going on in their minds, and more importantly how fit they are to be in the position they're in.

At least one republican in office has the balls to give a straight answer, and while I don't agree with most of what Mr. Franks said, I give him props for standing above the rest and speaking his mind.
