yess 4chan can have some gross things on it, some people can handle it and some can't, child porn aside its hardly criminal whatsoever, people get enjoyment out of this sort of stuff, again child porn aside, it is not like they are waging wars in already screwed up places like our own governments....

don't you realize its all about principle, everyone on ATS should be behind 4chan because if they can get blocked, what is stopping this site from getting the gong sooner or later....their excuse for 4chan was child pornography, they could easily say the excuse for closing ATS was because it was causing mental illness by all the bull# that is posted here

Having a slightly warped sense of humor a bit of a taste for macabre or off color jokes is 100% healthy and a good way to deal with reality.

The Cp has to go it's a ruination of a format which encourages free thought in an anonymous manner

AT&T ABSOLUTELY has the capacity to track posters, criminals who spread True child porn... and i'm not talking about an 20 yr old who posts a pic of a 17 yr old in thong...

They could track and see those INDIVIDUALS prosecuted and no one would complain... treating a site like 4chan exactly as one does the Internet itself...

Instead they choose to block the rest of the content

and I'm sorry macabre or off color humor is NOT illegal and in fact is psychologically recognized to be healthy not abnormal behavior

AT&T is in dangerous territory and violating our rights

NO ONE from Anonymous or anyone normal will complain if they bust legitimate terrorists or legitimate pedophiles and I don't much care if I loose a bit of privacy in that process... few would

What they are doing is the start of censoring the internet entirely in a Chinese Govt fashion, it's wrong and

again the answer is simple... don't freak out, don't hack them or commit crimes

Simply don't pay them anymore, the message will be Loud and clear

sure

at@t

They are being ridiculous, a clear message needs to be sent that as consumers we pay them and they need to keep our privacy, I am NOT against stopping genuine pedos nor terrorists but they can not cross the line and start reporting and track our movements and USE genuine security concerns and take advantage of them for minor infractions or worse personal beliefs and purposes of censorship or marketing.

This is the sort of thing that breaks... no shatters the public trust in govt, no matter which way the pendulum swings even if it's to absolute non ability for govt to track a potentially dangerous person, we all loose...

Efforts need to be restricted to the genuine purpose of actually catching a pedophile or terrorist and there are few things or areas in which the ability to look at what we do can be applied...

We can't have this become... a means to simply block speech, manipulate people or bust people for harmless infractions... If they want us to trust them, this sort of thing needs to remain in the realm of catching individuals who shatter lives only... the right to peek should extend to murders and others who would genuinely directly act to harm human life

Any extension of these powers granted needs to be watched and dealt with sanely by non participation with those companies that choose these kinds of actions.

The patriot act was not put in place to know how many Cheetos to sell me a year or to find out what shows I watch...

PC Mag reports crisis is over.

Link to story with sub links to ATNT and 4Chn.

blogs.pcmag.com... nspiracy_t.php

Well alrighty then.

Members staying on top of stories like this reminds me how important it is to stay vigilant or loose your freedoms.

I noticed the words "conspiracy theory" in PC Worlds story. Yea, we're watching out.

A point everyone seems to have missed.
You object to being told that it is a parents job to control what their child sees on the internet. You reply that this is impractical. Hell, you imply it is near-impossible.
Try this.
Wouldn't the problem be non-existent if the parent had raised a child who did not want to see such images?
I do not ask why you cannot stop your children from viewing them. I ask what kind of sick perverted parent are you that you raised children who crave such sights?
Why have you failed to instill in your child a sense of values that would result in them leaving a site immediately should it expose them to such filth? Who, in the end, is to blame if your child possess so few moral values that they actually go looking for such material?
And then to try to blame others for your p*ss poor attempt at raising your children to be decent human beings? Sick twisted parents like you disgust me.
Should I feel guilt if your child breaks into my home and watches my wife and myself engaged in non-missionary position sex? Am I the pervert for not limiting my sex life to what you feel your children should be able to watch or is there something wrong with you for having raised a child who breaks into people's home to spy on them?
Take some responsibility. The whole world should not have to live a rated PG existence because you can't teach your children standards.
You are the real sickie here.
