Triangle UFO hovers low over Indiana field - five helicopters give chase

IN, June 21, 2009 - 3 white lights hover over field, move erratic and then are followed by choppers. MUFON Report # 18242.

This Tipton County, Indiana, witness saw " three white lights in a triangular pattern hovering just a few feet off of the ground over a field." He said he could see that the lights were attached to "a larger, triangular craft." The object moved slightly, then "shot straight up and away fast." The witness had been pulled off to the side of road watching for five minutes, but about two minutes after the object moved away, five helicopters - all with spotlights - "arrived at the area and went in the direction of the craft."

This is an offshoot of this thread I started about a recent rash of triangle shaped UFO sightings. I'm hoping that perhaps some of the more seasoned UFO aficionados and aviation buffs can give us some of their insight on what people are witnessing.

There are several other cases on the website linked above and here from the original thread.

I thought the above sighting was interesting enough to warrant its own thread, but the other cases are fascinating as well.

Are these triangular craft extraterrestrial or super-secret government aircraft? Someone on the other thread suggested they could be a type of stealth lighter-than-air craft, does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Why would a military craft be chased by military helicopters?

Could be that the craft was in distress or it was a foreign spy plan that was intercepted and being escorted somewhere. That's not to imply that i discount the possibility that it was extraterrestrial: anything is possible, and it's important to keep an open mind.

Could be either military reverse engineered alien aircraft or even extraterrestrial itself. but I think its most likely the former since there were helicopters around at the time. I have a hunch most triangle shaped UFOs are secret military aircraft.

Good point. I've often wonder if any of our technology is reverse engineered from recovered alien technology, and if so, how much.

I've read The Day After Roswell and heard all the arguments for and against its validity, and I'm still conflicted on that one. Guess the only way we're going to find out is when they decide to tell us.

They escort the UFO/triangle back to base operations.
