Swine flu could strike up to 40 percent of US population within 24 months

U.S. health officials say swine flu could strike up to 40 percent of Americans over the next two years and as many as several hundred thousand could die if a vaccine campaign and other measures aren't successful.

Those estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mean about twice the number of people who usually get sick in a normal flu season would be struck by swine flu. Officials said those projections would drop if a new vaccine is ready and widely available, as U.S. officials expect.

The U.S. may have as many as 160 million doses of swine flu vaccine available sometime in October, and U.S. tests of the new vaccine are to start shortly, federal officials said this week.

The infection estimates are based on a flu pandemic from 1957, which killed nearly 70,000 in the United States but was not as severe as the infamous Spanish flu pandemic of 1918-19. But influenza is notoriously hard to predict. The number of deaths and illnesses would drop if the pandemic peters out or if efforts to slow its spread are successful, said CDC spokesman Tom Skinner.

A CDC official said the agency came up with the estimate last month, but it was first disclosed in an interview with The Associated Press.

"Hopefully, mitigation efforts will have a big impact on future cases," Skinner said.

In a normal flu season, about 36,000 people die from flu and its complications, according to American Medical Association estimates. Because so many more people are expected to catch the new flu, the number of deaths over two years could range from 90,000 to several hundred thousand, the CDC calculated. Again, that is if a new vaccine and other efforts fail.

Considering that many hurricane Katrina victims are still not being helped, how can they expect us to believe that they have our best interests in mind?

Hmmm....

Estimated US population as of Jan 2009:

305,000,000

40% of 305,000,000 = 122,000,000

current mortality rate = 0.65%, as of last friday

www.cdc.gov...

0.65% of 122,000,000 = 793,000 dead

Tracking mortality trend lines here:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

As of today:

Overall US mortality rate: 0.68%, 302 of 43,771

www.cdc.gov...

0.68% of 122,000,000 = 829,600 dead

Swine Flu Vaccine

The government knows what this vaccine will do to people.

A study linking squalene, as experimental vaccine adjuvant, to individuals with the clinical signs of Gulf War syndrome was published in 2002. The published findings strongly suggest that the squalene contaminated vaccines could be responsible for the Gulf War Syndrome symptoms seen in the study group, and recommended that a large scale epidemiological study be performed to verify or correct this.[4] Despite repeated assurances that the vaccine was safe and necessary, a U.S. Federal Judge ruled that there was good cause to believe it was harmful, and he ordered the Pentagon to stop administering it in October 2004.[5]

The U.S. government has bought 195 million doses of H1N1 swine flu vaccine for a possible autumn vaccination campaign, a U.S. federal official said Thursday.

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department has also contracted for 120 million doses of adjuvant, a compound to stretch the number of doses of vaccine needed, the department's Dr. Robin Robinson told a meeting of Food and Drug Administration advisers.

Don't be fooled, if a U.S Judge says this is dangerous and won't allow it to be given to soldiers, IMO don't take it.

I have three things to say:
1) Who do they get to do their math
2) this is just fear-mongering
3) and this is a big pile of disinfo
the world health org. is just beating a dead horse, there is no flu scare. They made a mistake and don't want to admit it, so they keep spreading this crap around.

Where is your evidence? Its only fear mongering if you allow it to scare you. Whats worse, them telling you the possible outcome or not saying a thing.

In this clip there are described 'steps' you realy should follow ..

Alex Jones of, prisonplanet.com and infowars.com, interviews Dr. Rima Laibow and her husband, Major General Stubblebine. Dr Laibow talks about the dangers of vaccinations and the ulterior motives behind the, "Swine Flu Pandemic". This is a MUST SEE interview. www.911oz.com...

fear.

plain and simple that is what this is about.

yes we have had flu pandemics in the past but thing shave changed dramatically in our understanding of these viruses and how to avoid spreading them since that time (think hygiene).

sure, people will get this flu, maybe it will be the #1 strain this flu cycle, but the government / media blow this crap up. actually i would say mostly the media.

it is all about hype and has little to do with reality.

cdc is looking to understand 'worst case scenarios' and not typical realities.

sure h1n1 COULD infect 40% of the us population. anyone want to make bets on how likely this actually is?

I'll take that bet. Care to double if it goes over 50%?

The new flu isn't hype. If anything, the media and government are downplaying it.

Yes, we've made a lot of progress, but we have no cure for the flu yet. We can only treat its aftermath. This particular flu is extremely easy to transmit, far easier than what we are used to. It is also deadlier: go look at the mortality rates in South America: over 4% for the region. Even discounting the mortality rate for the number of infected who are not reported by, say 75%, you are left with a death rate ten times normal. That's not hype, and no joke.

Laugh at it at your own risk: this isn't man-made, it's not a false flag, it's just Momma Nature doing what she does. Every now and then a new bug emerges that is devastating to humans. This is one of them.

Because the expectation of infection is so high and so strongly stated, it's obvious the US will impose measures to protect itself- not us- but the US.

CDC falls under HHS- which is a Cabinet position under the President.

They are authorized to do nearly anything and everything.

I started this thread about a week ago- please read and share and protect yourselves:

Our own Army is deployed HERE to enforce order during a "WMD-like event" in the "homeland". Obviously, there is the expectation that many millions will take ill or die, and the Army is poised to quarantine, isolate, vaccinate, remove bodies, keep infrastructure, etc.
