"It's probably one of the worst crimes that we've come across in many years in the city of Phoenix," said Phoenix Police's Andy Hill. The boys, ages 9, 10, and 13 are being detained at the Juvenile Corrections Center. The 14-year-old, Steven Tuopeh, has been remanded as an adult.

I really can't express my state of sadness when I hear about stories like this. Even though I dont have any children I think of others that do have kids and how hard news like this hits them in sadness and then anger. Reading the rest of the clip makes one see how much culture plays into the mindset of these parents, in that the victim (daughter) brought them shame because she was raped. These occurrances are not acceptable in America and should NOT be tolerated in ANY part of the world. Im past sadness now and well into rage.

Umm this is one of the most messed up things I've read recently. So sad. I have a young daughter and if this happened to her I dont even know what I'd feel. This is horrible. Kids raping kids, wow.

Wait, wait so the victims family says that she brought them shame for getting raped? Am I reading this right? What the hell knd of parents are these?

Not sure what to say, other than I'm glad we live in a society where this sort of thing isn't tolerated.

My only suggestion is to move all the non-violent drug offenders out of jail, to make room for more of these scum bags.

And yea, I know, they're young. But so what? I expect them to be in jail until they're at least 21, and forced into getting and education so if/when they get out, they're able to do something besides repeat offend!

I agree with you in theory... they are the scum of this planet. But what happens when someone is wrongfully accused? What if she cheated with you and needed an explanation for her boyfriend?
One of my friends' brother-in-law had this happen recently. He slept with his roommates friend, who was visiting, and she had a boyfriend. Well the boyfriend found out and she did not want a break-up... so they called the cops as a rape.
Anyway the roommate was there when it happened and testified it was consent luckily...

As for televising it? Then people will become (even more!) desensitised! You have a problem oversexualising kids with porn, but not violence..?

Interesting that the father denies saying that the daughter brought shame on the family by being raped. I saw no evidence that the family was Islamic, the only culture I know of that would find shame in the victim. Is it possible that the police are engaging in anti-Islamic propaganda?

The other thing that occurs to me is that the age of the alleged rapists are pre-pubescent. I suppose the 14 year old could be an early bloomer, but all the others are still of an age that should find girls ‘icky’. There is no reason that children of that age should be thinking of sex at all, and the only explanation is that they have been exposed to pornography, sexual situations or behaviors at way too early an age. This is the harvest of the hypersexualization of our culture.

When i was 9 10 11 sex was not on my mind at all! we were still like eww with girls. Peuberty hit me at 12...so im guessing one or both of he 13/14 year olds was going through peubrty saw some gang bang porno, and acted out on it, pulling the yuonger boys in it. either way its sick in the head! Hell when i was 12/13 even i knew, insticivly, doing soemthing agianst someones will was wrong!!

Astounding. I don't even have kids but my initial reaction was to give these kids a wallop, yet this father doesn't see the need for punishment and blames his daughter. What a sad story.

Truly terrible, makes me happy that in this neck of the woods something like this is unacceptable.

I cant believe they feel it was the victims fault, even a dishonor.

I agree, kids are becoming more and more exposed to sexual themes earlier and earlier.

Oh boy........I guess it is going to take some much stricter punishments on these type of animal-like crimes to prove to these IDIOTS and RETARDS that we are an ADVANCED SPECIES. Unfortunately some just want to act like animals. So treat them as such---Lock them in cages for about 50 years.

Although in saying that I do want to say that there should be a large scale informative campaign put forth to try and 'educate' these "children" on things of this nature being BAD. LOL, I mean really how stupid can some people be?

This is easy to solve.

Kill the rapist.

Simple, don't care how old their, if they wise enough to rape someone, they wise enough to know the punishment.

Set a example, let everyone know if you rape, you will die.

It would even get great ratings to might blow american idol out of the water.

It's bad enough that an 8 YEAR OLD got raped, but her father blames her for it? She was 8!

People like this make me sick. I don't care what religion/nationality you come from. If you blame your child for getting raped, and don't seek justice for her... just absolutely sickening.

Here's hoping that little girl goes to a loving family that actually deserves her. People like this should honestly be sterilized.

Killing is wrong, mmkay.

What if you kill someone who is innocent? That makes you (on behalf of the government) a murder, in which case the punishment is death.

Kind of a vicious circle, if you ask me.

Jail time and rehabilitation is enough -- assuming they can be rehabilitated. Some people can't.

Raping is wrong.

Killing is okay.

If the kid goes to prison, he's as good as dead anyways.

Make sure that the kid is 100% responsible, or kids, what am I doing, their not kids, their rapists.

Okay make sure the rapists did do it, dna testing and what not should be available.

Prove it, and you can either :

A) Put the rapist in prison, and watch him get beat to death.
B) Put the rapist in a certain Texas town, and watch him be beat to death.
C) Put him down VIA IV (which seems to grateful).
D) Electricute him to death.

If anyone thinks it's okay, to fullfill their sexual fantasies, and release their semen on a underage girl, or any girl at all. While the girl struggles to get out of the living cell of hell which is the shed, while 4 boys release their sick lusts and desires on her against her will.

That I'd imagine would be worse then hell itself.

To let them live, would be showing forgiveness for a person who obviously does not deserve it.

Her mother, and sister both denounced her as a liar.

The father proclaimed that he is not sure, and he just wants her back home.

So it wasn't necessarily the whole family.

Love her older sisters mentality, she's to young to know how to be raped.

I'd hate to say it since I love steak, chicken, and pork but I believe the levels of hormones in the foods the kids eat also plays a role in their early interest in sex.
