Debunked: Moon Landing Hoax

For a very long time I was a staunch supporter of the moon landing hoax conspiracy. It is true that there are many coincidences and facts which can lead anyone to believe it was indeed faked. But there is one aspect that really kills the argument:

What about the soviets?
During the cold war and race to the Moon, they would have LOVED to show the world that it was or (could have been) a hoax. Why didnt they?
Simply because they had the technology (telescopes, radars, sats...) to monitor the launch, landing and trip back.
Not to mention they could easily analyze the radio communications which origins and distances are highly traceable.
Not only that but the laser reflectors left on the Moon by Apollo crew are so precise that only a man can place them precisely.
And moreover Soviet satellites were monitoring places like area 51 where the hoax was supposedly taking place.

Had there been any doubts on the veracity of this achievements, the Soviets would have known.

And recently, the Russian news and cosmonauts once more claimed that Moon hoax conspiracists are weirdos
I will quote 2 Russia Today articles:

But the Apollo 11 mission won the race, landing on the Moon in July, 1969. With America's success and the death of Sergey Korolev, “the father of the Soviet space program”, the Soviet’s lunar dream was literally buried. Over the years there have been many conspiracy theories surrounding the moon U.S. landing. But they shouldn't be taken seriously, according to cosmonaut Aleksey Leonov, the first man ever to perform a space walk. “Our team was watching closely how Americans were landing on the moon. So I swear, it's not fake. And we all were keeping our fingers crossed watching American astronauts because we wanted them to succeed,” Aleksey Leonov told RT.

The rumor started when Stanley Kubrik's wife commented on her husband's work. She said that it was very difficult to make the film about Americans landing on the moon. Well, it is understandable. There are two ships left on Earth. One is at the Smithsonian museum. It is not allowed to even take pictures there, because the displays there are extremely valuable. And the second ship, the exact copy, is in Hollywood. So he did some of the shots there, things like landing, opening of the hatch. Because otherwise viewers would not get the whole picture. So that's how the rumor about the landing on the moon footage being fake started. Two people even went to prison for bearing false witness. When it got to our journalists, they began to spread all kinds of nonsense. There were two idiots showing pictures of the Earth taken from the moon. They said they were optics specialists, and apparently it was impossible to take such a detailed picture of the globe with all the continents and even rivers. The funny thing is we ourselves took this picture from our unmanned craft, using the camera made by one of Moscow's optical labs. We did this! How dare they say things like that! And we had two unmanned vehicles for nine months there. It is such ignorance to say that Americans were never there, but we controlled our vehicles from the Earth. It is simply impolite. But it is even more impolite that only two countries did not watch the mission – China and the Soviet Union, both Communist countries. It is just idiotic nonsense; they robbed their own people off this experience. It is like if we didn't show it, that means it never happened. Like a cat that sneaks in somewhere with closed eyes, thinking it is invisible. It was wrong for such a great country to do something like this.

So with this in mind I really do feel sorry for doubting the amazing achievement this mission was and finally give my outmost respect for the men that went there for Humanity.

For a long time I too beleived that the moon landing was yet another lie fed to us by the goverment, but lately it would seem that they may of actually done somethng right, assuming of coarse that they were not working with the Russians.

Glad to see at least ONE person come around.

The problem, ever since this "hoax" nonsense first cropped up, is really that the "hoax" proponents -- well, 'cropped' everything they showed in order to make their "case". They selectively edited, made wild unfounded allegations and inferences, really dishonest tactics meant to imply, rather than to inform.

At first, it was just to sell books. THEN, videos. Then, along came DVDs, and the ability to produce them cheaply, and the Intenet in order to mass market and sell more easily. It was a gravy train of income for the hucksters, nothing more.

AND, it's all about to come to a screeching halt, finally.

Ya a funny way, I almost wish the USSR had been able to compete more closely, with the manned missions. They had everything EXCEPT a viable lift capability...their extremely over-complex Proton launch vehicle kept blowing up. It would have been far more interesting if the USSR had ALSO a few weeks after Apollo 11. Maybe we'd actually have a permanent base on the Moon by now, as was envisioned.

I would like the guy who proved to my satisfaction that the photos were fake...

(raising eyebrows???)

His name is Jay Weidner.

Oh. The same Weidner who writes about crop circles, 2012, alchemy...and Tolkein?? AND other baloney? THAT Jay Weidner??

Like I said above, IF you were convinced that photos were "faked", then it was because you weren't shown all of them, along with the corresponding videos. You see, when you look at everything, the "hoax" falls apart.

"They" are one and the same. You believe "them" to be enemies. "They" are not enemies. "They" work together to achieve a common goal. Whether or not you believe that the "moon landing" happened is irrelevant. All that is important is that the "event" occurred. Now go on with your endless debates as to the veracity of the following... 911, moon landing, who shot JFK... MLK... RFK... etc... etc... etc. Mission accomplished..... "they" have accomplished their goal.
