If the Democrats think this chart is inaccurate then I suggest they come up with one that is more accurate and that both sides must agree on a realistic flow chart and show it to the public before the vote.

How many people will that 1 trillion plus really insure? The Dems say 97% but I would expect them to lie because it is their bill.

Ah jam321, this is where you are wrong. This isn't the Dems bill. This is the lobbyist's bill.

Most of them (congressmen) don't know what's in the damn thing and neither do most citizens. They should make a cable channel that just aired page after page of the bill.

Better yet...why don't they make them VOTE on each page?

Corporatism....gotta love it. Dems are not different than Republicans...and if a crap bill is passed...they will blame Reps.

Same old S.....yet how everyone loves to keep playing a game for their side...although it's a game they will never win.

David,

Thank you for pointing that out. Now I am even more than convinced that the 97% is a made up mythical number.

No problem man! For whatever reason...during the 1000 page bailout bill, stimulus package...and the new cap and trade bill....I just didn't realize it.

No politicians wrote these...they were written by lobbyist. Government is so broken. The only way a new health care plan will pass is if it benefits someone else...and by that I mean NOT US.

It sucks man. Basically what you have is corporate takeover of our government. Democracy works great for corporations and bankers....just not for everyone else.

Even those who thought Obama was against big business are completely wrong...as he's far from it...if anything...he's worse than Bush...far worse.

Goldman Sach's gave millions to his campaign along with other banks....GS would love to see cap and trade go through...as well as General Electric...and you know all about how Obama is in cahoots with them.

Crazy isn't it? Yet Democrats ignore it.

All the BS they claimed against Fox News and Bush...which was in the most part justified in many regards....well.....it's not different on the other side.

Corporatism....all media, all lobbyists...

I really think Conservatives need to get off the Progressive kick as well for all the blame in the country...just as Liberals need to stop blaming conservatives for the same thing.

Socialism, Capitalism.....it's corporatism in reality...just slightly different forms of it.

Fortunately the vote has been delayed according to Reid. And people actually spend $2.4 Triillion every year, so how is Obama gonna do it for only $1 Trillion?

OH, my friend the 1 trillion was only 600 billions, but what Obama is not telling that the bill will cost up to 4 trillion and growing in ten years as our government doesn't know how to budget.

I found the real scoop in this site,

Report: Kennedy Bill Would Actually Cost $4 Trillion

Health Systems Innovations Network, a consulting group, went ahead and estimated the full cost of a bill that included the subsidies and Medicaid expansion, and reduced the number of uninsured by 99 percent. With these assumptions, they estimated (pdf) the cost at a staggering $4 trillion over 10 years, resulting in the shift of 79 million Americans to government-run health care. The report does not include possible tax increases or spending offsets, but notes that, "this would be a challenging proposal to finance with budget neutrality."

Okee Dokeee. Want some hard data, on topic?

It seems that Kevin Brady (whose name is the source of chart) knows something about pork. He has over $6 million of solo 'earmarks' himself amidst other legislation. I'd say he knows how to play this game better than most of us do and this is yet ANOTHER case of pot calling kettle black.

www.legistorm.com...

Not to mention the chart is purposely misleading to appear overly complicated by design. I could mimic one equally confusing on how to stike a match.

Have fun with your Obama Bash fest.

As Sheryl Crow might croon, " If it makes you happy, then why are you so sad?"

Earmarks are bad!!! Oh noes!! It's the only way we get any transparency on anything that goes through Congress....if not...the money is spent by the Executive Branch with ZERO transparency. The money is already appropriated..it gets spent REGARDLESS. Someone can strike it from the bill...but the money will STILL BE SPENT.

I suppose you'd rather have a bridge built in Iraq than the money being spent here?

You don't even know how earmarks work obviously...why don't you read up on it before you comment further.

Earmarks are the only time a Congressman actually puts something in themselves....everything else they don't read.

An earmark is an item that is inserted into a bill to direct funds to a specific project or recipient without any public hearing or review. One of the problems is that there is no transparency or accountability in the system.

U.S. Congressional members can secure hundreds of millions of dollars of funding for a project without subjecting it to debate by their colleagues in the Congress, or to the scrutiny and oversight of the public. Because earmarks are hard to identify, some members use them to secretly award their biggest campaign contributors or exchange them for bribes. The secrecy of the earmarking process invites unethical and corrupt behavior, where lobbyists and contractors and well-connected individuals give campaign contributions to legislators in return for federal funding.

Again, you provide nothing of substance in a lame attempt to derail the thread. Your M.O. is becoming quite obvious.

How utterly hilarious to be reprimanded on forum etiquette by a poster with a Warn tag.

Further, their casting dispersion while not contributing themselves.

ATS, meet Barney Fife. This place is just too ironic sometimes.

On Topic:

The "flow chart" is nothing more than a prop meant to discredit, smear and delay.

It is offered by a member of the Republican party who although not in power, equally culpable of the bureaucratic boondoggle that has historically choked the Democratic system through lies and deceit.

I'm sure Obama and his minions are happy that they can count on you to be out here defending anything and everything they do, no matter if it is even defensible.

The thing you are missing is that even if that chart is exaggerated to the point where it was only 25% accurate, in the minds of anyone that has ever had to deal with a government agency on anything, it still accurately portrays their experiences. So, who can blame people for fearing that government run health care would be the same or worse - except that it would hold their health and maybe lives in the balance instead of a license renewal.

And what I just wrote is the reason the democrats fear this chart as much as they do. They realize that it will strike a chord with many citizens, even many of their supporters.

What you have to worry about is that this bill as soon it becomes another burden to the government because it will . . . with all the subtitles and amendments added to the 1000 pages bill bury in it is the option to become and entitlement programs meaning that the government will just add the tab on the same line they have for SS and Medicare and Medicaid, you wanted or not or you having their government insurance or other option, remember if you work you pay for Medicare and Medicaid if you used it or not.

That is what entitlement programs are, a drain in the tax payer accounts and the biggest blunder and hoax the government has devised to gouge the tax payer and guess what the reason our health care in the nation is up 19% right now of the GDP is the government spending like a drunken sailor.

Health care in the US didn't not fail the nation the government failed the health care system.

Whoa, Back the truck up. I stopped reading right there.

What I worry about is people telling me what to worry about.

Lest you care, I currently have Health Insurance (reputable company) and the premiums (for two) are about $550.00 per month (with high deductible) due to 'pre-existing' conditions. My prescriptions average about $270.00 per month. (Plavix alone is $146.00 per month)

IMO, ANYTHING would be better than what I have presently as long as the 'care' is comparable. I just made an appointment with my Doc. Next avail. is end of Nov.

On Topic: I believe the Flow Chart is purposefully misleading with bogus categories and terminology. It is a Rudderless Republican ruse.

Regards...KK

Thank you.

I have insurance also, dental, eye you name it, two surgeries costing over 100 thousand dollars in three years, I didn't have to wait for any of them more than a month because of tests and my cost was just the food I ate during my state in the hospital.

I get appointments with my doctor on the same day if I wanted and my medication deduction is 3 dollars for generic and 9 dollars for none generic.

I can change doctors at will if I am not satisfied with their treatments have done it many times.

I pay quarterly 115 dollars I love my insurance and I can not complain in the 11 years that I had been in it.

Why change something that has been good for me, because the governmetn wants to gouge to experiment on something that it has no idea how to control.

Is a fiasco in the making.
