Notice how he doesn't qualify his remarks, he doesn't say, "something that looks like" or "a natural formation that looks like" or "we think there is....".............seems absolutely certain.

So, is SETI just a psy-op or what?

He said "the universe put it there. If you choose, God put it there."

What he is saying is that it is an interesting structure, and it is an example of why humans should explore. He didn't say it was artificial -- in fact, he insinuated it was a natural structure that was put there by "the universe" or by "God".

If he wanted to insinuate that it was an artificial, he wouldn't have said it was put there by the universe or by God.

Really? You speak for Buzz? Usually when people use the word "monolith" it does not refer to a natural stone formation, though it can, here is the Merriam Webster definition:

a very large stone that is usually tall and narrow; especially : a stone that was put in position by people as a monument or for religious reasons

See the word "especially"?

Why would he get excited if he thought the stone was natural? There are interesting natural rocks all over the solar system.

He also says, if the knowledge of this monolith were more widespread on earth, people here would ask: "Who put it there?" - people don't ask questions like that about natural stone formations. Please try to use some logic.

Its been 5 years, Ask Buzz to clarify and quit all the speculation.

Yeah -- I see the word "especially". However, a monolithic structure is not always artificial. For example, geologists use the term "monolithic structure" to describe certain natural formations, such as the devil's tower in Wyoming, Uluru (Ayers Rock) in Australia, The Rock of Gibraltar, Zuma Rock in Nigeria, etc.

It should be noted that Aldrin was given training in geology as part of his Apollo training. Much of the science done on the moon was geological in nature, so part of Buzz's training was to think like a geologist.

Because in the past few decades, Aldrin has been on a personal quest to get humans exploring space again; he is a champion for the idea of human exploration using actual humans. He is trying to drum up interest, so he is simply pointing out interesting things, such as this seemingly monolithic structure.

Correct. Humans are naturally curious, so it would not be surprising for them to ask "who put it there". Buzz -- who is always the "showman" asked the question in a showman-like manner. However, he attempts to answer that question by saying "Well, the universe put it there". He then went on to add that if there were some people so inclined to believe in God, then "God put it there".

In both cases (whether it be the universe or God), his insinuation seems to be that it is was put there by nature -- the "nature" of the universe or the nature that God uses to do things.

I cant believe im going to say this but, there is a video from Alex Jones that proves ITS A ROCK.
Color me surprised.

Too bad the Russian Phobos - GRUNT mission failed. It would have been an excellent opportunity to get better pictures of this strange geological structure.

I am going to ask you all a question. Answer honestly.

If you were an astronaut and you found evidence that would only indicate the fact that it was created by an intelligent species whether it be humams or aliens could you seriously keep it to yourself? ???

I think he's full of crap and if he has kept it to himself all this time he should never have had the position in the first place.
