Phoebe Putney in GA, is a none profit hospital and you can search for their services any time.

None profit means that they do not have to answer to stock holders and meet profits death lines.

Is hospital out there that are none profits and actually our local hospital gives to the community millions of dollars back on free services every year.

I had dual citzenship until I was 18. Then I joined the USAF and became an American.

You still haven't explained how this program is going to be so much better than the one we have now.

Defend how I get penalized if I don't go with the government plan by 2 to 8 % of my income. (ps, it's in the plan, read it. . .)

Insurance companies may decide not to PAY for some services, but they won't deny those services to you.
The government plan will.

Instead of just regurgitating Obama rhetoric, defend the actual plan, if you think it's so great!

we don't have an insurance program right now. its just a business. a corrupt business.

and 2-8% of your income goes to worst things. that is my defense for the bill. its not perfect, but its not some kind of demon the way it is made out to be.

insurance companies will not PAY for ANY of my services. they DENY me services. they will not ACCEPT MY MONEY. the government plan will gladly accept my pot smoking lazy hippie ass.

If you are working and have an employer you may qualify for the government hand me down that they are proposing, but remember only if you are in certain income bracket (that the government has not even specified yet) you may get and incentive or your employer will be forced to offer, still you have to pay for it.

If you don't have a job you still will not have any coverage under the Obama bill because that part of the bill is not even considered yet.

I must interject on this because as I read through comments once against I think i am going to be physically sick.

Socialist liberals need to take a few business course and entrepreneurial courses. The fact that anyone would vote for this is disturbing. This is not healthcare reform this tyranny/eugenics wrapped up in a controversial issue. I have no insurance, I can not afford the $330 a month to provide myself with medical, dental and vision insurance but I would never support a plan like this. My mother got breast cancer, she was fully insured and the insurance company dropped her because they said 'she knew she had cancer' and i still would not vote for this bill. My parents put themselves $80 grand in debt to pay for the operation and treatment for my mom, what did they do? Set up a payment plan with the hospital like any respectable stand up citizen would do while they pursued other legal action. No legal action was taken because we could not afford a lawyer but 5 years later the hospital reviewed the case and wipped the debt clean because they felt the insurance company was being neglectful and unfair and I still would not support this CRAP. This bill does not address any root problems in the healthcare industry which are lawsuits, costs and insurance companies dropping patients because they do not want to pay for a procedure.

This article has also left out the fact that if you do not not buy government insurance you will be fined $2500.

Obama supporter have become completely delusional from their lack of education, research and knowledge on these critical policies not to mention the welfare scum and others who are afraid to lose their government assistance. The blatant fact is Obama supporters can not read at higher the a 6 grade level. 90% attack your character instead of debating the facts and researching the issues.

I am with some of the others, GET OUT THERE AND GET A JOB YOU SOCIALIST SCUM BAGS. Get some work ethic going, build on your income so you can afford insurance but by no means do not support something you didnt read, understand or enslaves us all to government beauracy.

This sums it up for me right here.

yes the heritage foundation is a conservative website but the message and response is still the same.

During the call, a blogger from Maine said he kept running into an Investors Business Daily article that claimed Section 102 of the House health legislation would outlaw private insurance. He asked: “Is this true? Will people be able to keep their insurance and will insurers be able to write new policies even though H.R. 3200 is passed?” President Obama replied: “You know, I have to say that I am not familiar with the provision you are talking about.” (quote begins at 17:10)
----

Did someone actually try to make the case that the government provides its citizens with meaningful services such as roads, postal service, welfare and schools?

The roads suck, check out I-80 in california
Cities have started to build toll roads with tax payer money used to fund roads
Postal service is a private corp that has not turned a profit in over 50 years
welfare encourages people to do nothing
the public school system is an indoctrination into lies not to mention a graduation rate of 50% or lower.
-----

I know this is a babbling rant but some people in this country make me sick. Ooo, and who i am? I not some rich kid, i am joe average, i don't have hand outs but I am a damn hard worker, I am an entrepreneur and I am an American and I work for everything I have. I will strive to make my own life better not have the government do it for me. That is what you should be doing also.

wait, so are you defending me or going against my view.... i can't tell anymore lol

all i know is i work, and not one insurance company will accept me because of a previous hospitalization simply for the fact that they are a business that doens't WANT to help me

and if not having a job = no insurance under new obama plan... why are people making stupid arguments saying that the lazy unemployed don't deserve handouts?

Actually, you can buy healthcare coverage if you've been hospitalized before. Generally speaking, the previous illness would be subject to exclusion and termed a pre-existing condition but you'd be otherwise covered. My suggestion to anyone who asks* is this: do not have a lapse in coverage. It costs very little to purchase an individual medical plan- I covered my family of 4 (two of us smoke) for < $300 monthly after I left my job which had medical available for ~ the same pretax dollars to pursue a more rewarding life/career. If there is no lapse in coverage, there is no pre-existing condition.

That said, the current model for healthcare in this country is wrong and it will be rendered worse if this bill passes. Be responsible for your own health- work out, eat well, partake in vices moderately, etc.- and you'll find that you rarely need a doctor to treat the symptoms of illness.

*I worked in the medical/insurance field and hubby is a medical doc. I'm asked these questions more than you'd think.

The problem is that the very poor or unemployed will be getting nothing I guess you have not read my post very well.

Is not provision in the bill that includes how to deal with people that are very poor and no working.

Sorry but for those that work I want to call the government health insurance a hand out because that is what is going to become third class care because is at low rates so low rate care.

I guess for some body that doesn't' have health care that will be enough.

BTW estimates said that 60% of the US population have health care, 40% percent doesn't.

That is why Obama bill wants to target the part of the population that already have health care because they are paying for it, that money is what Obama wants to be able to afford his bill.

Don't let the bill cloud your understanding of what is been done to the nation right now.

You may be able to afford health care depending of how the bill is going to work, but will you be happy with it? when is going to cost more than yo think?.

Thanks for posting this - I was hoping someone would. Mark Levine read these off on his show last night and I was hoping that everyone will listen. This is the ULTIMATE in government sticking itself firmly in your business and your life. Don't you guys get it? The majority of you want the government to butt out. But I cannot fathom any of you who would support this bill which would trample all over your privacy. Examples:

Pg 58HC Bill - Govt will have access to individuals finances & a National ID health card will be issued

There's your national ID card. We have threads on this subject from concerned ATSers:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 The government will have direct access to your bank account for electronic funds transfer

And guess what else? If the IRS deems that you owe tax money - transferred. Time to pay for your new drivers license - Transferred. You owe the government any fees at all - transferred. No money left in the bank to eat on? Not the government's problem. Maybe you should consider food stamps.

And... what if they make a mistake? Read this:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

pg 127 Lines 1-16 HC Bill - Doctors/ #AMA - The Govt will tell YOU what you can make

This sets the stage for a mass exodus of skilled health care professionals. Possibly some will work in "cash only" clinics but others will most likely just leave until the system is changed. If you think the wait in an ER is bad now, wait until the poor are told that they can see a doctor for a moderate injury in 4-6 months!

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Also this is an interesting poll:

www.gallup.com...

If a vast majority trust physicians more on healthcare than politicians and you take the physicians out of the equation, what's left?

Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill - Health care will be rationed

That means what you have access to now - you won't anymore. Need enough anti-depressants to get you through the month? What if the government says you get a week's worth? In pain after that operation? You get two Vicodin and that's it.

The point is that someone sitting behind a desk in Washington DC, totally disconnected from your situation, gets to make that decision about you.

pg 124 lines 24-25 HC No company can sue the government for price fixing. No "judicial review" against government monopoly.

Anytime someone introduces a law that says "you're not allowed to sue us" you should be afraid, because it basically says "we're above the law and what we say goes".

So government can force all private insurance companies and even pharmaceuticals they deem "too expensive" out of business. Those companies cannot sue the government on claims of anti-trust or unfair business practices.

Basically, what this line says is the government doesn't want the private sector competiting with it and will make sure that they can't, one way or the other.

You guys should read the rest and really think about this monstrosity and how it will affect this country. It's not going to be pretty - it's going to be a huge financial disaster that will be the end of this country.
