No, my friend, you don't. I'm 46. I'll be joining you soon in the ranks.

I'm a vet with a bad knee. Broke it while TDY at Nellis AFB years ago jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.

That aside, people like us don't fit in the scheme of things. We are past prime productivity age, we would only be a "drain" on this "Brave New System"

Start networking now. Get to know people that can help you. It's people like us, normally law-abiding people that are going to be using the new black-market system.

A perfect example of how pathetic government's are. "YES WE CAN!" Did anyone ever think to ask what "we" are; or WHAT "we" are for that matter? Here is how it will be...If the people of this entire system...ESPECIALLY RELIGIOUS INDOCTINATION SYSTEMS of the above, do not turn away, then "walk silently into that good night". All governments are a deception as well as the economic values they instill. They are the dealers of the lie as it is being proven all over the world.

"I am MUSLIM... HEAR ME!!!"... "I AM A JEW...HEAR ME !!!"," I AM CHRISTAIN...HEAR ME!!!" The fact is; they are all slaves to the same master. The question is this...are you a slave or a teacher? A program or a revealer?.... Make your choice.

I think you're refering to a Dylan Thomas poem. . . .

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

. . . . and very appropriate.

The most interesting part of the Obama plan is the "end of life section". Obama's grandma, named "Toot" died suddenly and right after he visited her and just 1 day before the election. Several days before her death she was complaining about being in the hospital recovering from a broken hip and that she was ready to go home and then - boom - gone. Make no mistake, the woman was in poor health, but from what I read, she was not on death's doorstep. I think she may have been "assisted" in the process of exiting this world.
This remains a controversial part of medical care and that's why I'm a great believer in the hospice movement. It is humane and only supplies "palliative" care. Medications like morphine can reduce respiration to the degree that the patient quietly and peacefully slips away.
The last six months of a person's life is the most expensive and I do agree with Obama and others who question how many more expensive tests and fruitless treatments should be spent when, let's say, a person is 89 years old with multiple chronic conditions and little to no quality of life and won't even tolerate surgery well (or be in ICU for 3 weeks afterward). Where does it all end? This will be the greatest of challenge morally and ethically for the baby boomers and their physicians as they reach their 80s, if not sooner.
Obama and his advisers aren't going to stress this portion - I can hear the yelling and screaming about it right now. But people need to be mature, unselfish and objective about their condition. Even the Bible says that we are given "three score and ten" (70 years).

I stopped driving a motor vehicle because I didn't like paying so much of what little I earn to insurance companies for NOTHING!.

Now I will be fined for just being alive without paying insurance companies, next I suppose we will all have to possess a license to be alive....

I don't think many of you have realised the fact that insurance companies are in the business to make profits,ONLY!!!!!.

Wal mart started out claiming to sell american goods at good prices, now one will be lucky to find anything but chinese manufactured goods there, and the quality just keeps getting worse.

Just Business.........

Now the same will happen with health care.

Insurance companies profit from NOT paying out, which amounts to not providing a hopeless cases with health care, which in a convoluted way will amount to euthanasia in the long run......

You stupid #ing americans are about to get what you deserve.

I watched his speech last night for awhile,I got up and left when I heard him say the word 'mandate'......

Bet most of you blind and deaf americans let that slip by you.

Aside from the fact that most of what he spewed was complete nonsense.

No need to understand what they say, they have authority over you!.

Goddamned SHEEP!!!!!.

Get rid of the old, unproductive ones.....

And they "rulers"... won't have to compete with the old, wise, experienced ones to have influence over the young naive, impressionable cannon-fodder.

This is just a distraction,it diverts your attention away from the things that are truly destroying the U.S..

A fiat monetary system, and giant corporations.

I really don't get the point of worrying about saving money on health care, when they just print money from thin air anyway.

We,as americans, really need to stop participating in their game.

Stop buying what they sell, and they will go out of business.

Or just go buy more beer, and flip on the TV.

I can pretty much guess what most people in the U.S. are going to do.

Excellent point!

True. You are being penalized by having to fork over money to the government for being alive. Hmm....I never thought about it like that before.

Now we owe the government and must pay them just for being born in America and for being allowed to live here.

So are you going to be willing for the government to kill you off at 70, in order to be mature, unselfish and objective…and to comply with an ancient man written text?
I find your argument a little strange. First you cite the possibility that Obama’s grandmother may have been unnecessarily (and possibly criminally) assisted to die in a hospital. Then you praise the same process in a hospice.
Why does it matter that the last 6 months of someone’s life are the most expensive? Whose money is it anyway after a lifetime of taxes? What if you never ever had any medical treatment in that lifetime, but at 80 you suddenly need it and are refused as you are deemed too useless and a drain on society? I have never understood the argument that a young person is more worth more than an old person. Based on ridiculous financial terms the elderly are more valuable, have paid more taxes, have put more money into the corrupt system so therefore have more right to medical treatment than anyone younger.
Where do you draw the line? Maybe it should be done on the level of intellect…and the terminally stupid die? Or are the obese, disabled, alcoholic, drug addicts to be painlessly exited?
A life is a life is a life. No government should be saying whose life is more important than any other life. It should be the individual’s choice and decision as to when and how they die, not the governments (who are supposed to be there to serve the people). A society that says the weaker ‘non productive’ members should die is barbaric.
Anyway, that bill says that rationing will occur at any age. That the treatments will be decided on financial terms…so God help you if you get sick or disabled through no fault of your own but mere bad luck…oh, and try not to get old. Although Obama and cronies will have the best of the best for their lifetimes, and once out of office will drain society by having secret service agents protecting them.

obama is a socialist in every sense of the word. giving illegal aliens health care? this guy is a radical nut case. he is not worried about the American people. he wants control over everything and the morons that put him in office are to blame. this country is going down hill faster then expected. this president thinks he can just spend and spend and there will be no reprocusions, well he is WRONG! there is no way we are going to get out of the economic trouble with this guy in office and the dems holding all the power, they just don't have a clue. how could anybody put their trust into a government to control their healthcare? they screw up everything else! what makes people think this time it will be different? do people really want the government to tell them what care they will get when they are on their death beds? that is just nuts!

I knew this thing was going to be a piece of crap. Just one thing:

PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill - HC will be provided 2 ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise

Otherwise? Otherwise would mean legal, as in paying taxes like everyone else? Like me? I'm not for this either, but this whole illegal immigration thing has certainly turned into ALL immigrants hasn't it?

Well alright then...finally, a commentator from the centre, with no axe to grind, and no partisan Bravo Sierra.

Wait, did you say Mark Levin? The Mark Levin? As in...

Levin began his broadcast career as a guest on conservative talk radio programs. For many years he was a frequent contributor of legal opinions to The Rush Limbaugh Show, where Limbaugh referred to him on-air as "F. Lee Levin," a tongue-in-cheek reference to the famous defense attorney F. Lee Bailey. He was also a contributor to The Sean Hannity Show and eventually got a radio slot of his own, on WABC, following Sean Hannity's program. Hannity has nicknamed Mark Levin "The Great One." Levin and Hannity remain frequent contributors to each other's programs, often calling in and facetiously referring to each other as "Doctor Hannity" and "Doctor Levin."

Ok, just another neocon kook shilling for Big Health. Nevermind, folks...nothing to see here...

I'd say that video about sums it up.

Obama is a lost cause, if the media actually did their jobs and asked him tough questions it would be a totally different story.

I hope this bill fails.

I love it how people trying to defend the current health care system always point out that RICH PEOPLE COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TO GET CARE AT AMERICAN HOSPITALS FROM AMERICAN DOCTORS.

When in reality the situation shows just how bad our current health care system is. ONLY RICH PEOPLE CAN GET QUALITY CARE IN AMERICA.

I would be much more impressed with the quality of American health care if people were saying POOR PEOPLE COME FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD TO GET CARE AT AMERICAN HOSPITALS FROM AMERICAN DOCTORS.

While I see your point, you've gotta figure that poor folks are going to the US for treatment...and it's the illegals that have so many folks upset about that very fact.

And don't try pitching the quality of'll get fed that right back to you!

I wander if it will be easier to find a Dr with this government health care. would the government force Drs to take this Health care plan?
Medicaid is a nightmare; it is very hard to find a DR. Many DRs do not want to take medcaid I wonder if this health insurance will the same.
I find it very absurd that it should matter in the first place what health insurance you have. Everyone should be able to get good low cost to free health care at any Dr they chose.

This bill is an utter disgrace to the American people. We get the fines if we don't have coverage, but Illegal immigrants get free health care at the American citizens expense? While there exempt from paying fines if they don't have coverage? Did I just wake up in COMMUNIST CHINA today?

DEMOCRATS want to ration health care for everyone in America -- except those who break our immigration laws.

Last week, the House Ways and Means Committee defeated an amendment that would've prevented illegal aliens from using the so-called "public health-insurance option." Every Democrat on the panel voted against it.

Nevada GOP Rep. Dean Heller's measure would've enforced income, eligibility and immigration-verification screening on all ObamaCare patients. The citizenship-vetting process would not have required building a new bureaucracy, but used existing state and federal databases to root out entitlement fraud.

If the congressional majority is truly committed to President Obama's quest to wring out cost savings, why won't it adopt the same anti-fraud checks imposed on other government health and welfare beneficiaries?

The Democratic leadership denies that an estimated 12 million to 20 million illegal immigrants will get taxpayer-subsidized health-insurance coverage. Senate Finance Committee Chair Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) calls the proposition "too politically explosive."

But Obama lit the fuse in February when he signed the massive expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program. That law loosened eligibility requirements for legal immigrants and their children by watering down document and evidentiary standards -- making it easy for individuals to use fake Social Security cards to apply for benefits with little to no chance of getting caught. It also revoked Medicaid-application time limits that were part of the 1996 welfare-reform law. Immigration activists see the provisions as first steps toward universal coverage for illegals.

"Explosive"? The applause certainly was. Obama's praise of the weakened immigrant-eligibility rules drew the strongest claps and cheers from members of Congress at the S-CHIP signing event.

Immigration analyst James R. Edwards Jr. reported last week in National Review that "no health legislation on the table requires federal, state or local agencies -- or private institutions receiving federal funds -- to check the immigration status of health-program applicants, so some of the money distributed via Medicaid and tax credits inevitably would go to illegal aliens." Moreover, the Senate Finance Committee plan creates a preference for illegal aliens by exempting them from the mandate to buy insurance.

That's right. Law-abiding, uninsured Americans would be fined if they didn't submit to the ObamaCare prescription. Law-breaking border-crossers and deportation fugitives would be spared.

For years, advocates of uncontrolled immigration have argued that illegals aren't getting free health care, and that even if they were, they'd not be draining government budgets. The fiscal crisis in California gives lie to those talking points. In March, the Associated Press reported that Sacramento and Contra Costa counties were slashing staff and closing clinics due to the prohibitive costs of providing non-emergency health services for illegals.

"The general situation there is being faced by nearly every health department across the country, and if not right now, shortly," Robert M. Pestronk of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, told the AP.

The Texas state comptroller put the price tag for illegal-alien hospital care at $1.3 billion in 2006. USA Today reported that from 2001 to 2004, spending for emergency Medicaid for illegals rose by 28 percent in North Carolina alone. Clinics across the Midwest have also been shuttered under the weight of illegal-immigrant care costs.

At a time when Democratic leaders are pushing rationed care in a world of limited resources, Americans might wonder where the call for shared sacrifice is from illegal-immigrant patients like those in Los Angeles getting free liver and kidney transplants at UCLA Medical Center.

"I'm just mad," illegal Jose Lopez told the Los Angeles Times last year after getting two taxpayer-subsidized liver transplants while impatiently awaiting approval for state health insurance.

Now, multiply that sense of entitlement by 12 million to 20 million illegals. Welcome to the open-borders ObamaCare nightmare.

Doesn't the left take that approach with EVERYTHING it does?

They insist on using a race-based system of hiring and admissions, all to pander to a minority of people in the country, and don't care that it foments racial strife, resentment, and constant turmoil.

They think we should upend the long-standing definition of marriage, against the wishes of the vast majority, to mollify a tiny band of malcontents.

Their special interest groups spend more time working on behalf of criminals, terrorists and freaks, at the expense of the majority.

Look at Medicaid. Every state is going bankrupt funding this monstrosity, all to cater to a small band of people whose entire lives are funded by the public. Yet when tiny

Get in line for the koolaid pal. First, no one is denied healthcare in this country. No one. As for other countries? Especially countries with a 46 to 52 percent tax rate, then yup, they still pay for it, but they pay for it in lower levels of care, rationing, denial of services, lower standards of living,. . . we are a representative republic. If we wanted a system like the french, like the canadians, like the dutch, the british, we'd adopt their type of government.

Ironically enough, voting for Obama might get us there, but that is NOT what the majority of us want.

So in other words Obama is rewarding fraud and abuse at the expenses of tax payer, still if illegal immigration is a burden to the present system wait when obamas health care program becomes a reality.

Is our president that stupid I wonder.

Something That Guliani said during the presidential campaign still sticks to me today, he said in between this lines that the presidential offices was not a place to be training on how to be a president in other words that is exactly what Obama is doing today because his lack of sight and experience, this so call health care is going to prove to be a fiasco to all of us tax payers.

Then he dares to lie yesterday that the health care will not be a burden on the deficit, truly from what planet Mr. Obama comes from.

I am starting to feel a littler bit scare about where he is planning to get his 1 trillion dollar to finance this mammoth program.
