Hello I am new here i've been reading the forums for about a year now and decided to join. I also am not here just to ask one thing and leave! I know there are some threads on this topic but I feel that mine is unique. Anyway yesterday at about 1pm I woke to the sound of a helicopter outside of my house. I live in the extreme country far backwoods and dirt roads of my county in Georgia on 10 acres also it's heavily wooded. There was a unmarked black 2 seater heli hovering extremely low probably 10ft above the 60ft trees and when I went outside to have a better look, I noticed 1 person (the pilot) and then it quickly flew away. I went inside kind of nervous and soon as I did another flew in so I went inside and grabbed my binoculars and went back it circled the front of my property all the while in my line of sight and I looked through my bino's and noticed it was unmarked with any letters or numbers that I could tell and there were 2 people a pilot and a passenger with a machine gun. When they noticed that I was looking they flew out of my direct line of sight behind some trees so I went inside after 20 minutes of observing and called my sheriff's dept thinking that they could be looking for drugs or a escaped criminal. I called and found out that they do not even own heli's and that they were unaware of any escaped criminals. They said by my description of they heli's that they were probably govt. So I went back out and they were so low it looked like they were going to land in my yard so I looked through my bino's again and for 5 minutes straight they hovered just looking at me . They then preceded to fly to 2 different spots on my property and hover for another hour there and above my front yard. Then they flew off like they were never there. I called again to my sheriff's dept. and they said they would send a car out if they came back but if it was the govt. we would probably never know why they were there in the first place. I already knew that. Any opinions?

Probably looking to see if there is any suspicious drug activity on your property in my opinion.

I'm not an expert on this subject. However I would suspect they were either out on a training mission or just hovering looking for something or checking their instruments.

I once had an apache helicopter follow me for several miles. I remember that day because I was thinking the helicopter would disappear but then I kept seeing it again. Then I drove into a small town. I got stopped at a red light. You would think that would be the end of it. However this helicopter pilot seemed to want to let me know that he was following me. He actually flew down over the intersection and hovered there for a little bit. Then he finally flew away. Someone suggested they may have been using my car to test their targeting systems. That didn't really make me feel any better. Either that or the guy remembered seeing me at one of the local bars and thought that would be funny to follow me and target me.

The only other unusual helicopter activity I've seen were about 4 or 5 helicopters escorting a "cloud" just above the tree tops. They were moving fast enough that I had trouble escaping the rain that was falling from this cloud I saw. I never saw a cloud being escorted by helicopters before especially just a short distance from the tree tops. This was extremely unusual. I just happened to see it because I was outside when they flew directly overhead.

Interesting to stay the least. We recently had something strange happen here, we have a park behind our apartment (we're at the back corner of the property) and as my daughter and i were watching Noggin about 10am I heard two very deep helicopter rotors go over the house close enough it actually vibrated the walls and windows. Look outside and there is a FULLY armed, missles slung Apache longbow hovering not 70 yards from my patio and ANOTHER one sitting in the park across the street.

Hovering one moved off to the northeast, The one that was sitting in the park sat there for around five minutes took off, hovered for a moment, did a 180 and headed to the north. One of the more impressive things i've seen in a long time, they were close enough to see the pilot and gunner and see the 30mm swivel as they looked around. BUT i don't know of any special event they might have been involved in, no bigwigs in town, and i have NO clue why he'd have sat down in the park for any reason in the middle of a sunny Texas spring.

It was most likely military just getting their hours in doing manuevers. I worked at an airport in GA and they land every so often for us to fuel them.

If you can describe it a little better I could tell you if that was what you saw. A two seater with 3 people in it with a machine gun doesn't make much sense.
