France's demoralised Socialists have been plunged into deeper gloom after one of the Left's most emblematic supporters called for the party to be disbanded. Asked by the newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche if he thought the Socialist Party, or PS, was dying, Mr Lévy answered: "No – it is already dead.

I read a great deal of philosophy and have read some of Mr. Levy's works. This is a bombshell to socialism worldwide. Once more, Marxist-Leninism and it's more benign offshoots show the massive gaping holes in their dogma. And here we are neck deep in Obama socialism and like every 'power to the people' cult it will fail as well.

It's dieing all across the globe, but people over here want to move to it. Doesn't make any sense.

I guess we will have to learn the hard way.

I have friends in Sweden who tell me they are laughing at us. They think it is hilarious that we are so far behind the curve. "Single payer health care," they often exclaim---right before they bust up laughing.

One of those same Swedes flew to South Africa for ankle surgery after waiting for 3 months in Vasby! She broke an ankle running during an orienteering competition!

She saw her family physician the week following the fracture then five weeks to see ortho who told her she needed surgery, but it would be a month. Three months later, she went to SA.

It's funny, because the people over here always point to the European countries and say, "look at them they can do it why can't we." It really sounds like a kids that want to do something because all their friends are doing it.

From what I understand most of Europe are trying to break the death grip of socialism as we speak. Sure a few of them like the way it is now, but the majority doesn't like it.

It just plain doesn't work, it really isn't that hard to understand. Oh well I guess the people will keep pushing till the people push back.

Damn that is sad, Sweden which is one of the most efficient models of a single payer system can't even get somebody's ankle fixed in a timely manner.

My friends, mostly paramedics and two engineers, hate the socialism. I have made friends with medics in nine countries not counting the US. The French medics I have become friends with tell me horror stories and it is all linked to socialism!

France from what I have read, is in a horrible position. Unemployment in a booming economy is like 8%, high taxes for everyone and the Unions pretty much run the place.

Hard to find a job for younger people because of the unions, etc. I'm sure you can tell me more about it too.

What else don't they like about it?
