Man Charged With Killing Wife And Four Others

Tennessee police have charged a man with killing his wife and four others in a two-state rampage in which a sixth death is also linked with killings. Skip related content

Enlarge photo .Jacob Shaffer has been charged with killing five people found dead in two neighbouring rural homes, Tennesse's Bureau of Investigation said.

A sixth body discovered at a business about 20 miles away in Huntsville, Alabama has not yet been identified.

Two children were among those killed in the shooting spree which is believed to have happened on Friday or Saturday night, police said.

Police believe the 30-year-old's motive is domestic.

Shaffer was sitting on the front porch of one of the residences when he was arrested and is now being at a Tennessee jail, the TBI said.

Lincoln County Sheriff Murray Blackwelder told a news conference his department is investigating three crime scenes, but gave few other details.

He would not release the victims' names or the causes of death.

"We have a lot of unanswered questions," he said. "There's a lot we can't talk about."
