Heres a little poem of mine I wrote awhile ago. Not sure if it would qualify in this section but here ya go!

They say you cant run away from your past.
And that nothing good does ever last.
And pain comes in more forms than one.
And what you do cant be undone.

So Lets drive this road wherever it leads.
The maps we have are just misleads.
We can make up the story some more as we go.
We'll hide the truth and just give them a show.

We'll forgot all the things we were ever taught.
You'll be my partner in crime and we'll never be caught.
Every city we pass will go unturned.
And this is what what we'll have learned.

The past is a puzzle with pieces long gone.
And Life is just figuring out lyrics to a song.
And love is a trick that we all know too well.
And memories involve too many farewells.

Cool, i actually liked that, i thought it was very good.

Do you like to write, or was that just something that you just decided to do spontaneously?

Oh yeah I love to write. I had at least 60 poems in a folder of mine but I lost the folder. And thank you =]

Okay i have found them. I will post them here. This is the first one. I haven't wrote a title for it or anything else i wrote. I just started randomly writing.

The clenched fist of fascism
Struck down Lady Liberty’s crown
Damnation to your democracy
Lamentations to your laws
The iron feet of oppression
Are here to kick in your doors
No Kennedy’s or King’s
No Gandhi’s or Guevara’s
Only blank faced children
Watching their mother fall down
Did you demand justice when
They brought out the chains?
Did you cry out for mercy when you
Heard her pains?
Or did you stand with the others
And watch at the side
As Old Lady Liberty lay down and died.

Thank you! I've actually found them now. I just didn't want to post them all straight away. There are only a small handful, because there are other ones which i haven't finished writing. But I will post the ones i have, when i come back in a bit, because i have some stuff to do.

Okay here we go.

There is nothing left
But the cold grey ashes
Of my burnt out heart
My scorched soul
My withered wishes
All blown to dust by a lonely wind

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My eyes burn like coals
My blood boils black
My skin turns to ash
My bones crumble to cinders
As the flames of hatred incinerate my soul

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you remember what it was like?
Do you remember what it was like when I answered to no one?
Do you remember what it was like when the clouds cast no shadow?
Do you remember what it was like when I held the world?
Do you remember what it was like when time stood still?
Do you remember what it was like when your eyes held no secrets?
Do you remember what it was like when our hearts beat as one?
Do you remember what it was like?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Game
Some make their own rules
Some cheat
Many players
Some win
Some lose

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The sword of love
Strong and powerful
Difficult to handle
For best results
Stab through heart

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(I wasn't actually writing this with anyone in mind. It's cheesy i know, but i am going to keep it hahah)

When the world turns its back, I’ll give you my shoulder
When the rain starts to pour, I’ll give you my coat
Give me a frown; I’ll give you a smile
When you’re feeling down, I won’t run a mile
When times get hard, I’ll be by your side
If you take a stumble, I’ll break your fall
Tell me your fears
I’ll wipe your tears
When nobody’s there, I’ll still care
Just give me your hand and I’ll give you my heart

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that's it. I know some are atrocious hahah, but i was obviously using some as a way to express myself.

I think theyre really good actually =] Not cheesy at all. I know ive written some stuff that could definetly be on the borderline of cheesy. Especially in my 14 year old emo days.

Wow. Thanks for sharing, folks.

I love to see how others express themselves. I used to write poetry all the time, but I don't so much anymore. Kind of confused in general about what in myself is worth expressing, if that makes any sense... probably because I was seriously suppressing my emotions for a few years.

Anyway, I really appreciate the self-expression of others, and especially respect the courage I believe it takes to share it!

Nice....

...love literary expression...really does speak from the heart. Good stuff.

To toss in one:

---COLD SPAGHETTI AND A HALF EATEN HAMBURGER---

Clenched fist on rubber grip,
Cold steel now slightly warmed.
Ears still ringing from the crack of thunder,
Erupting as a final momento for someone I once knew.

So quiet now...

I can hear water leaking from a busted pipe.
A starving alley cat,
Rummaging through the remains of last nights dinner.
So quiet its deafening,
At least the gunshots created noise.
Cried out all that they were about.

Silence however hides in its shadows,
Like some crazy old bag lady who knows something she won't share with the world.

Its amazing how ones mind can go to its happy place,
When childhood dreams and fantasies are no longer apparent.
When all that exists is a distorted reality,
Yet it remains real within its own clarity.

And so we drink tonight, rejoice a job well done,
Sparing a thought for the bros who no longer drink with us.
Some brotherhood...
To be remembered only as an unopened bottle of beer.

While their crumpled bloodsoaked bodies lay in a damp alleyway,
Like the remains of last nights dinner.

Peace.

...another:

----STREETLIGHTS GLOW----

A soft rain drifting slowly down,
Illuminated by street lights glow.
I see your figure standing there,
Tucked away within the shadows.

Another John quickly passes by,
And you miss a possible sale.
But quickly do you approach the next,
And proceed to tell your tale.

You say you'll do anything for him,
"...anything" you repeat again.
He reaches into his pocket, takes out his wallet,
As you grab him by the hand.

You lead him down that alley way,
As people walk on by.
A few minutes later I see him leave,
And you return to your shadows and cry.

I sit across in this flashy bar,
Where the rich, they come to play.
Paid twenty notes for this double n coke,
Listened to Corporates prattle away.

They talk about their latest yacht,
Or the Benz they're about to buy.
And all the while you stand outside,
Hidden in shadows, you cry.

I sit surrounded by countless cash,
The airs thick with dollar bills.
And the young exec over in the far corner,
Just paid 500 for designer pills.

Yet no more than 10 metres away,
You're selling your very soul.
And those in this bar remain oblivious,
That you're living your private hell.

I put down my glass and count my cash,
Unable to drink no more.
I take a last long look around the bar,
And walk on out the door.

You see me walking up to you,
You adjust your shiny dress.
Put on a fake smile and bat your eyes,
Run a finger down your chest.

I reach into my pocket, take out my wallet,
You ask me what I'd like.
I press almost a grand into your hand,
Then walk away into the night.

I went back to that bar the other day,
To get myself a drink.
But you weren't there, standing in your shadows,
As I sat, I began to think.

That maybe my gift, it helped you out,
Gave you what you need.
Or perhaps you're simply selling yourself,
On some other city street.

I'd really like to believe you're not,
That you have a job, are doing well.
I'd like to believe that you have a life,
No longer living your private hell.

Or maybe a house, at home with child,
And a husband who loves you so.
Hopefully happiness has replaced those tears,
I saw in the street lights glow.

Peace.

Okay, I'll share a couple of mine also. :-)

Not titled

Greedy, sadistic dirt that you are.
Lying and hiding,
forever raising the bar.
Making it harder for others to live,
raking it in,
while pretending to give.

Nasty, deceitful scum of the earth.
Manipulating, dividing us,
as you increase your worth.
Making it harder for others to eat.
Laughing it up.
never knowing defeat.

It's time for you to lose control.
Freedom, equality
this nations ultimate goal.
Prepare yourselves now for brutal attack.
The end is nigh.
We want our country back!
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Freedom

Not to worry,
not to stress...
not to curse,
but to bless.
This beautiful lightness,
without guilt,
without blame.
Freedom, I claim.
True, pure freedom
from the grips of hate,
in this acceptance
I have not one complaint.
The Universe unfolds
and I unravel without fear...
I know in my heart
I am meant to be here.
---------------------------------------------------------------

The first one posted was actually written about 5 years after the second one posted... but I try to always keep it in mind, it's kind of a really long mantra. :-)
