Conservative MPs are gathering for what has been tipped as their last awayday before the next general election.
The politicians are likely to be focusing on next month's local, mayoral and European polls. Party managers are understood to see the 10 June
elections as something of a dry run ahead of their bid to take control of the country.
It is also the first electoral test of Michael Howard's leadership since he took over from Iain Duncan Smith.
The Tory party believe that the "Big Thursday" , June 10th, will be the first major test to see if the tories can gain a success in an election.
It may not be the major gerenal election, but it will represent a huge test of popular opinion.
