Rule one: never pay much heed to nazi's, friend.

And you should be proud of your children. We all should.

I agree. I especially shouldn't be getting angry at comments on the net. Certain things just make me really angry though...

But I do admit my comment was kind of childish and innapropriate... I have gone back and deleted it...

I will not lower myself to the level of a bigot...
Peace!

-twitches-

I once read on the ats board someone suggest the average ATS person had a higher IQ than normal.

Its threads like this that make me question that theory.

The woman from the washington post was speculating about the thoughts of the judge based on the judges words sometime back (admittedly dodgy, but I am pretty sure the judge never has worked for CNN in any capacity)...the title of this thread is misleading to a stupid extent, but whats worse is the followup responses to it giving this thread even a shred of credibility.
Hey, watch this:

I think the ops of ATS probably wants to shoot babies.

Quick, someone start a thread on how ATS blatantly stated how they intend on shooting babies....

Man...yep..its friday.

why all the focus on something she said a few years ago...?seriously , the media is obsessed about this . What she said is trivial its what she DID that matters, her ruling to discriminated against white firemen for promotion this is what matters . Talk about miss direction .

Be ready... soon all the white men are going to be carted off to re-education camps, or just killed outright. First they'll snatch Rush away in the night and the next night the rest of us.

Our days of controlling the world are over! We're doomed! What have we white men EVER done to deserve this?!!

*Note to actual conservatives: The previous post was sarcasm. Please consult your nearest library. They have these book things called dictionaries, that may help.

The media loves conflict, they feed on it. So I expect they are going to work the whole race angle as much as possible. Don't worry though I'm sure a real war will break out somewhere in the world so the vultures can cover that.

No, I think that there should be a level of vetting and understanding of this womans mindset is important, and if she is more swayed to make unfair judgements based on the bias then that should send up a red flag...people are equal and the more civil rights junkies we elect, the less that will be a reality.

If she is a racist, she needs to be called on it, but this thread is not about her, its about CNN's blatant racism..aka, this thread is complete horse pucky

i think its funny. if a mexican or black, oops i mean latina and african american get the short end of the stick or get some sort of injustice its the white mans fault and they are a victim of racism. not so much if its reversed. i never see jesse jackson or that idiot al sharpton defending a white person. wake up people. we have nothing to do with your ancestors being slaves, just like you dont. you are not suffering as a result of slavery, grow up and stop using it as a crutch for your communities faults.i bet most of them dont realize it was their own people that sold the slaves to the white man. that was a serious way for the tribes to make money and recieve goods. so for the most part, its your own fault......little bit of a rant haha!!!

The reason why conservatives lost the election is because they cater to those whom do not actually read or even watch a video.....

its statements like that which confirms the mindset of conservatives have not changed since your day of defeat.

There is absolutely nothing racist about what CNN said or did (see above post), which means you have either:
1) not bothered to watch the 50 second video clip
or
2) purposefully propagating disinformation in the hopes the most ignorant elements will follow your mindset.

Now this I agree with. Equality means eliminating victimization of any race...those black leaders you spoke of were good for their community long ago, but their days are long past...and now they do far more damage than good and need to basically shut up and go fishing.

oh, and I am a liberal...its scary when a liberal adapts a conservative mindset...but that typically means that indeed the answer is clear no matter what line you stand on.
The more someone pitys me, the less I like that person. If a person tells me to stand up and stop being sorry for myself, that person I respect alot more.

Big Woop!

If this is the worse she has done then WoW people really must be bored. I say it showed poor judgment on her part. I never realized my fellow males were so thinned skinned.

So it's the wrong choice of words.
I don't feel threatened.

The fact that you could even consider making such a comment is reflection of your extreme ignorance and lack of even a basic understanding of the institution of slavery. You are scum. The world can only hope you never have children.

Whites better get a voice and some balls to go along with that voice really fast.

Everyone whispers of a revolution against tyranny and restoring the Constitution but I'd say from the looks of it they may be baiting us in to a race war. There seems to be some powers at play here creating lots of tension between the "minorities" of this country and whites as of late.

That's a road the "minorities"(sigh, I hope one day we all will just be americans) don't want to go down.

To tell you the truth, I think this woman is bribed to say that on CNN just to make a mockery of Sotomayer.

However, I still don't like Sotomayer because she has no sense of modesty. She's like my nerd friend who still acts like me when I was 4. "You're smart" "Yes I am, smarter than you"

I hate those kind of people.

Look at the disgusting smiles on their faces as they discuss this. These people are sick in the head. I find it revolting so many white people have self hatred. Yet every other nationality under the sun are allowed to express and push their "pro" agenda for their "race."

I also find it pathetic how so many people can be conditioned and brainwashed by our media. You see this type of self loathing from liberals in today's society. I have no time for these spineless cowards. I wouldn't be shocked if some of these people who push this racist agenda visit bondage porn websites and stuff. They seem to get off on submitting.

THEY (some white liberals who promote self hatred) are the one's with an unhealthy, demented outlook on life.

-End rant-

Well it doesn't offend me, I just think it's a stupid thing to say. And I realize that if the words had been changed around, it would have been an even bigger deal.

But I have seen way more racism in this thread than in the video sadly. Do you guys actually know what racism is? Do you think it's only racism when they say something bad?

When you are reffering to things as "whites", or "blacks" or "latinos" in such manners, that is racism. You are attributing qualities to individuals based on race. It's not about good or bad things said, it's about a mindset.

And yes, there is plenty of other racism in the news and in the government. In fact, they blatently divide people into these groups as a means of promoting racism.

Even if you are saying good things it's still racist if you are treating people as being of a group rather than individuals.

Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans only as members of groups and never as individuals. Racists believe that all individual who share superficial physical characteristics are alike; as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their intense focus on race is inherently racist, because it views individuals only as members of racial groups.

The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims. Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence, not skin color, gender, or ethnicity. In a free market, businesses that discriminate lose customers, goodwill, and valuable employees – while rational businesses flourish by choosing the most qualified employees and selling to all willing buyers. More importantly, in a free society every citizen gains a sense of himself as an individual, rather than developing a group or victim mentality. This leads to a sense of individual responsibility and personal pride, making skin color irrelevant. Rather than looking to government to correct what is essentially a sin of the heart, we should understand that reducing racism requires a shift from group thinking to an emphasis on individualism.

AREU: Nooo. As a wise Latina I can tell you, no, she's not backing down and she probably would want to say, "Not only do I mean a wise Latina, I meant any Latina could make a better decision than a white man could."
(visit the link for the full news article)

As a white man, I don't take that comment as racist. I'm sure any Latina could make better decisions than white men. Such as how to cook refried beans, when to have your sixth child, what time to go to Wal-Mart on Sunday's, when to clean the school bus out, and what time to wake her husband up to go work in the tobacco field.

Ok seriously, I would only take that comment as anti-white man if she said it like this "All latina's make better decisions than all white men, everytime a decision is made". So I really don't think that was a racist comment that requires any getting mad about. Now as for Sotomayor, I think the worst thing from her mouth was the "I have friends who hunt".

There is absolutely nothing racist about what CNN said

My statement was based upon facts, not fantasizing, as your post does. The following study SHOWS how biased CNN is:

A new study by the Media Research Center's Free Market Project finds that the evening-news shows delivered liberal talking points on the Social Security debate more than twice as often as points from the conservative side advocating restructuring Social Security. The idea of personal retirement accounts doesn't stand a chance with numbers like those. The study looked at the evening news programs on CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, and Fox between Nov. 15, 2004, and March 15, 2005. This time frame covered a period from shortly after Bush's reelection to the launch of his "60 stops in 60 days" campaign. The study examined the use of liberal and conservative talking points in Social Security stories as part of an ongoing analysis of media coverage of this debate. CNN and CBS battled it out for the honor of being the most biased. Fifty-six percent of the CBS stories had a liberal leaning, compared with just 20 percent conservative. Over at CNN, it was 61 percent liberal and 22 percent conservative. Although the tally was close, CBS won by undermining conservative positions whenever possible.
