I pleaded with the moon
but it wouldn't light the dark
the sun I couldn't beckon
the blackened sky was stark

A million fingers grabbing
the forest closing in
the branches clawing at me
ripping at my skin

I hear the wicked voices
laughing at my plight

My prayer went unanswered
