Starbucks wipes name from Seattle location, adds alcohol to menu.

The Seattle-based gourmet coffee chain said it is changing the name of one of its existing stores in its hometown to a name that reflects the neighborhood location. The store will be called 15th Avenue Coffee and Tea. It will open next week and will serve coffee and tea as well as wine and beer.

Leave it to Starbucks to evolve during the downturn. What better for depressing economic hard times than a belt or two at the local upscale java joint?

Caffeine and alcohol. There's nothing like a wide awake drunk. Shades of the Drew Carey Show and Buzz Beer. Of course the idea isn't to mix the two, just to offer both. But the possible new combinations would be dizzying!

"I'd like a grande, half-caf, extra carmel, no foam, Hefeweizen! Oh, you're out of carmel? Well then how about a glass of your '99 Cabernet Chai Latte?"
