The explanation is simple if you follow plasma cosmology.

Magnetosphere-ionosphere interactions —near-Earth manifestations of the plasma Universe

The Earth is orbiting in a gigantic soup of charged particles. The magnetic field of the earth pulls those particles down and accelerates them causing the plasma discharges we see in the Earth's atmosphere and near space.

Parallel electric fields have been known to be the cause of this for decades. Standard theorists ignore the published papers of electrical engineers and plasma physicists because it would ruin their carefully constructed gravity centric theories of the universe.

Think its a coincidence that we see activity on the sun and suddenly we see massive displays of glowing clouds?

No.

The Sun is electric as well. The Earth plays in the Sun's electric field.

Well some of it has to do with the Earth's rapidly weakening magnetic
field that is getting ready to flip.

We already see huge anomalies in the field, and you can see this
explained how we are getting close to a flip in 100 years or less
is their best bet.

It has been 780,000 years since a magnetic flip, and it is usually
much less time between flips.

We may see several magnetic poles for a brief time too.
